I love this application. Whenever my Windows Mobile friends lord Mobile Office over me, I whip out Documents and show them how much faster and better it is. The Google sync is a bit clunky, but it always works. The limited file support is not really an issue, as most of my stuff is in Office formats anyhow. The actual interface is functional if not ultra-aesthetic, and everything is findable and not hidden. The whole application is great, and I can't wait to see what neat features are enabled in the future! Great job, Savy Soda!

Basically I've been wanting a solid excel type application on my iPod for a while now, and this is the first one that I have been remotely satisfied with. As an airshare user, I have been basically in no-edit jail, and I feel very much set free by this app. That said, the description of the features provided by the vendor is highly misleading. Ad elsewhere noted, this app does NOT sync with gdocs, though it is effective in downloading an uploading files to and from a google account you specify. This is deliberately misleading, and I would not have been dissapointed at all had the description of the feature been accurate. Hopefully the programmers will find a way to legitimately sync with gdocs, because then this app might actually become noteworthy. Of course, if the promise of future updates is to believed, true syncing is in the works.Then there are some usability gripes. There is no multitouch support for things like highlighting multiple cells (an ability that as far as I can tell is just impossible), zooming in and out of the worksheet, etc. It is also annoying that you have to click the formula bar to bring up the keyboard after clicking a cell.All in all, an honest effort with promise, marred only by unfulfilled promises. Good luck with improving this app.

Does sync properly with Google

My main requirement was to actually sync with Google and this app does it quite well, at least for txt documents. I have not found any other app that can do this. One basic feature missing in 1.1 is the ability to email a document, every other memo type app can do this. The other problem is the application is not listed or supported on Savy Soda's web site. They talk about the spreadsheet program, but not the document program.

This is a great app for doing light work on the go ( as the decription for the app says) but the user interface is kind of complicated. 1. The buttons for add new folder and spreadsheets/ Text document are highlited green which makes it complicated when you open the folder which is also highlited green. There should just be a + button at the top that you press then it ask you for folder, spreadsheet, or text document.2. When you open a folder It doesn't display the name of of it, just three dots. That make it hard if you have many folders.3. When making a spreadsheet you can't zoom in.Those are the only things that need improvment, otherwise it is worth every penny.To the developer:I do know how hard coding is and don't expect an update soon

I think this app is great!! It is exactly what I have been looking for. The program is better than the apple notes program because you can rotate the view for a larger keyboard. Once you get used to the keyboard, you can type pretty fast. I use it for notes in class. The spreadsheet part of the program is great as well. All is very easy to use and everything syncs to google docs very well.
Some improvements that could be made:
Text Editor:
1. More functionality with word processing. Works well but would be nice if you could turn on automatic bullets.
2. Text justification is needed and necessary. Also, when transferring to Google, please make sure it retains the justification.
3. The ability to bold, underline, & italicize text.
4. Take a look at the program "MagicPad". It's very similar to apple's notes program however they have added some functions for bold, under, & italicize as well as font heights, and colors. Also included in "MagicPad" are some very nice functions such as copy, cut and paste; with some easy ways to execute these commands.
Spreadsheet:
1. Works well, however when functions are already in place and rows/columns are inserted, functions have to be updated to include new rows/columns.
2. The ability to select cells when using functions as opposed to typing cell locations (ie. A1:A10)
3. More functions. Basics are here, but more would be nice.
4. More cell formating conditions would be nice too.
Other than these few items, the program is great and I am extremely happy with it. Well worth the $5 bucks!! Thanks!

Good-getting better

It's a very basic spreadsheet, and a very basic text editor - but that's what I wanted. I track car mileage and have some other basic spreadsheets I use, the text editor's 2 advantages are horizontal editing and the google upload. which brings me to what I think is a bug. In the new version it's crashing when I try and upload to google. I've only had the new version for an hour so it could be me, but if this is happening to others it needs to be fixed. The great part about the new version is when you copy and paste a formula, it now updates the formula automatically (copy C2/D2 into the 3rd row and it pastes as C3/D3). update - upload is working, I never had a problem before, but I guess the reviews of it being "flakey" are true.

I think the developers of this app have real potential to take the lead and to turn this app into the "Lotus" suite of wordprocessing/spreadsheet for this platform.It would be really great to have some basic formatting options for text documents and stuff in a future update.I hope the full potential of this app will be realized. It just needs a few more features then it can truly be great.This app is one to watch and could be an essential app to have on your device if the develoment continues otherwise someone else will come along and do it better which I hope does not happen!

Customer service did not exist for me, no replies to my emails so I had to work things out myself.
Eventually I got it working the way I wanted it to
Integrates well with google docs. Occasionally 'no memory' pop up but resetting fixes that. The page can be expanded yes, but not shrunk. However landscape works fine.
Remember to save save save . Handy tool for out and about but will never replace a laptop or DT program.
I would recommend it as one of the best available atm....I Know, I tried the others!!! Lots of room for improvement but well worth the price. Buy it, it works.

The ability to view/edit google doc's from my iphone is a very good thing.I dont want expensive complicated backup procedures.I will not pay for the convenience of mobile me because it is buggy, unreliable & overpriced.Google seems to be the next best thing.1) Iphone supports imap connection to gmail. Email is on my iphone & gmail.2) iphone supports exchange servers so syncing my contacts & calendars via nueva server to gmail & gcalendar is seamless. 3) documents now allows my iphone to sync documents with google servers!Sweet!This app just needs inclusion of a wifi/3g webdav drive to facilitate moving docs off my mac & on to my iphone to be perfect!

I am so glad I ran into this app in the app store. I can see me using the app a lot. I really don't see why people are complaining. There will be future updates. Just be patient people.

This is the most usefull app I have. It gives me more excuses to stop using my computer. It would be nice if we could have a powerpoint feature.

I just love the google sync. That's probably the best feature. Also spreadsheets in this app is perfect for creating flash cards to study on the go using iflip lite which uses a two coulmn google spread sheet to crest the front and back of flashcards.

Folders on Google Documents

Hi to all of those that wrote the reviews-thank you! I have been looking for a way to sync my documents with my iTouch for school and other projects. I was upset to find out that unlike my old PDA my iTouch couldn't do this. And now thanks to this program it does.
I'll only need the document sync. For the other aspects-please look at the other reviews.

Don't Buy

Documents synced with Google don't come out right. The text is all garbled. I spent a lot of time syncing my docs only to see they are messed up on my iPod Touch. They are fine on Google. But the sync doesn't work. Wait for Docs2Go or Quick Office. I want my money back.
