Worked it out and now perfect By: Harsh187 - 04-Aug-2008 Version: 1.0 Hi all, I got this a week ago, down loaded and ready to go could not connect didn't know what to do, but can tell you all,First mac user will use there mac vnc server, xp will need to find a free vnc server eg. Tightvnc,Set the password on the server, know your pc ip add, port 5900 on iPhone, and go, will work fine for most in your home network, if you use a wireless router your router mite output it's own id on the Internet meaning you can't access your pc when your not in your own wifi area, just seach on line for a 'vnc test' which will show the ip you are using then type that in the iPhone, should be fine, xp users need to use port 5901, hope this helps everyone, if anything I missed add it to your message to help other,Great appHarsh
Lightning Fast...Even on 3G By: airmanchairman - 26-Feb-2009 Version: 2.0 Just upgraded to the full version, but must confess to being mighty satisfied with the Lite version. Still cannot get over the near-instantaneous connection OVER 3G to my Win XP PC at home from a train station platform 20 miles away or my workplace twice as distant. Over Wi-fi from work it's frighteningly blinding quick (around 1 sec). It took some configuring to get it as responsive within my LAN as from outside, but that is all router service and port forwarding configuring, nothing really to do with this app, and once done correctly it has been plain sailing. Satisfied enough to upgrade to the paid version... this application is worth the money, and its developer worth encouraging to surpass him/her self...
Amazing! By: Tombolow - 22-Jul-2008 Version: 1.0 I could not believe my eyes when I saw a VNC client in the app store and not only that it was free! It worked perfectly except for one major flaw, the free version has no ctrl+alt+del support so if your planning on using it with server 2003 you can forget it. However the full version does support this plus the F keys and windows key etc. So full remote desktop from your phone/touch all for £3.49! Best app so far in my opinion :) Thank you Mocha.
Awesome By: Alphabase - 8-Feb-2009 Version: 2.0 I was torn between this and Jadu. After trying the free version of this app I was very impressed! Very stable never crashed and quick synch! I upgraded to this full version and it's awesome. My only beefs are the win key doesn't seem to work and I wish there was a shift key for use in selecting many files. Honestly why pay so much more for Jadu? I have my parent's PC set up with tightVNC and can access it securly over the net with this app and easily troubleshoot any problems they run into. Highly recommended!
(REVISED RATING TO 5. Both requests MET!) By: digidoc-peter - 21-Aug-2008 Version: 1.1 (just revised my star rating to five due to the incredibly quick response to the two issues listed below. So as you read on please remember that the issues have been addressed.)Listen folks. Of course this is an incredible utility and it works fabulously, and yes, it is absolutely incredible at the price of just $5.99, but WHY oh WHY is there: 1. an artificial limit of just 6 hosts in the host list?? I have 3 clients and collectively I have to monitor 11 PCs in their offices. Here I am limited to just 6? Why not an unlimited number that you can keep adding as needed. 2. No provision to include a simple text field that will allow me to insert a written description of the host PC e.g. Janine's computer, Dolphin Server PC etc. A long list of IPs is a tough way to identify which PC you are about to access. Please could these be added in an upcoming update. That WOULD make it an absolutely PERFECT app and have me revising my 3 stars to 5 in a flash.
Great product By: telchoix - 29-Nov-2008 Version: 1.1 It run perfectly on my iPod touch 2.1 and now 2.2 version. Never Crash. In fact i'm using this application 5 to 10 times a day from 1 month.
Does what it says By: Feefer2 - Nov 15, 2009 Version: 2.3 Great support from dev to get it running; once you do, it works great! About the only thing I was hoping that Mocha VNC could do is support Command-Tabbing, which is how Apple handles application switching. Unfortunately, the program doesn't recognize when the Command key remains depressed. On a 'real' keyboard, hold the Command key depressed while tapping the Tab key. A pop-up appears, and tabbing cycles over a pop-up menu to select a desired app. Once high-lighted, release the keys and the selected app is now active. You also can cycle in reverse (hold the shift key, too; or simply tap the ` key along with the Command key). Perhaps a future update will support the Cmd key being locked after a few seconds of being depressed (in a 2 position-toggle), much like how mouse clicks currently change color (from black to red to blue) to indicate which state it is in, thus supporting advanced mouse functionality... Command-Tab is just as important to me.
Absolutely great VNC client By: chipnuts - Aug 1, 2008 Version: 1.0 I've been using this since it's been out and have only had a handful of problems. Using this with UltraVNC has been a dream. And since I can run this through my company's VPN I don't have to worry about snooping, etc. I've been able to run this through Wifi and 3G with virutally no problems. There have been some phone BSOD (Blank Screen Of Death) restarts just from starting the program, but those have been maybe 5% of the times I've used it. But once it's logged on it hasn't BSOD'd on me once. There's only a couple things that made me consider giving 4 stars instead of 5 stars: One is the small list (6!) of computers I can store when I have about 15 between work and home that I connect to at various times to check on renders, server jobs, troubleshoot, etc. Two, the res rectriction, but I only have 1 computer that is dual monitor. Other than that, I have had a great experience with this and the lite versions of this app. The interface could use some dolling up with respect to the secondary keyboards, but that's easy enough to fix in an update. To some people that complain about the gray background or that the desktop doesn't snap to the edge, from my experience, it's easier to select stuff on the edges if you can move the edge to the center of the screen and zoom in and also having the buttons on the bottom of screen would be difficult to select the taskbar icons unless you could move the desktop up a bit. In other words I think it's a great functionality to move my desktop beyond its bounds in order to click accurately. I have also purchased Teleport as well and I kind of wish I hadn't now. This Mocha app works when I need it and I didn't have uninstall the VNC software I'm already using. The only 2 things Teleport does better is storing more than 6 named servers and the ability to have higher res screen. All in all, this is a Great app at an Amazing price.
Great App and works as expected By: Hchavarria - Jul 22, 2008 Version: 1.0 I have been using this app since I bought it to test it and so far it has worked perfect. I connected to my PC via VPN and then launched VNC and the connection is super fast without any issues. I recommend this app for anyone who requires remote access. I tried this on a Win XP and on a Server 2003 machine both had real fast responses and the connections never dropped in over 30 mins of usage. The error with connection others have had must be errors at their machines because I have disconnected and reconnect many times to see if errors would generate and none yet. I really like the ctrl alt del support and the left mouse click support. Great app and congrats to the developer.
Great App By: Foochar - Aug 8, 2008 Version: 1.0 This is a great app, and the TightVNC server is a free VNC server with a windows version. A few people have mentioned some problems in their reviews that I want to clarifyUpper Case-I have passwords that use upper case letters and have entered them with no problem.Ctrl-alt-del - if using TightVNC it must be run as a service for ctrl-alt-del to work, this is a TightVNC limitation not a mocha limitationEncryption/ssh tunnel - the U.S. Govt restricts the export of "strong" encryption and since the app store servers are in the U.S. mocha would be restricted as to who the app could be sold to, and would open themselves to potential litigation were an iPhone with controlled software taken to an export restricted country. This is the same reason mocha is selling a telnet client but no ssh client.

Good but features missing still... By: PDiddy481 - Feb 1, 2009 Version: 2.0 Ok, I was a bit unfair in my earlier review... I did not see the CTRL-ALT-DELETE button. You have to goto the second keyboard and press the >> key. Which is not apparent at all! Why not just have the button at the top? I still stand by my assertion that scrolling should be implemented. The prior vnc I had on my iphone had it where you could put one finger on the screen and then scroll with the other. All and all its fairly capable little app.
A must-have app for anyone who maintains servers By: moej0j0j0 - Jul 22, 2008 Version: 1.0 I tried the lite version and it was almost perfect. The only thing missing was a delete (or ctl+alt+delete shortcut) for logging into windows machines which this version adds. Though it did take me a minute to find it. (Second keyboard then press >> for another screen.) I like the Alt+F4 shortcut as well. Very handy as clicking accurately can be hit and miss when trying to close a window. I have experienced a few crashes but usually when trying to connect or edit the connections. No crashes (so far) once connected to a machine. It is a bit sluggish even over wifi but concidering all it's doing I'm not surprised. A couple things I'd like to see: A "back" button on the second page of "special" keyboard Macros that accept special keys Crtl+Alt+Del shortcut at top of main controls (along with just Crtl and Alt) Have not tried it on a mac but others have mentioned no option or apple key (can't remember which) which we need. Multi screen support would be nice I know most of these are Win specific (which is ironic since I'm a mac guy) but one last one would be ability to customize those top buttons where Crtl and Alt currently reside. Even though there can be some improvements I give this app 5 stars as it means I can restart crashed servers from just about anywhere and since I'm on-call 24-7-365 this is a HUGE + for me.
Works fine for me.. By: Kamakzie - Jul 22, 2008 Version: 1.0 I see some complaints but I just bought it and connected several times fine. I love this app, it works great. It does seem slower than VNsea (I saw the demo on youtube as I'm not jailbreaking my touch). So I'm hoping Mocha is working on updates that might make the app as speedy as VNsea. I love that I can send alt commands. Very nice app and well worth the money as I'm sure they will have some updates soon.
Works great for me By: kdoske - Jul 22, 2008 Version: 1.0 This works really good for me, its a little slow but its actually better then I expected on my wifi connection. I am also not sure what all the bad review are about either. One the mocha website they recommend RealVNC enterprise with vista.....this didn't work for me. I tired ultra VNC and it fired right up with not problems. Oh for the poster below, I am pretty sure the reason you can't connect to you computer when on 3g is becuase your port is not forwarded on your router. Use your internet IP in Mocha VNC for the computer that is the server , not the local IP address your router has designated your computer. Then forward your port, in my case port 5900, to what ever local ip address your router has designated for the computer you have the VNC server on. Hope this helps.
A bit troublesome in getting it installed, but that may be Apple's fault, not MochaSoft By: rmontyq - Jun 19, 2009 Version: 2.1 I don't know why the other two reviewers had issues. The first thing I did was to uninstall the Lite version (which btw, wipes out any settings you already had). I was repeatedly unable to install the application thru iTunes (purchased on the desktop thru the store as I could not find in in the store listing on the iphone itself). After several try's, I gave up and looked again on the iphone store (from the phone) and there it was! Selected install, (already paid, yes), and once it installed, immediately fired up the vpn, and connected directly to my CentOS 5 desktop and began using it. Love the addtional keyboards, the ability to create macro's for keystroke intensive, repeated work. The response was phenomenal, and worth the $6 bucks just for the additional keyboards (w/Function keys, WIN key, CTL/ALT, etc, etc) Now if they can get an SSH client out of the door they can get more of my money! I still appear to be having issues over the cellular network 2G/3G both, in that VNC never connects. I use VPN to connect, web browsing works just fine, but VNC never connects. If anyone has an idea of what to tweak, please let us know! Keep up the good work!
Very nice app By: JANDER22 - Aug 6, 2009 Version: 2.2 I suppose it depends on what you expect and what to do with it but I find this application to be very good. It works well with dynamic DNS and you control your PC ( or Mac) from anywhere in the world - how cool is that?! ;)I do have one suggestion though - it should specify somewhere that if you can't control the mouse you need to change the server settings. I had my ultrVNC server on read only and couldn't do anything. Once I switched the settings to full access everything was good. I ended up buying the full version anyway. I think the free version is very good and the developer deserves a lot of credit for a job well done!
Perfect By: Flare - Aug 13, 2009 Version: 2.2 This Applications was perfect when my parents needed me to print something, or send a file via email. I had perfect access to my computer's capabilities in the palm of my hand!I also used it to play my favorite MMORPG, Runescape, whenever I didnt feel like leaving my couch! This app is great, the developers though pat themselves on the back!P.S. You might want to add arrow keys that are easier to access, but no rush. Just an Idea.

Great, very happy with it By: INGY :) - 28-Dec-2008 Version: 2.0 Very happy with this works like a charm only one downside that I can find so far and that is that you can not drag windows about with it if that was add it would be a truly great application and is very responsive and accurate. Also to use it when you’re not using your wi-fi just portforward to your vnc port and then connect to your external ip to use it any were in the world. Quick note it is struggling to work with realvnc might just be my settings on realvnc so had to install tightvnc and run them side by side but connects straight away with tightvnc so if your having any problems with realvnc try tightvnc
You like 'Remote Play'? Then love this! By: Ant Law - 27-Jul-2008 Version: 1.0 I've never used VNC before but this even impressed my dad. Real great app, this is the only one I've paid for so far because you want all the function's like right-click, the free's fine as well but this is so useful I wanted more.I downloaded the free TightVNC off the Internet and installed it on my PC, then hovered over the icon in the tool bar to get my computers IP address, put this into my iPod's VNC app with the password I'd set-up and there you go, my computer wherever I go. One thing I found, make sure you set your desktop background as off on TightVNC software, it loads quicker as a plain background.Brill, I can do a full maintainance on my PC while I'm out and then shut it down, ow ye, I can also put naughty words into the search engine when my other half is upstairs on the PC and then roll about laughing at her reaction, ha ha.
