GREAT FOR ANY AGE.....!!!!! By: ASMC REVIEW - Dec 28, 2009 Version: 4.10.2 See, this is a very simple; great app to use! I bought it. And, my Friends have bought it; and loved it. It has every chapter and every verse. You click the abbreviation for the chapter. Then, you click on the other screen if it was 1.23. You would click 1. Then it would bring up the other. Then click, 23. That easy. And, BAM it is right in front of you! It is a great resource to learn the word of God! HOPE THIS HELPS MAKE YOUR DECISION ON THIS APP! MAY GOD BLESS!!!!!!!!!! :-)
The NIV for £6.99 plus loads more, great! By: Rob Barron - 16-Jun-2009 Version: 4.06 I was amazed to find the NIV for this price with full search facilities and loads of extra free books. This is an excellent product, search is fast, finding a specific verse is very quick indeed. You can change the font size and type to make it as clear as you want it and the tilting mechanism works so you can read it wide across the page. Very intuitive and easy to read. Keep this on your phone ... and don't forget to read it!
At last! By: Martin Turner - 27-Oct-2008 Version: 4.06 I've been waiting for the New International Version to come out ever since the iPhone 2.0 firmware. Most of the early iPhone Bibles were based on out of copyright or otherwise public domain translations. The NIV has, for a long time, been the leading translation as far as sales are concerned. Academics may argue a preference for the NRSV, and traditionalists are sure to point out the many virtues of the King James, but, for the general reader, the NIV is the one I would recommend. This app is good, but not brilliant. For example, there's no way to have the words of Jesus come up in black (the app insists on making them red, which is not something most of the printed editions of the NIV do), and the footnotes and verse numbers can be put in white, but not turned off. Also, the subtitles, which are not part of the text, are in a larger, bold font, instead of the lighter, italic font in the print editions. On the other hand, the search engine is very powerful. Easily worth the rather steep price, in my opinion. As far as refinements are concerned, I would love to have this app in the beautiful, original Palatino typeface of the first few NIV editions.
Quick and easy By: Bpcmel - Nov 24, 2009 Version: 4.10 Absolutely love this app. I rarely brought my bible to church before because I was so slow at finding and couldn't keep up. This app has changed everything. The three step verse finder is extremely fast and easy (no typing!). I can keep up even when the preacher goes through multiple scriptures very quickly. I have also been able to help co-workers find verses with the search feature. Works great and now I always have my Bible with me! Thanks!!!
Great product! By: Brian D. V. - Oct 8, 2008 Version: 4.02.017 As a portable copy of the NIV, this app performs very well. Looking up a particular passage works quickly with the unique grid-like verse chooser. And the continuous scrolling feature ensures that the app doesn't get in my way when reading long passages. Searching is pretty straightforward and includes a number of advanced options that provide more flexibility. Having the option to change font face and size is also nice. While searching worked perfectly most of the time, I did occasionally get strange results. However with Olive Tree’s reputation in the industry, I am confident these rough edges will be resolved in the next update.
Split Screen is awesome By: Shiphranita - Apr 17, 2009 Version: 4.06 The new 4.06 update with Split Screen Viewer is so fantastic, I am writing my first app review ever. I can view the NIV Bible on top, and the Zondervan Study Bible Notes at the bottom, synchronized with each other, so they scroll together. This is excellent, slick, and one awesome Bible Reader for a great Study Bible. Would love to see Oswald Chambers' My Utmost for His Highest added as a devotional offering.
NO AUTO_SCROLL By: rsr205 - Oct 24, 2008 Version: 4.02.017 This is the best of all the Bible programs I've used with one exception, It does NOT have auto scroll. I contacted Olive Tree to find out why I could not figure out how to auto scroll and they told me that it was not available for the iPhone. Thats not what their advertisement says. Maybe they could have an update to fix that, it would get them another star..Other than that well worth the money....
Great version, but missing some features By: bookworm656 - Sep 19, 2009 Version: 4.08 In terms of how easy it is to look up a verse reference (say John 3:16), this Bible app is definitely the best that I've seen: go to the verse lookup screen, tap John, tap 3, tap 16, and you're there--no typing or scrolling through long lists required! Also, I'm sure the split screen feature would be very nice if you've bought another version or study notes or something. However, there are some important features that are missing or could be better. The most obvious missing feature is highlighting (I'm hoping it will be added in an update later!). The ability to copy verses could also be better--as far as I can tell, you can only copy one verse at a time, which could be rather inconvenient. Also, the app is a little laggy at times.
Combine different Bible versions on same BibleReader By: HillviewBirdie - 28-Oct-2008 Version: 4.02.017 The NIV BibleReader is very friendly in searching for the target verses. However, it would be good to add option to highlight (in color) some of the selected verses and/or place them in bookmark for future reference. Also I have the KJV and ASV version of the BibleReader but I am not able to combine it with the NIV which I bought yesterday into same BibleReader. Can you help to advice how to do it ? THANKS
Works great! By: EngineerDude - Oct 13, 2009 Version: 4.08 Better than expected. Love the "three tap" navigation feature and ability to change background and font colors for reading preference. The NIV notes are also very useful. Worth the $$.
Best bible reader I've found so far By: CrazyDude69 - Oct 25, 2009 Version: 4.08 I wanted to be able to change the font size to whatever I wanted and this does that. The free one I was using could only go so small. I'm glad I can also change the text and background color so I have a dark background for reading at night in bed without disturbing my wife.
Good By: John Boy Bottom - Oct 25, 2009 Version: 4.08 Great app

The Bible in your pocket - great! By: ••Phil•• - 25-Aug-2009 Version: 4.08 This was just the app I was looking for - and more! An extremely portable and easy to use way to read the Bible wherever you are. A little expensive perhaps, as most apps go, but worth it in my opinion.

Worth every penny By: Flying Sundowner - 30-Jun-2009 Version: 4.06 I tried free Bible readers, but this beats them handsdown. It is clear, fast and easy to use.
Now stable and has bookmarks By: zzjlamb - 17-Nov-2008 Version: 4.02.017 With the latest update it is now stable and has bookmarks as well as history. Excellent!
