You can try out Cisco WebEx Meeting Center by joining a live demonstration meeting from your iPhone. Download Meeting Center and then use Safari to go to http://m.webex.com. Click on the “View demo” link that is active Monday through Friday, 6:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Pacific Time (14:30 to 01:00 UTC). Or sign up for a 14-day WebEx free trial at www.webex.com to get the full experience including scheduling meetings.
REQUIREMENTS
To attend a meeting: If you’ve been invited to join a WebEx meeting, first download this application. Then go to your WebEx meeting invitation email and click on the “To join this meeting” link. You don't need a WebEx account to attend WebEx meetings.
For meetings that do not use WebEx audio conferencing, call the phone number on your meeting invitation. After joining the audio conference, click the “To join this meeting” link in the invitation to join the Web portion of the meeting.
If your WebEx meeting uses WebEx audio conferencing, you’ll receive a call after you tap the “To join this meeting” link. Answering the call and pressing “1” places you into the audio conference. Then go to the iPhone Home screen and tap on the WebEx Meet icon to join the Web portion of the meeting.
To schedule a meeting: If you have a WebEx subscription, meetings can be scheduled directly from the My Meetings screen on your iPhone – just click the “+” button.

This app works great! You really can follow along with the presentation by zooming in from landscape mode. And I love being able to see who is speaking so that I can put names to voices.
Note that you do need to have your WebEx account upgraded to "T27" to use this app, but there is a sample conference you can try that one of the WebEx guys set up. You can attend by going to his blog at http://tinyurl.com/8hqj9y on your iPhone browser.

Joining webex meetings on the iPhone is a tremendous benefit. The 1.2 update enhances the experience even greater by being able to create meetings on the fly and invite other participants. Being able to easily join meetings while in the car and not having to write down meeting numbers and such and trying to fumble around while driving is certainly a huge safety factor beyond just basic usability. Definitely one of the most used apps on my iPhone.

Our site has just been updated to T27 / WBS26 and this app is now supported. What an excellent app to be able to participate in meetings and sharing while on the road. NOTE: For teleconference and video to both work at the same time on an iPhone, it REQUIRES either a Wi-Fi connection on either an iPhone 2G or 3G, or an iPhone 3G in 3G mode. iPhone 2G units cannot be "on the telephone" and "on the Internet" at the same time - only 3G phones can do that. This is a limitation of the older EDGE technology, and not of the WebEx application itself.

Alright, to you ungrateful users who think that meetings on 3G should allow you to walk on water and raise the dead, WAKE the HELL UP! And smell the economy while you're at it! Go on, get a good whiff. Exactly how more mobile can do you get from an iPhone??? C'mon! You're already given a solution to attend meetings online, and all you can do is gripe about it? So what if they were two weeks behind? So what if your admin can't pick up the phone and request a free upgrade to your site (that's already being rolled out to the hundreds of thousands of Webex sites out there)? So what if the performance is nothing faster than 3G (you're joking right? You do know that cars don't fly quite yet, don't you?)? Find an app that will par with this PLUS the encrypted security PLUS something the DOD would even consider using. I dare you!

I was somewhat dissapointed that we had to wait for the T27 upgrade, however I have contacted our account manager and found that our site will be updated by Feburary. We then setup a test meeting with our account manager using their test site where I got to see just how cool this app is.
While it lacks many features of a desktop meeting, they have kept this just at the right functionality to provide quick access into a web meeting. I really look forward to using this on our site in the next few weeks.
FYI, some sites are on T27, however they have held out on some of the heavier users as there are several other site changes that will come with T27.
Webex works, but has limitations

The app works on iphone 3gs (os 3.0.1). When viewing a shared application or desktop, I found the max resolution of the host is 1600x900. Anything higher blacks out the iphone screen and only displays the presenter's mouse pointer. Using wifi and cable modem, there is a significant lag when redrawing the shared screen. It took between 1 and 10 seconds to redraw the screen when the presenter's computer screen was changed. Screen redraws were also laggy at 1024x768 resolution. I do not know if this lag is due to Iphone or Webex congestion.
when zoomed in, the host's computer screen is very legible.
I did not use webex audio or voice on the iphone during webex meeting.
Slides are easy to read. 2G issue

Works outstandingly well on WiFi or 3G. The slides are easy to view, complete with fast full zoom to see small text. The app makes good use of landscape and portrait mode.
Tip - If the phone is on 2G ie EDGE or GPRS then the network (so also this app) only supports voice or data but not both. So, make sure you have a good 3G signal before joining a meeting and don't walk out of 3G coverage during a meeting - if you do, the visuals will drop and you'll be left on audio only.

Never thought there would be a reason for me to have to use this app,,but I did this morning and it went off flawlessly! I guess the only thing I noticed in the way of negatives is I would have liked to have been able to use the chat,,and it may well be available,,but I couldn't find it if it is,, Otherwise worked like a charm with no noticeable issue moving slides,,even when I was only using ATT's 3G Network..
Good but not great, needs a little more work...

I have an account but do understand what some are saying about being able to join a WebEx session without one... agree, you should be able to set up your name, email and other pertinent info even without an acct then enter the meeting ID and get in to a meeting.
I use it today and with an account, it shows my WebEx events in series for the day. I click on one and go.
Note however that I've been rejected from joining because the organizer hadn't set up that meeting for the iPhone. To me, they all should be iPhone compatible - that just makes no sense. I bet that the majority of WebEx meeting organizers out there aren't looking for whether the meeting is iPhone compatible or not.
My opinion is that this is a great tool with lots of room for improvement but unless you have an account today, you won't need this app until they extend it's useability to those wanting one-off sessions.

I'm very impressed with this application. The WebEx team did a great job translating the Meeting Center functionality to the iPhone's unique user interface. The landscape mode for viewing presentations or shared desktops is awesome. Plus, as the host, you have control over the meeting even from your phone! I'll be using this application a ton.
