I have uploaded a couple gigs worth of video and data files with the app. For those having problems finding the upload address, make two notes: be sure you have the address right, it changes when you restart the app, so saving the address in the browser will not work.. And the last punctuation is a colon, not another period. Then be patient, you may need to retry once or twice, but it works great.
Hiding folders is easy and the folder does not show up on iTunes if it is hidden.
And so does the unzip, though it is slow (but then, it's on an iPod or iPhone, not a 3GHz Intel box with 4 gigs of RAM and a terabyte of storage...)
The app works as advertised, and I am quite satisfied. I have not used it to read PDFs, so I can't report on that. But all I can say is, thanks, guys.

Man when I got this I was a little hesitant just cuz I thought I wouldn't know how to use it. Man. When I got the hang of it it's great. Perfect. I could see all of my files from the computer that I wish I had at work just to refer back to it. I love the password protection and the hiddin folders. Works like a charm so people don't know what you have. One I would like to be able to edit text from certain files. That would be so great and convinient. Buy as of now it's great. I recommend it to people that have files and would like to take a look at them in other places other than at home. I see word, excel, notepad and mp3s I'm able to listen to them. Awsome. And even movies or music videos. It's a great app.

Okay so I'm not computer genius because I could not get my system to recognize the way the program says to upload files using the HTTP server. I kept getting error messages saying I was behind a router and needed to set my "port forward" to recognize port 80. After several hours of researching this and trying different port forwarding software options I was about to give up and dump this program. I kept pressing forward though because the concept of this app is great. I'm a Drill Sergeant in the U.S. Army and we have tons of manuals we need to reference for classes, etc. I wanted to download pdf files to keep with me to have an instant military library with me at all times.
FINALLY, I went to ESNIPS.COM and registered for free. You get 5GB of free load space. I simply uploaded my docs on my page and then when inside FOLDERS, I did the web browsing option went to the esnips.com site and downloaded them from there. I'm perfectly satisfied with this app now as I can use it. I have windows vista and a Comcast wireless router and I guess the security system on these platforms is way to powerful for my knowledge to get through it.
With this easy patch fix I'm using, the app goes well and beyond the $2 price tag for me... worth every penny!

Hide, don't just lock

Great application. I like being able to hide some things and keep other things out as a decoy.To the guy who restored his phone, press the big help button that is on the screen. There are instructions about restoring. Your password was reset to 'psswd' when you restore from backup. I can't believe how many one star reviews this app gets when all people need to do is hit the help button and get answers.

This piece of software works perfectly! (Reading the comments made me worried and skeptical before downloading... I'm glad I gave it a try!)

Easily the best piece of software on the iTunes without a doubt... opened up a new world of possibilities. Can read PDFs perfectly!
Transfer speed over local wifi is blazing fast. Sweet.

the fact that you can set password or visibility of folders is useful (generally I don't passcode my iPhone it's quicker but obviously vunerable) it adds the privacy element - I have used filemagnet on other iPhones and I have airsharing installed and agree it is a valid alternative - but more expensive now with different functionality - there is also the Advert driven discover. I thought the other reviews a liitle extreme hence the extra star.

quick easy to use, no fuss, pop files wireless from 1 network and put them on another, just like a wireless memory stick,
if ur reading these creators ractor, an option to have the connection between computer and iphone, when i was downloading i was texting quite a few people and had to exit text and start download again, then forget to enter password, big palvar (not) but if u no wat im on about, tis a suggestion

i read about this app in a mac magazine this month and decided to give it a try. i don't understand why people complain about not being able to figure this app out. it is really easy and has a step by step help guide built in to the app, not many apps do!
to make a long story short this app delivers! i have some of my work documents in locked folders and some of my "personal" (wink, wink!) documents in hidden folders and everything works great. haven't had a problem with any of the supported file types. i have word documents, excel documents, power points, jpgs and movies in it right now and that covers everything i need!

My apologies to the developer of this software. It's my fault. I was hasty in using it till panic why it did not work in the 1st place. I read the wrong instruction in the developer website. I read the Folders-Pro section. I should have read the Folders-Private file section. After carefully reading it.....it works amazingly good like what I expect it should be. I can hide my videos file now. If it can works on video, I can confident it can works on others like Photo or anything eles which I have not try yet. That's what I hope the software can do. Thank you very much for this piece of fantastic software. YES! ps - I took day off to figure how this software works and it's worth it :)

Well crafted application for the price point. This is as good as the other applications, however I'd pay more to either you or to Apple if they created an App that had these features, from the beginning. What's Missing:If you could add the ability to save pages, Web or import. This would make this application the best of them all. This one format would make this more than an empty undeveloped phone. I'd pay for this feature. Apple didn't either think of Copy and Paste. The formats seem fine, future developers may add the ability to open these documents using an editor that you probably buy elsewhere, would make a lot more sense, not just sending an email.It's easily connectable, User Guide is helpful, firewall may cause problems, but works as it should.If I could create folders inside an exisiting one. Bookmarks, remember history. Viewing a bit more faster, loads fast, but a bit faster?I don't want to be sharing on another server, Instapaper, offl webpages directly, would make iPhone great as a mobile web application. Folders has a lot of features, security of data, accessibility, and viewing in wide mode as well.Buy it, but also develop further. Continue developing this application.

Very good app. Works to secure all types of files. The browser WiFi loader alows you to load video and picture files directly without having to sync through iTunes. iPhone is such a great phone but there are really glaring problems with file handling - very restrictive to move or delete picture or video files from the phone without iTunes interface. This app allows all files including videos to be deleted directly from the phone without iTunes.

Easy to add files to Folders

At first I got a little frustrated with this application, but after trying out Papaya to "host" my files, things went smooth. All you have to do (on a MAC), if you don't want to mess with Web Sharing that is. Download and install Papaya (easily available on the web) From there you not only share files with your friends and co workers over the internet without the hassle of Web Sharing, but also you're giving yourself an option for easy addition of files of any kind to Folders. I don't really care if I can't view, edit, or attach files... I use folders as a form of a backup in addition to my MobileMe account. Hope this helps everyone!

The locking feature alone, makes this well worth the money.

There are times when a friend or family member needs or wants to borrow your iphone. The problem with this is that some of these good folks have a little condition known as nosey-itiis. Nosey-itis and the possibility of losing your iPhone makes this app more then worth the 1.99 in my opinion.
The ability to lock individual folders is great. This is the only app of this type with a folder locking feature in the app store.

I bought the other apps for files but this beats all hands down. 1) Easy to use 2) All I wanted was a copy of my calendar from my home computer and all the data on it.I can now just open a file to a picture of my monthly calendar from a .pdf I create every month. 3) I have a PC and Wifi at home and this program was simple to use which many are not. Very nice app and worth the $$ ,1/21/2009 had it for over a week now-love it.

This is the best app I have used for storing my personal files. Although having to transfer files wirelessly is a bit time consuming for large files. But it works perfect as im an expert in most computer and networking situations. So all in all the only feature that it needs now is being able to transfer files via USB through itunes. If u dont know much about computers and networking getting the files on the ipod will be a difficult task.

I purchased this app today looking forward to keeping some files handy. I was at first disappointed when I kept getting an error message. After emailing Ryan it was determined the problem is a fault with Mac OS 10.5 that has a fairly simple resolution. Within minutes I was able to retrieve any file I wanted to keep on my iPod. I recommend this program to anyone who wants to keep files on their iPod/iPhone.

This app can be used for all it says and more, holding your Word Documents, Photots, Videos, even .exe's (programs). You can always have handy programs you may need to install on your iPod with this. You can have photos that can be transfered to other computers and viewed same with videos. It's a great alternitive to a flashdrive ie of course you have wifi (as i'm not sure if you can use it without wifi).

What is all the fuss about!

I was hesitant to purchase this software because of all the negative feedback to do with file transfer. But for $2 it was worth the risk and it paid off. If you read the tutorial on-line then it is so so so so easy, I was transfering files 5 minutes after I had bought the Application and it is just as easy to upload files to another computer. All in all it does what is should and it is $2, say no more!

This app combines the ability to store data on the phone in an organized way (folders) with the ability to secure any or all folders behind passwords. I've seen apps that let you store notes behind passwords, and I've seen apps that let you upload data without password protection. This one is the best of both worlds, and it works great. Two features that I look forward to in the future are the ability to upload files in bulk (which they tell me they've already done and it's coming in the next release) and the ability to sort files alphabetically. Even while waiting for these features, I'm a very happy user.

This was my first iPhone app ever! I am using this app for few months now. It is a great way to carry all the sensitive files with you on your iPhone by password locking it or even better, make 'em invisible!!! :)My iPhone keeps exchanging hands when I go to school or when my cousins drop by, so this app helps me to hide my personal stuff and not worry about my files being accessed by others.It has a few issues to be fixed like being able to save multiple files at a time, maybe be able to view thumbnails in the folders created. I'm sure these issues or enhancements will be addressed in future updates.Great app for the price! 5stars!!!
