Whether you are a scout or not the information in this book is valuable. Skills good to have & more importantlyis development of Godly character which is part of their oath and law. Beautifully done incorporating the new & old handbooks. Having the handbook gives us all a chance to be a Scout in spirit byChoosing to follow there lead.It would be a better world if we all were Scouts. Thank You!!!
Version 2 much better. Now worth the price

Version 1 - Can't read in full page view, does not allow landscape view in full page or text view. Contains all the errors that are in the printed version. Hopefully it will be upgraded and errors removed. Really about a $4 app that they are charging $10 for.Version 2 - you can zoom, and view in landscape in both full page view and text only. Glide from page to page. Much needed improvements. If you are a scout or scouter, get it today! Imagine having the handbook with you on your iPod touch or iphone at all times.

This is an outstanding app! I for one had no trouble at all reading and navigating through the material. Any negative comments I read about this app amount to pretty much the same thing, user preference. Some may not like the interface right away but I've seen far worse and with a little time you get used to it. I'm sure the boyscouts never intended this as a replacement to a printed scout manual anyway, and why would they? It makes an excellent quick reference for when your away from your full sized manual and can't quite recall something you were studying. Sure it could use some improvements but what first run app doesn't? I'm thrilled with this app as is if it gets updated that would be frosting on the cake!

The eagerly anticipated new version of the Boy Scout Handbook is now available for your iPhone and iPod Touch, so now you can take it with you where ever you go. This is the latest edtion of a classic of outdoor knowledge that dates back almost 100 years and a worthy successor to previous editions. The graphics are much improved and the content is updated to reflect current rank requirements and the knowledge necessary to be a Boy Scout today. The information contained therein, though, is applicable to anyone who enjoys the outdoors, whether camping, hiking, fishing or canoeing. The only glitch that I came across is that you cannot use a finger swipe to move from page to page when you have zoomed in at all. You will definitely have to zoom in to read much of the text, so having to tap to zoom back out before changing pages could be somewhat of a pain. The content, though, is first rate!

This is a great resource fo modern scouters. As a district executive, this is an amazigly effective reSource to have for situations when very specific questions pop up from volunteers.Very nice!!!!!

It is very nice to have the handbook on hand at all times. Just got the update so I am not sure of it but ver 1 work great for me it could only be better. Remember volunteers help for free Profesionals are paid to help and Scouters pay to help.
