This is the first app I have felt moved to comment on. Moves my iPhone from fun toy to business tool. This app has great screens, conforms to the iPhone app conventions and works. It is even easier to use than SF itself. I do not understand the negative comments - it may be the wrong type of SF licence that your company has. So I would check and understand - but the app is free so try it. I have found the ability to please my bosses by updating my opportunities at will, whenever I have a spare 5 mins, all at offline speed, then one synch. Fab. Works for me.

There was a recent update that made the app crash, but Salesforce released another update the next day. It is not truely free, as you need a salesforce account, but this app is a must for anyone that uses salesforce and does any traveling... I think the 1star ratings are mostly from people that don't already have a salesforce account and thought they were getting a very expensive utility for free...

I honestly don't understand all of the 1-star ratings. They must be from people who are frustrated the app isn't really free.You need to have a salesforce.com account to use this app, and your company has to authorize mobile access. I give it 5 stars because it's a pleasure to use and a fantastic time saver when away from the office (saves me at least an hour a day). functionality has come a long way in the 9 months or so that I've been using it. I love this latest update. Highly recommended.

A lot of the reviews here do seem like they come straight from salesforce, so I'll tell you the truth, as a consumer, this app is pretty great, you actually don't need to buy mobile licenses any more, or sign up for a 30 day trial. Salesforce released not too long ago "mobile lite", so all your admin has to do is enable this in setup & you are good to go. I'm currently using this app with the free mobile lite license, and I get read-access to everything I need. Pretty great in my opinion... Now it really is free :)

This new version is EXCELLENT! The previous versions would not work with my iPhone because our database was too large or had too many custom fields/objects mapped. This version took a while to download (about 9-10MB) but then loads up just fine. The app is spectacular!!! The search is fast and you can actually EDIT things now! You can also do things like ADD NEW TASKS AND EVENTS which was a huge problem before. The ONLY thing I wish you could see now was Reports. This is an incredible app and blows the Blackberry version out of the water. When I run SF on my BB Curve it is like pulling teeth. On the iPhone, my coworkers drool with jealousy!! Way to go SF!!

To all of those out there who complain about the initial release of the app being read only please remember so was the initial blackberry and windows mobile and palm os mobile services. The secound release gives you the edit. If it's dashboards you want have your system admin turn on your visualforce mobile and create them easy. If you want to sync there is no waiting you can manually sync rather than wait for the 20 minute data push. And last but not least price. If you sign up for a developer account which has all the functionality of salesforce enterprise edition great for the solo salesman the cost for the mobile is FREE the developer accounts are FREE and function the same as enterprise oh did I mention you can have up to three users in developer, basic support Is included and three FREE mobile licenses. You will experiance success not just hear about it.

This software is incredible. It needs to be read and write. Right now, it's at an early stage and so it is read only. But you can see what's to come. If you saw the demo on the March 6th event then you have a good idea what this is going to be able to do when finalized. Software of this quality really shows where the iPhone is going. The demo knocked my socks off. I only wish it had read and write right now. It's so good that once you use it, you want more and can't wait to have more. So I hope the folks at SalesForce hurry this along. It is truly fantastic software.

I have been waiting for this since the Apple's SDK launch last March. We saw a quick glimpse and it definitely looked promising. I'm using it now on a daily basis and have to admit I really wring it out but it performs nicely and no problems at all. Of course it's read-only at this time and like everyone else, I'd like to get some edits and entry going but really, I'd rather have it now in its current state than not have it. Looked on the Salesforce Mobile Blog and they make a very aggressive statement about bringing the edit functionality along quickly. Judging from the speed they put this first version out with, we probably won't have long to wait.

Wasn't sure what it would look like or how it would work, but was pleasantly surprised to find that the app was so intuitive. Totally idiot proof which suits me perfectly :) The good part is that they didn't miss on any of the key areas I use daily. Didn't give them the 5-star rating because I think I found a little bug in the Leads section where the map link is, otherwise it was perfect. Now I can look cool *and* be productive at the same time :)

I've just added the new version and it took less than two mins to sync. I had never syncd before. You need to be an admin in SalesForce. Login online to the normal site and go to the mobile administration tab in the set up menu and then choose mobile settings. From there just tick the box. Once you have done that, install the app and follow the instructions - 2 mins over a wireless internet connection.
First thought is how to filter views but I'm sure I'll work it out if there is a way.

Having recently converted over to iPhone, the Salesforce Mobile is much more usable and elegant than than sluggish and user unfriendly BB version. Although, working mostly in the Cases object, I have to say that its quite a bummer than Case Comments is still not exposed, as that is where the most important, up-to-date info for a case is located (for me at least). Hoping that can be added in a future version.

This app is definitely helpful. I like it as an adjunct to my using SFDC on my laptop. Having it on my iPhone keeps me from having to lug my laptop with me everyday.
I would like to see the events to be viewable in calendar form, it would make life so much easier. Scrolling through events that took place months ago to find today's events, in order to look at details, is a big pain. Calendar view for events please!!!!
And, please put in a way to look at yesterday's sales and sales for a specific time period with who ordered and what they ordered.
All in all I like it. Keep improving it so I can continue to be more effecient.

This app is amazing. I am so happy that it is now available for the iPhone. Just today, I was late for an appointment, looked up my client in the app, called to let them know that I was late... looked up their address, had it mapped with Google maps with traffic and knew exactly how and when I was going to get there. You have to have a mobile license from salesforce to have the app work. I assume that those who wrote poor reviews about the app not working, need to actually have their company purchase a mobile license first.

Great app for the Salesforce.com users! Don't get some of the negative reviews, of course you need a salesforce license to use this app! The navigation is top notch and well integrated with the iphone UI. Looking forward to future versions with more features.
