Description:
Jobs has just the right features to make it a powerful time tracker, but none of the fluff, so it is intuitive and lightning fast to use. Creating time sheets has never been simpler—add a job, then press play to start tracking. Each job features an hourly rate, initial fee, associated client and total time spent on the job, broken into sessions. ✔ Multiple timers Jobs can ensure only a single job is running or can run several job timers at once. You can even choose to keep timers running while Jobs is closed. ✔ Sessions Every time you start or stop working on a job, Jobs logs it. Sessions can be manually created, edited and deleted. ✔ Exporting Jobs lets you export individual jobs or all jobs for a client as CSV or plain text via email. ✔ Currencies Jobs supports most of the different currency symbols of the world, like $, €, ¥ and more. Jobs will be improved over time until we’re convinced it can’t get any better. Visit bjango.com for more info and screenshots. “A time-tracker glistening with features and good design.” Apple Insider “Tracking time is very easy—just select a job and touch the large start button. Task time is tracked until you press stop, even if the device sleeps, you run other applications, or get a call on your iPhone.” Dale Gardner, Macworld ♥ Follow us: twitter.com/bjango

Best time tracker for the iPhone thus far, although not perfect. By: thx11381138 - Sep 10, 2009 Version: 1.2 This app is essential for the freelancer on the go but is lacking a few things that would make it the best time tracker ever. (For the record I haven't experienced the data dissapearing problem which would most certainly change my rating)1. Quickbooks export. Would love to see all of the TT info propegate the invoice. 2. The ability to add multiple email adresses to an export. *** (this is huge!! Would like to CC myself onthe exported emails.)3. The ability to assign the multiple adresses to each client. ***(this is huge as well) 4. Would like to be able to select which redundant information associated with each client automatically propegates the invoice. (not a biggie but would be nice.) Thanks for a great app.

Life Saver By: Snork_Maiden - 10-Jun-2009 Version: 1.2 I have 5 casual jobs over 3 different workplaces. Trying to keep track of my hours has always been the bane of my existence, little pieces of paper everywhere and lots of lost hours. In fact I'd just put off doing it most of the time and then go back through the paper trail of emails and document save times to figure out my hours once a month! This app is simple and fun enough that I always remember to use it. Exporting all the hours and times at the end of each month is all I need to do now. BLISS! Seriously great app, looks cool too.

The one I was waiting for By: yoink - 2-Feb-2009 Version: 1.2 This app has almost everything: 1. Tap-to activate jobs (just tap on the little clock) 2. Multiple jobs active simultaneously 3. A round-up feature 4. Ability to define multiple clients, price-points etc. and so much more. It also works well. Even more importantly, the developer answers messages promptly, and in coherent, complete sentences! There are some shortcomings, but considering how much this app does right, it's worth at least $10 to me, so the $1.99 special right now (as of this review) is a steal. I'd give it 4.5 stars, but like the app, it's rounded up. Thanks!
Great for tracking job hours By: Angultra - 7-Feb-2009 Version: 1.2 I picked up this program because it got a lot of good reviews, and was the cheapest time tracking program with an export feature (so I could have a document to bill my client with). I'm only working on a single job, but this would work well with multiple jobs as well. I like the fact that even with the program closed, if a job is running you see a little "1" on the icon, the same as if you have an e-mail in the mail app. That way you can make sure you're on the clock with just a glance. And if you forget to start / stop the clock, no worries. Just open the program and edit the times for your session. Tracks your exact times you punch in and out as well, so I can take my lunch break with the touch of a button. A couple features I would like to see is a cumulative counter for a day. For example if I work 4 sessions one day, I have to manually add them up to see if I got enough hours in the day. Only the total for the entire project length is given. And although I don't need it right now, an option to export with all the session times could be useful (when you export it only gives you total project time). Otherwise, excellent program!
Great for small business! By: TorSom - 29-Oct-2008 Version: 1.01 Nice app for a nice price. I use this app to track time for work and it works very well for that purpose. One thing that would be a great feature would be the ability to add a brief description (of the work done) in the sessions part of the app. This would be great to organize multiple task times needing different names under the same job. Hopefully this will be coming soon in a future update!

Definatley worth it! By: cupcakes r us - Mar 3, 2009 Version: 1.2 This app is great, does everything it says it does! As a nanny i have to keep track of my own hours, and my schedule changes every week! I've tried some other apps similar to this, but this one is by far the best value, simplest to use with an eye pleasing minimalistic look to it. I only have one suggestion at this time, make it a little more obvious how to edit a specific "session" and add the seperate ability to insert a session if you miss one. (I "clocked in" for 3 seconds and edited it so it showed the appropriate time for one day, took me a minute to figure out just where to do that!) Other than that, great job!

I like this By: Not Cowboy - Oct 18, 2008 Version: 1.0 There seem to be a lot of these apps out there but these guys make some really nice apps for the Mac so I thought I would give them a try. The interface is fairly intuitive. I'm basically using this as punch clock so it would be nice to be able to turn off the rate and flagfall, i.e. I don't even want to see $ in any of the displays. The only other thing that I'd like to see is the ability to add notes to sessions in addition to jobs. Otherwise I'm a happy customer.
Project Director By: USFBeth - Mar 19, 2009 Version: 1.2 I'm assessing this app for use by my project management office team. We are trying to track time spent managing each of our projects in order to provide a more accurate representation of our time so we can better assess our capacity for other projects. So far, I'm finding this app easy to use and overall it meets my needs and expectations. I hesitate to give it 5 stars because of two minor irritants: there should be the ability to export some or all jobs at once, instead of only one by one; and there needs to be the ability to get back to the main Jobs menu from the Jobs button, instead of having to navigate backwards back to the main Jobs menu. While I will continue evaluating this app over the next few weeks, at this point, I think I would be comfortable making this available to my staff.
Best time-keeping app I've seen By: trousyt - May 14, 2009 Version: 1.2 I love this app - just a couple of recommendations: 1) Since there's a check in each job to mark it as Invoiced, it would be nice if Invoiced and Non-Invoiced jobs could be filtered so I would only see one or the other on the Jobs or Jobs/Clients screen. 1a) Once filtered, it would be nice if I could export only the Non-Invoiced jobs. 2) When you go into the Clients screen, click on a client and then click on a job, clicking the Back button takes you back to the Jobs screen and not back to the client screen you were just on. Very time consuming if you're trying to edit time on jobs for a specific client. Other than that - great job!
Nice start By: Hawk wind - Jan 29, 2009 Version: 1.2 I have just started to try using this app, and it's a great start. I would like to see a few new features though. 1. would be great if we could link more than 1 contact to a client, one for the person you would send an invoice to, and one for your main contact. 2. would love to be able to assign a different rate to each client. I do different kinds of consulting, and some clients get different rates from me because I do different types of work for them. 3. would be nice to see some kind of indication on the Jobs screen when you have checked Invoiced in the Job Details. Filtering this screen into sections by invoiced or not? (with invoiced at the bottom of the list under a divider bar) Looking forward to future updates :) Update1: 4. wish I could choose what data I want to see on the CVS exports.
Does what I want By: Atanguay - Aug 8, 2009 Version: 1.2 As a freelancer, I looked carefully at all of the time tracking apps out there. Jobs did what I wanted out if a time tracking app. A nice timeclock mode that let me punch in and out of a project, a base hourly rate and the ability to edit hour entries.I also enjoying how much I'm making minute by minute. Makes freelancing a bit easier when you can see the money pile up.I Also really like the simple and attractive app icon. Some developers neglect this.
Thought this was a perfect program until I found... By: designgirl72 - Mar 19, 2009 Version: 1.2 You can't review all your project times for the day at one time. You have to go through every individual job to see the time you worked that day. I work on several projects for different clients every day. I need to be able to see my full day at one glance to see what jobs were worked on and the hours worked on them. I am really sad I won't be able to use this program now, everything else about it was great and so simple to use. If you could add a way to view your entire day at a glance I could use this program again.

Simple & Well Done Time Tracking By: ti2v78 - Jan 14, 2009 Version: 1.2 For the purpose of time tracking and getting your data from the app, this is one of the easiest to use tracking systems I downloaded (I downloaded a few). For billing purposes, I'm really not sure why the money features were included ... any system out there that I've worked with for invoicing will import the files that are exported and is far better at it (tracking customer information, inventory, etc). Upsides: Easy to enter data (manually or auto-tracking) Easy to get data from the system (via email) Wish-List: - I wish they would add two fields to a job: "Contact" and "Reference". This would let me track vs. a reference or purchase order without having to put it in the description of the job. - As well, adding an "item" to a job would be nice - to track incidental non-time data such as travel expenses or on-job items that are sold/given to the customer
A Nice Little Job Tracking Program By: iPhone4tom - Jun 14, 2009 Version: 1.2 Apple had this program in one of its iPhone print ads, and I thought I'd give it a try. I use Jobs to track my billing time when working for a single client. The interface is simple and straight forward: to start your billing time, you select the Client, click the start arrow button (like play on a media player), then when finished hit stop. It allows for flagfall, rate per hour with the ability to round the time blocks up or down, and to keep track of sessions. In my case, I bill on 15 min blocks which I have to round down. Jobs lets me do this with ease. You can manually adjust the time with the iPhone time/date wheels (like on iCal - I just love these things). After you start your billing time, Jobs runs in the background, and you use the iPhone normally. You can even put it in sleep mode and it still runs (unless you select Pause When Closed in Settings). However the nagivation is a little awkward in places. For instance, to look at the billing sessions for the client, you click on the time display on the Jobs window and it brings up the Sessions. This took me some time to find when first using the program. They probably should also link to the Sessions page through the Client window. But this is a minor issue. The Sessions window is nicely organized for separate days divided into your time blocks. You can name each block and make comments to document your billing. After you're finished and ready to invoice, Jobs exports the invoice sheet via email in several formats, including CSV, XML, and text. I found the text format to be the easiest to use. You back up your data by email as well. It works well, it's simple and easy to use, which is just right for me.
