Description:

iTimes TimeTracker is a very easy to use time tracking tool for Apple's iPhone/iPod touch products. It is meant for all of us who need to report times spent on projects and project sub tasks.
Usage: Simply add items to iTimes TimeTracker and tap the "start" button on your current activity. iTimes starts to continously update the time spent on this activity.
If you have to switch to a different activity, tap "start" on the new activity. The old item is paused and can be reactivated at any time.
In case you have to report times spent on subtasks, you can very easily create a hierarchically ordered set of activity items. A started sub item automatically updates the total time of the parent item(s).
If you put a parent item on pause (e.g. via a switch to another item at the same level) an active sub item is automatically paused, too. This sub item is then displayed with status "yellow" instead of "red" because it wasn't stopped explicitly but indirectly because of the status change of its parent item. If you later restart the parent item, the previously active sub item timer is automatically restarted, too.
iTimes TimeTracker can be closed to use other iPhone/iPodTouch functions and applications while a timer is active. It will then show a red badge on the application's icon to remind you that a timer is still running.
The collected data can be exported via mail in an Excel friendly CSV format. While the front end only shows the accumulated item times, this mail export also reveals the details of all recorded start/stop time stamps in addition to the accumulated times.
iTimes TimeTracker was developed with business use in mind but it's a great tool for private activities, too. E.g., for sports activities like jogging or inlining it's great to record times for predefined route sections and the total route time.
If you create day based group items you can always compare your new times with yesterdays results.

Excellent!  rating of iTimes TimeTracker

The ability to toggle between timers is perfect for those ( like me) who multi-task all day long. I'd like to see this tool also capture the amount of time spent in other applications (automatically). For example time I spend on the phone or in calendar or in email ... I'd like to have a way to group the applications into a timer group. Such as games and pandora go into entertainment and phone, mail, calendar go into communicating. Other than that right now it's a great tool.

AMAZING GUI & EASE OF USE!  rating of iTimes TimeTracker

I really like this program! I wanted to track the amount of Time I WASTED while working on my Most Important Tasks (I setup 3 MITs every day). It was very simple to set up all the Procrastinating Tasks (eating/bathroom breaks, Net-surfing/computer-organizing) separate from the actual Work Tasks. Unlike the Chain Timer and Routine Programs which are useful for standalone multi-step tasks with Large Screen Count-Down Timers, this program acts like a multi-way COUNT-UP Chess Timer for Large Scale Projects where as soon as you Click Start on one activity, the other activity stops timing but can resume again resulting in collective time data capture. This is essentially a Cumulative Count-UP Timer. The most important feature and strength of these timers is that they continue to run even when you exit the program (say you needed to check incoming e-mail (another interruption/time waster!). I was amazed that the program continued from where it left off even when my iTouch accidentally re-booted itself in the middle of doing something else (yes ... it still happens on a 2nd gen iTouch with Software 2.1.1!) ... The program has thus been rock-stable for a 1.0 version as of 30Oct2008.

Great timesheet program  rating of iTimes TimeTracker

This is a great timesheet application. It provides a 3 click timesheet entry solution:
1 Click to wake-up your iPhone
1 Click to start iTimes TimeTracker
1 Click to start the timer
The hierarchical job structure lets you track project times with the right granularity level: for small project, it can be a single project entry. Larger projects can be organized by phase, activity etc. The application doesn't impose a structure on you, it gives you a lot of flexibility. You can use this to track jobs by client: just put the client as the top-level entry and the projects under that.
The simple CSV email export lets your process and format your time data on a PC. It would be nice if the individual time entries had the elapsed time, although that can be computed with some excel gymnastics.
The only other thing missing is the ability to manually change time entries. This is needed when you forget to turn a timer on or off.
iTimes TimeTracker is well worth the price if you need quick, easy and accurate time tracking.

My favorite time tracker  rating of iTimes TimeTracker

This program is a bit of inspired genius. I had a little trouble figuring out how to use the interface--- but after I did, the program is delightful in its functionality. I've used it for a while and find it solid, more so than other apps of the same ilk. Enhancements? I'm very satisfied with the current version to the point I'd gladly pay more.

I was looking for a simple app that allows me to easily switch back and forth from different work projects that are ongoing. This app works perfectly for me.

Functions as advertised  rating of iTimes TimeTracker

Hey, caveat emptor, you know? This app is stable and does exactly what it says it does. I've used it for about 45 days and have been happy with it. I think I've received good value for my money. I note that it's been in the app store for a long (relative) time with no upgrades to functionality, inspite of user suggestions; it can be improved upon. But, again, it works as described.

GM  rating of iTimes TimeTracker

Great product. It has all that you need and nothing more! Very acutate timer, easy to set up and easy to use!I would like to see that if I want to start my drill down or sub clock that after starting the main clock I should only have to start that particular clock, which would automatically start the sequence of clocks. So, if I set my group as work\managers\name of manager, I should first have to start "work's" timer then once I get to my particular managers nam - in my case one of 15 -the clock for manager started automatic with the start of the name of my managers clock. Also, it would be great to be able to reset only one clock rather than the group clock. After some time using the program it would be nice to have a better export to excel.

Make it more efficient  rating of iTimes TimeTracker
By: DutchDutch.99 - May 28, 2009
Version: 1.1.1
The best of this type of app, but it can use improvements. First of all, there is no need to press start on both a sub category and a parent whatever. I should be able to go into my task z folder within my site y folder within my client x folder within my work folder and press start without having to back out of the whole thing to then press start on that parent folder to actually start the damn thing. Also a toggle button to see time spent as a total or as a percentage of time spent within a folder would be cool.

This is a really good app for tracking time, I've been looking for a good tool to do this for ages and now I've found it ! The only reason I've given it 3 stars instead of 4 or 5 is that the .csv output is not very good and doesn't represent the time easily. If you can develop something improve the output to deilver a usuable table or chart this would be the perfect app !

Most limited  rating of iTimes TimeTracker
By: RichEsq - Jan 18, 2009

This is a stopwatch with different lines for different stopwatches. For a professional it is fairly useless as you can not adjust the time or enter it in manually. As a stopwatch - it is fine - but for a person who needs to track time in real life - it is a waste of money.

I have emailed the app designer with suggestions to improve the emailed summary file. But no reply. 4 stars if this is improved. Listen to your customers!

Needs lots more work  rating of iTimes TimeTracker
By: mate..o - 12-Apr-2009
Version: 1.1.1
Friendly intuitive interface. Unfortunately it crashes frequently having only 2 categories with 2 subtasks each. No way to edit time entries within the app.To start a task the user must press start on the category page then drill down to the subtask and press start there also. Requires alot of impractical navigation for those who want to spend their time on the job and not on time entry. This app has potential but still needs alot of development.Without updates and bug fixes this app will not serve even the most modest of needs.
