This makes the iPhone a SmartPhone By: BigBoy32gig - Jul 23, 2009 Version: 1.5.1 I had a Windows based phone before the iPhone so I was used to the ability of actually being able to store documents on the phone. Can't see how Apple over looked that. Especially having 32gigs of space. This app does solve that problem. This would be the complete doc app if it was possible to create and edit docs within this app. And to be able to clear the Recent list would be nice. But it's a breeze to import docs from wifi and from the free virtual space provided.
One of the Killer Apps By: Yorye - Jul 24, 2009 Version: 1.5.1 Does everything it says it will do very well. Almost complete control over documents. If only you could edit documents, it would be the perfect app. : Easily transfer documents to your iPhone from your PC via 3 different, but, equally useful ways depending on where you are. View them and email them from your iPhone, One very useful feature: attachments that you receive via email on your iPhone can be transferred to a ReaddleDocs folder on your iPhone. It takes one more step to do this than if you were on your PC, but it's simple and reliable. Almost everything I could ask for in a iPhone document manager. I had one support question via email and they were very responsive.
It does what I need it to do and does it well By: Olecranon - Aug 26, 2008 Version: 1.0.3 I needed an app for me to read PDF and MS Office documents offline (i.e. documents are stored on the iPhone itself). It seems that I downloaded the updated version because I don't seem to have the same problems some of the other reviewers have had. I have some fairly large files (10Mb PDF), though I don't read books or novels with my iPhone (I imagine those files may be larger). I can go to landscape view. I have around 50 documents that I can reference anytime now. Overall, I'm quite happy with the app because it adds functionality that I need to a device that I've already plunked a lot of money into.
Fantastic! At last a pdf and doc reader for the iphone and PCs By: JanaPainter - Aug 31, 2008 Version: 1.0.3 This program works fantastically! I had a reference book I wanted to access on my iphone without having to open my email and read the copy I emailed myself and wanted to be able to bookmark my pages. I can do that easily with this program that works very easily and just as described. It was well worth $15 bucks! I had no problems with it whatsoever and am really enjoying the PDF and Doc access as files rather than email attachments. YAY!
This could be a 5-star app, but... By: ZenInc - Dec 20, 2008 Version: 1.1.1 This review is based on the new version of Readdle Docs, released on 12/19/08. I previously reviewed the app and gave it 3 stars. I am increasing my rating to 5 stars based on the new version and the outstanding customer support. I was a long-time Air Sharing user. Readdle does absolutely everything Air Sharing can do--at least as well, if not better. You can access your documents over WiFi, view Office documents, pictures, movies, etc. I prefer Readdle's method of fast-scrolling large documents to that of Air Sharing, but everything else is the same--zooming, scrolling, etc. But Readdle also does several things that Air Sharing does not. 1. If you have a mail attachment, you can forward it to your Readdle account and then download it to your device. It's now on your iPhone, just like it would be if you'd transferred it over WiFi. 2. You can SEND email attachments. You can attach any file on your iPhone to an email and send it to anyone. It pulls right from your contacts, or you can enter an address manually. 3. You can download a document from the web to your iPhone. You can either enter the address directly in the Readdle browser, or you can browse to the page in Safari, and add an "r" to the beginning of the address. (That part is brilliant, and extremely useful.) 4. You can move files around into different folders, make new folders, rename folders, etc. all right from your device. 5. Create bookmarks within documents. I cannot stress this enough--this app does EVERYTHING Air Sharing and the other net drive apps do. But the functionality I've listed above places this app far above and beyond the rest. I have now removed Air Sharing from my iPhone in favor of Readdle Docs.
Readdle Doc Rocks!! By: worldbfree4u - Jan 13, 2010 Version: 2.0.1 It should be illegal to purchase such an awesome program for so cheap, it's like stealing. This is the best document management software for any price for a mobile device. I really like the feature that allows you to email documents to your account and they automatically get stored. If you want an app that will has the capabilities of reading most Word, Excel and PDF files with the ability to store them for later recall, then this app is for you. I am a very satisfied customer. Great app at an oustanding price.
Awesome app! By: sw33tchick - Sep 2, 2008 Version: 1.0.3 This is the most helpful app out there! I am a full time college student and live a very busy lifestyle, this app makes reading my textbooks on the go possible! I was constantly having problems because alot of my teachers put PDF's and word documents online for me to read for homework, but now it is possible to read them ehereever i am! I dont know about other people, but this app has been a lifesaver! It is wonderful, and there are plenty of different ways to get the documents sent into the app without even needing wifi! It might seem expensive to others looking at it, but once you see all it can do and how helpful it truly is, it is well worth the price!
Exactly what I need By: Jonathan Bloom - Mar 3, 2009 Version: 1.3.2 I was using OneDisk for iDisk and another product for the Flash Drive functionality. Well, I decided it was redundant to use two programs to achieve the same effect and that's why I got ReaddleDcos. It's completely worth it for me and I heard that syncing your local files to iDisk is coming soon. This will complete the integration of your flash drive and iDisk! :) I recommend this application because I NEVER lose my iPhone, but I've lost/misplaced quite a few flashdrives!
EXCELLENT APP AND PRICE!!! By: Love_KOOL_stuff - Jan 9, 2010 Version: 2.0.1 I would like to see a few changes. For example, in a spreadsheet you cannot enlarge very much, which is weird because you can in text documents. I would like a little better search feature in the documents also and the ability to print the docs. Other than my little "wish list", this is a GREAT app!!!!!!! It does so much more than the more expensive ones promise and fail to deliver. THIS ONE DELIVERS!! Connecting was so easy, I couldn't believe it! I went to Wi_fi, tapped on help and it gave me the correct IP along with the 2-step instructions! SO EASY! I don't need or want to create documents on my iPhone, I just want to be able to view the ones that I have created on my PC when I go on the road. Now I can take them with me. I took a 16 MB repair manual with me on my phone last week AND I was able to search through it and use it! This makes my iPhone PERFECT in my opinion! Before this I had a Palm Pilot and a Razr, both of which I loved, but now want to carry just one device. This app cinches that for me. REALLY, REALLY, GREAT price too!!
Kindle Killer By: Bretthowell - Jul 31, 2008 Version: 1.0.1 Just returned my Amazon Kindle. Readdle and iPhone (especially with landscape mode) blew it away for technical books in PDF. Kindle $349 vs Readdle $15, how can anyone consider that expensive? To top it off, I contacted support (about landscape, just before release) and the were quick, responsive, and friendly. Best of all open to feature ideas ;-)Thanks Readdle for making it possible to carry my entire reference book library, and saving me $$$ in the process.
elegant By: Stephie K. - Jan 9, 2010 Version: 2.0.1 One of the most interesting features is the local network iPhone support. If you have another iPhone on the same local network as you and each iPhone has ReaddleDocs installed, you can easily transfer files and documents using the app. This feature was particularly useful for me as it is much easier to send files to colleagues over the network than to use USB with their computers.I love the new interface.
So far - Very Good! By: TREX_444 - Aug 8, 2008 Version: 1.0.2 I use the iphone for work as well as personal. I work with a consulting firm so I get all kind of files - PDF's, Word docs and Excel spreadsheets - all have various formatting and images especially proposal and RFP docs. So far I have not had a single issue with this application. It is AWESOME! I have downloaded and viewed a 4 MB word doc - with lots of formatting, tables and images - no problem - looked exactly like it does on PC. Also have done several spreadsheets and PDF's - all look great and so far no problems. Not sure why everyone has had such problems?? I just bought it a week ago so - maybe I have a patched version - but I am very impressed. Documents look so much better then a Blackberry. Also I have the original iPhone not latest 3G version. For those complaining about the price - get over it - $15 - beats not having the capability to view Office docs (and cheaper then Office!)
Works well... By: bubblybabs - Mar 4, 2009 Version: 1.3.2 I can read my pdf's, txt's, and doc's w/o problem... I like how the program will convert coding in my doc files so that I'm seeing italic and bold and not the html itself (html coding done for later upload to a website)... Largest pdf file I've been open so far is over 200 pages and 8mb in size though there is a slight delay between page opening, I assume due to the size of the file... Have opened graphic intensive html pages as well... Really like being able to password protect my files... Already sent a note to support asking for ftp access, that would make this program ideal... Update: while ftp may not be in the works, support contacted me the next day to help me out with my webDav problems and a solution was found...
Flexible, robust file browser By: The Beave - Sep 2, 2008 Version: 1.0.3 Though not being able to save files from the web is an iPhone OS ommision, Readdle Docs fills this gap perfectly. The Readdle browser works to save most web docs (except PDFs embedded within an HTML frame) and most pages (except password-protected websites). But you can also email docs and use a web interface to download docs. Much easier than having to sync in iTunes, especially if you're not at home. The support has been fast and helpful. Well worth the price.
Really awesome! By: Ani G. - Jul 20, 2009 Version: 1.5.1 Being keen on reading books (aldry read some of them) I've found Readdledocs one of the best bookreaders around. Ofc, price is high, comparing to other products, but this app has the most wide feature set and deserves attention from readers all over the World. Good job Readdle, waiting for your major update with file transfer - it will help me with carrying files with me. UPGRADE. I used Readdledocs mostly as a book reader, but with the new changes situation has completely changed! Now it's the way to organize my work with files. (drag'n'drop files from my macbook, save attachments, create folders and so on). The new feature is amazing !!! Finally they DID it, so now time has come to remove airsharing at all ! As a conclusion, I must say that this app should be built into iPhone by Apple developers. I was lucky to cheat at the exam using iPhone+readdledocs =awesome combo ! Walt Mossberg was right saying "this app makes iPhone worth the price". P.S. there is a way to drag'n'drop files without wifi connection! You can zoom PDF files (contrary to some previous reviews) ReaddleDocs 1.5 features seems great. iDisk upload is vital for me. Now it's the most usable app on my iPhone. I hope that someday editing feature will be added. Comments and review by some mindless people are destressing me with their stupidity and tunnelvision.
This is an OUTSTANDING App By: Just Some Human - Jan 8, 2010 Version: 2.0.1 This app truly shows the potential of the iPhone. It's very attractive and runs as smooth as silk. Reviewers who complain about the cost have just been spoiled by the 99 cent and free apps. For an app with all the functionality this app provides, the cost is well worth it. Ya just have to spend a little time exploring this app. At first blush, it may not seem too impressive, but after a few minutes it really comes alive. The email function does not replace Apple's Mail App, but it does things that Mail can't. Is the browser going to replace Safari, nope. But it again it makes it easy to grab info from web sites that Safari can't.Is the app absolutely perfect? Not yet. The documentation is kind of thin. There are a few oddities in the interface. But there are no problems that can't be polished up in the next update. Most importantly, the developers are very open to suggested changes or added functionality. What more can you ask for?
Thank you for iDisk upload! By: Wmpc - Jul 29, 2009 Version: 1.5.2 I am very happy now that Readdle has added iDisk upload to this app. I really enjoy using Readdle Docs, especially with its ability to save HTML files for offline reading. If I could give more stars I would. The only feature missing from this application is the ability to upload documents to iDisk. Other than that it is worth every penny.*Still waiting for iDisk upload.**Still waiting. Anytime now, Readdle's One Disk supports this feature, why not Readdle Docs?
ReaddleDocs is the app I have been waiting for By: SandraRT - Aug 21, 2009 Version: 1.5.2 ReaddleDocs is the app I have been waiting for. It offers support for MobileMe, iDisk, Box.net, and others along with it’s own Readdle Storage account, which is available to all ReaddleDoc users. Like many apps — and not just file transfer apps — ReaddleDocs enables to read and fast scroll through PDF's and all the other MS/iWork formats. The support I have received has been excellent, I wish every company showed the same level of support to their customers.
FAR SUPERIOR to DataViz DocsToGo By: CBZinger - Jan 7, 2010 Version: 2.0.1 I was skeptical about downloading another attachment/file manager application since I had a bad experience with DataViz DocsToGo (It connects to my PC but could never get it working with my Mac). After reading that ReaddleDocs uses WebDAV, I was instantly hooked, and can tell you I have had absolutely NO problems on either my PC or my Mac connecting to ReaddleDocs on my iPhone. The added benefit of automatic storage to MobileMe, iDisk, Readdle Online and any other source via WebDAV is a HUGE draw for this application. I can't rate this thing any higher than 5 stars - I want to give it 10 stars.Promptly deleting DataViz DocsToGo from my iPhone, PC and Mac, and off to write another review for "that other product that shall forever remain nameless."ReaddleDocs ROCS! (spelling on purpose)
So far so good By: GaryMGrout - Aug 30, 2009 Version: 1.5.1 Readdle company definately are polishing their products, I was hesitant to buy this app, but after reading TUAW (and other great portals) review I decided to give it a try. To my surprise, this app is benefiting much for my perfomance during work with documents and managing files on my iDevice. Helpful and responsive support team creates feeling of good service and therefore - good product. As a conclusion, this is very useful app and I give it 5 stars for sure without hesitation. Get a common sense guys! Why are you telling something you don't know? If you wan't to transfer files without wi-fi connection you can search forums and find whole explanation how to do it. For those who cannot set up connection - go read manual and FAQ, or scout through forums.
