Brilliant! By: MollyMormon - Mar 2, 2009 Version: 1.1.1 This is the best ever! The missionaries came over and when I pulled this out they were like.... "Woah!!!! Can I use it!?". Lol it was amazing. I live having it so easily available and the application works smoothly. I agree that being able to mark scriptures with different colors would be spectacular. And hymns would be awesome but I don't know if there are copyright issues with that but one can hope!
Thanx! ;] This is wonderful!
Hi By: Beth15ldslhs - Dec 2, 2008 Version: 1.0.4 I think this is really good, lately I haven't being reading my scriptures much but this helps me to remind to read them and I do, but what I like the most it's the fact that if I'm feeling bad or sad I can pull out my scriptures and read them and feel so much better
Thank you so much for this app
.by the way I would please like to ask to the anti- religion,Mormon, scriptures keep your comments to yourself I'm sure people have better things to do than listening to you..
With all my love to you my brothers and sisters
Excellent App! By: The Critic™ - Nov 19, 2008 Version: 1.0.4 This application is wonderful! It does just what you need it to do (minus a few extra features that will most likely come in future updates). It is so nice to see someone making the scriptures available for iPhone/iPod touch and not trying to make money off of them. The app is basic, and easy to navigate. It features a useful search function that allows you to easily search for phrases and words in all the books of scripture. It also has some customizable option such as font and font size. Overall a wonderful application.
Very useful. By: urbandave - 09-Nov-2008 Version: 1.1.1 I find this app very useful as saves me carrying about heavy scriptures :) Gave the app 4 stars as it does the job it's supposed to extremely well but could always do with a couple of extra features. As another reviewer mentioned, would be great to have footnotes or additional study guides, or even the ability to make notes, however the app is free so maybe I'm asking a little much. Still great!
Well done. Better than paid apps By: Motsumi - Nov 18, 2009 Version: 1.2.0 Sure the $$ apps have bookmarks, highlighters, and supplementary content like hymns and "Teachings" manuals, and I own a paid version for that. But they don't have combined study guides in one super easy searchable list. They dont offer the best footnote and navigation. This app's interface, navigation, and search features are the best of the bunch ... And it's free! Way to go developer(s). This is a homerun.
Awesome!!!!!!! By: :]cupcake[: - Oct 13, 2009 Version: 1.1.1 I am a HUGE fan of this app! This is the best way to go if u r like me and don't want to spend $15 on an app... It is a great tool for Mormons, and others! Carrying an iPod, is much lighter than carrying your scripture case every Sunday! I didn't give the full 5 stars, cause it could be better... Like some other people mentioned. But overall, it is very fast and conveinent! I havnt had a problem yet!
Awesome App!! Just fix one thing... By: Ping pong master - Feb 25, 2009 Version: 1.1.1 This really is a great app. It is very useful. However, when you are reading... the numbers are the same size as the letters. It's hard to tell apart where one verse ends and another begins. You should either make it bolder or put a space in between each verse. Or something along the lines of that. Other than that this is an incredible app. I really like the night mode. Looking forward to an update!!! Keep up the great work!!!!! =)
New features make it usable... By: goteamhumble - 28-Jul-2009 Version: 1.1.1 I've always liked the idea of having the scriptures in a palm or iPhone but have still preferred "real" scriptures for study and lessons because it's been hard to "study" and follow scripture chains on the electronic versions. Although the ability to mark and record notes would make this app as perfect as it can be in this life, the new footnotes and quick navigation make it so much more usable as a study tool.
Keep up the great work, thanks for keeping it free and I look forward to the next update.
Works Every time!!! By: Sleepymoma - 30-Jun-2009 Version: 1.1.1 All it needs is the hymn book and I can leave my bag at home!!! I cannot fault this app, and for free... well Lee, I thank you from the bottom of my heart!! I wouldnt have been able to buy anything so you have really blessed my life ...... and got me back in the habit of scripture study!! Is there any chance of adding the hymn book pref with the sheet music but if too hard then words only)? The skys the limit... you could get all the manuals and make other apps too! Sorry for planning your life ;) The app really is that reliable!!
Great By: fubar111891 - Sep 2, 2009 Version: 1.1.1 This is great it is a way to have my scriptures with me all the time and I love the updates on it but one thing I'd like to have is a way to highlight scriptures and words!!! That would be amazing different colors of highlights that'd be way nice!! Another great app would be the hymn book!!And I have to say one thing to all of you that say that Mormons are not true Christians what I want to know is have you ever met any in my line of work I have had the privlage of working along side many of them and without a doubt they are more Christian then any one so give them a chance listen to them as they will listen to you. Be like Christ and accept everyone not just those who can make you a higher social status. Just understand jesus will accept all so should you and I!

No unhallowed hand can stop the work from progressing... By: Nacoffey - Oct 15, 2008 Version: 1.0.4 It's always interesting to see the slander against the Church, with which it has no argument to stand on . Then again Satan doesn't want people to join the True Church and partake of the fulness of the Gospel!
Regardless we know that no unhallowed hand can stop the work from progressing...and that the truth of God will go forth boldly, nobly and independent...
The Church is true despite what some who profess to be Christian argue vehemently! The Church will continue to grow until it fills the whole Earth. All those who fight against the Truth only help to make the Church stronger and people to investigate, so to those of you who have and will fight this great work we say thank you for you know not that your slander only furthers this great cause!
This app will only help to strengthen the testimonies of members and may lead others to the Gospel truth.
The Church is true!
Awesome! By: HalfCrack - Oct 6, 2008 Version: 1.0.4 Truly and awesome app! It's prefect for getting a quick read in on the go or during sacrament. You have obviously put a lot of time and effort into this, and it's awesome that you made it free for us! To all the anti-Mormons, athesits, and others with far too much time on their hands- get a life. Fast. Please, give us the same courtesy that we afford you, and allow us to worship as we please. I spent the better part of two years wading through the morass of anti-Mormon material, thinking there was something I was missing. Guess what? There's not. Most of it is half truths, misquotes, and downright lies, and the rest can easily be explained by reliable sources. So please, save your venom of the uninformed, and leave the rest of us to enjoy this awesome app.
Love it By: shfhghth - 15-Aug-2009 Version: 1.1.1 if you could add the teachings of the prophets, and the talks given at general conferences that would be very nice. i love the app i thank you for making it. When the ability to highlight comes, it would be nice to have different colours and be able to give each colour a topic. Like the colour yellow representing important things Jesus said, and maybe green representing scripture mastery. It is very nice having this free app. Thank you
Fantastic! By Ren Jin Lee By: Ren Jin Lee - 9-Feb-2009 Version: 1.1.1 I purchaed the $15 Scriptures, but I would have to say deriving from the bottom of my heart that Lee Falin and his application is a definite work of God - he do not capitalize in the words of God and the Prophets.
What attracted me to buy the $15 Scripture application is that it includes hymns, general conferences, and more references. Hopefully, Lee could do the same as I defy capitalizing in the word of God.
The $15 Scripture is magnificent since of course it's the word of God and the Gospel, however the application is a bit slow to get into the chapters - but the question is, is it worth $15? Or could it go to fast offering and tighting?
It's your call.
Thanks sooooo much By: Binky's Mom - Sep 28, 2008 Version: 1.0.4 I really missed my scriptures on my Treo when I got my new iPhone. I am so glad I came across this app and it's free to boot! It works great. I appreciate the hard work you did to put this together.
BTW, if you want to get the Ensign, Hymns, Lesson Manuals, etc., then download them from lds.org and get the free eReader and put those books on your bookshelf at ereader.com and then load them to your iPhone/Touch. Wahlah you got those for free too!
Great App that is improving! By: thatdankid - 26-Aug-2008 Version: 1.0.3 I was so happy to see this free scriptures app come up, and although it had a few glitches to start with, it seems most have been solved with the first update, and now it remembers what chapter you are in after you close it! While it still doesn't have Chapter Headings or footnotes, I'm guessing those are things that could eventually come. The author isn't making any money off it, just doing it as a service in his spare time, so you can't expect everything to be right away. Now I don't have to take my scriptures with me on the bus, I can just read my iPod! Thank you so much to the author for making this available to us! Also, on his website he comments that if anyone feels a desire to contribute monetarily, just give it to the Perpetual Education Fund instead. Very respectable.
Comparing By: supersonicsixteen - Sep 21, 2008 Version: 1.0.3 Okay, I'm one of those people who paid 15 dollars for the original application, and then I downloaded this one to compare. This one isn't half bad, and fact it's fairly user friendly. Also it was made with good intentions. That's why I gave it 5 stars. Differences between the free scriptures app, and the paid scriptures app
1.paid is more user friendly, and allows zooming an verse jumping
2. Paid has a host of other resources like teachings if the prophet Joseph Smith, and for the strength of youth, and general conference, and the constitution.
3. The downside Is that it's 15$, but if you think about how much you pay for the paper ones(40ish) then it makes sense.
In conclusion ( LOL) both apps are great, but the paid one is better.
Great By: fubar111891 - Sep 2, 2009 Version: 1.1.1 This is great it is a way to have my scriptures with me all the time and I love the updates on it but one thing I'd like to have is a way to highlight scriptures and words!!! Awesome! A must have LDS application! By: rebeccaboston - Jan 17, 2009 Version: 1.1.1 This application is great! It contains all of the standard works, the Bible Dictionary, and the Guide to the Scriptures (similar to the Topical Guide). It is easy to navigate among and between books and chapters. The search function is great--similar to the search function in the online version of the scriptures at lds.org. The ability to look at footnotes and follow links to see related scriptures, but then return to where you were originally reading is very useful (it's easier than using the book!). Mostly, I appreciate and am grateful that I can carry the scriptures with me everywhere I go. I think this is a must have application. Thank you so much for making this available. A few suggestions for improvement (I'm sure you're already working on them) 1. Add the ability to highlight verses in several different colors and the ability to search for all the verses highlighted in a particular color. So if you were preparing a talk, for example, you could highlight all those scriptures and then look at them all together. 2. Make faster scrolling inside the chapter. I know that the new function of going to a particular verse was added, but it would be nice to just swipe your finger and have the chapters respond the same way the number menus do. 3. Include the hymns.
To mactunes... By: Abe14the - Sep 4, 2008 Version: 1.0.3 News flash to those who say they want a different translation... Lee Falin in the description of the product says "King James Version". Let's not make the already amazing guy work harder than he already is! He said it is the king James version and that's what he has so don't discredit this app for something he hasn't and won't put on. If you want another bible translation, then find another app that says it will get another translation to the bible in an update. Problem solved since the LDS community uses ONLY the King James Version and no other version.
