I love this app, and now I know why and who is responsible for it being so brilliant. It's LinkMe Mobile. I read about the company today--it's been featured in a lot of press recently with Spotlight Mobile. But LinkMe Mobile is responsible for the snapping a picture part of this app. This works great! I have been playing around with it since downloading the app, and every pic I take of a book works great! This app is for you! Awesome!

***Update -- Simply brilliant -- particularly the picture matching feature. I have seen much written about getfugu's logo/image recognition technology. I have tried both myself, and the tech provided by LinkMe Mobile for this app is hands down the best out there!
I love this app--it is without doubt the most brilliant one on the planet. How can an app be so smart and cool at the same time? The snap feature is AMAZING! It is my most favorite part of the app. People trip out when they see it in action. They think it is magic. It works like magic--clean, simple, and accurate. I highly recommend this app. It is free, yes--but it is worth a ton, especially if you are a book reader. Even if you aren't, you will fall in love with this app.

Absolutely incredible. The UI is better than some of the Apple native apps, and yet it maintains Barnes&Noble's signature style. Yes, there have been complaints about the fact that you cannot log into an account - you are sent to Safari to complete any order, etc. (Which I don't understand - it should be integrated directly into the app. Everything else is so great, why stop just short of perfection? And if you absolutely MUST send us to Safari, them at least have an iPhone-formated page...) But this is the only down side to the entire application. Flawless integration of many amazing features. And on the first try. B&N, you make me proud to shop at your stores. Other developers, beware. This is how it should be done.

Amazingly well done. Snap feature is truly next level. No doubt that this app will lead to many more books being bought. Would love to see a wish list that I can keep on my phone or email, as well as a 'recommend similar' that could provide an educated guess at similar books, authors or product when browsing product pages or authors. I'd buy way more books if I could easily find books similar to ones I've already enjoyed, especially when I've read all books by a particular author and looking for a new author or series to get into.

OMG! I love this app! It gives me the chance to check out fun educational books on the go. I can't put this down. People say sallys spa is better but I totally absolutely 100% disagree! You know something? Books are life. Enjoy them. Because one day books are going to rip into to to tiny pieces of nothing! Don't waste your life watching tv.... Read a book... I suggest the twilight saga. Thank you very much for listening to my thoughts...

I can't believe how many negative reviews this app is getting! I downloaded this app, found an amazing book, and bought that book all in the same day! this app has turned me into a reader and I am constantly searching for a new book on the B&N app. and whoever said that u can do all of this from ur comp, ur an idiot. u can do EVERYTHING on the iPhone from a comp. the whole point of the iPhone is to make computing mobile!!

***Update -- still in love with this app. It's AWESOME! Not sure how the inferior e-reader bumped it from the top spot. Who knows how to make sense of the App Store's random rating system? It's a mystery.

NB because of licensing agreements it appears that some (many?) books are available in the US only, which is why it may ask for a US billing address. There is still a simple way to buy the book.Love the Meriam Webster dictionary integration. Just select a word and you can get the definition. Not sure if the dictionary was there from the beginning or only after I bought a book. In general this is similar to Stanza and other ereader apps: love the ability to search, bookmark, highlight and make notes. Would be nice if you could unhighlight something you had previously highlighted.

This is a terrific app, very quick and easy to use. It gives you many ways to find and purchase your title. However, this app lacks one very important (and rather simple) tool. "Other Formats." As a B&N employee I can asure you that virtually every popular title these days will come out almost simultaneously as and audio book and a hardcover. And the audiobook will be available as an MP3 download or as a physical set of CDs. Most popular books that have been on the shelf for a while have half a dozen different formats. However, when you search for a title, or use the slick snapshot option, your results may be the CD when you in fact want to purchase the hardcover, or the hardcover instead of the paperback. I can already see customers completing their purchase through this app and being disappointed when they get their product in hand, not having seen the tiny type identifying their book as a CD audiobook. What's needed (and should be quite simple to implement) is a link to all of the various formats for any given title. Add this (and maybe a way to manage your membership settings) and you have a virtually perfect app.

Love using this app to find info on new books and books I've seen in passing. Photo search is also really cool. It would be great to search by category. Also it would be helpful if it would show u the different formats that were available ( like ebook). It would be great for looking at the info page of a book but also when using the find and reserve function. I was searching for a book for my sister and the app told me the store was out of stock. Turns out they were out of the mass market but had the trade paper right there on the shelf.

Without this app, I probably wouldn't have discovered the Barnes and Noble Leatherbound classics series, or the new Narnia and Vampire Chronicles books. Thanks guys!On the to-do side of things...1. Please fix the pictures thing. Currently, each item entry displays only one very distorted picture for each item. More pictures would be great. 2. Product info. How many pages does it have? What binding does it have? What is this book about? While the author interviews and bios are great, sometimes we just need to see the product itself :-P3. ISBNs. Nuff said. 4. Gift Cards/Checkout. Where I live, the wifi is kinda crappy, which makes Safari take forever, compared to some apps. When checking out, don't take me to Safari. Let me check out on the app!5. Order status. Once I've ordered something, let me check up on it's status via iPhone!6. Expanded menu. Right now, the home page is loaded up with one thing: new releases. While new releases are fine, show me some Barnes and Noble products! (Classics, Leatherbounds, special offers for iPhone users)Do all that, and this will be a 5-star app!
