Description:
Securely keep track of everything in your life with the ultimate iPhone database app. Tap Forms uses strong AES-256 bit encryption. So strong it required US government approval to export! Easily import data from your Mac or PC using the built-in Tap Forms FTP server. Email your records including photos and audio notes. Export to a text file and transfer to your Mac or PC. Upload PDFs, Word, Excel, and other documents for viewing on the go. Includes more than 25 built-in forms, such as: • Audio dictation • Bank accounts • Credit & debit cards • Daily journal • Frequent flyer numbers • Health insurance • Homework assignments • Loyalty cards • Personal health cards • Security alarm codes • Serial numbers • Vehicle insurance • Website accounts Create custom forms such as home inventory, music and movie collections, favorite wines, etc. Provides 15 field types including: • Email address • GPS location • Contact • Text • Date • Time • Date & time • Number • Rating • Web site address • Check mark • Note • Audio/Voice recorder • Photo • Phone number The location field type lets you keep track of your current location along side the rest of your data record. Not just limited to your current location. Search for any location in the world and store that in your data record. View your location field on the built-in map view. The audio/voice recorder is a full featured voice recorder you would normally have to buy another app for. Not with Tap Forms! It's included right inside the app! Includes an easy to use search tab that allows you to search both field titles and content. Tap Forms also has a passcode lock-out function to keep your information safe from unauthorized access. AES-256 bit encryption operates separately from the lock-out passcode and uses an alpha-numeric password up to 32 characters long! You can never have too many backups. Tap Forms includes a built-in backup and restore function that's independent of iTunes.

Elegant replacement for FileMaker Mobile By: mollivan - Jan 13, 2009 Version: 1.5 Since I ditched my old Palm for a shiny iPod Touch, I've been looking for an affordable solution to my old, discontinued FileMaker Mobile. I used this to add new records while on the move that I could sync back to my desktop database. After looking into the options, I tried out Tap Forms. I've been thoroughly impressed. It's got an elegant, intuitive interface and it's slick to use. It's so much more user friendly than my geriatric FileMaker Mobile that the two are hardly comparable. I've since added many hundreds of rows into five forms, the largest with over 50 columns, and I've easily emailed the forms back to myself as csv files for importing into my desktop FileMaker databases. If you can live without the desktop database syncing of FileMaker Mobile (or FMTouch), I thoroughly recommend Tap Forms. It doesn't have all the bells and whistles of a power database, and I've made some suggestions for added features on their website (e.g., importable pick lists and simple relationships between forms would be useful). However, at this price point, you're getting a whole lot of mobile databasing goodness for your money, so it's five stars from me.
Best Business App By: Rogefeller - Jan 15, 2009 Version: 1.5 This is BY FAR the most essential app I have on my Ipod Touch. With version 1.5 it is exactly what I needed. I can export all of my data from SQL Server as flat text files and get them on my Ipod in no time. It could not be easier. All of my order information, tracking numbers, customer data, inventory numbers, and contact info on my Ipod, organized in easy to view forms. Plus I can automatically update the data whenever I want wirelessly via the FTP functions. I love this application and the developer is very helpful. Perfect tool for anyone looking to store data on your Ipod/Touch so you can access it on your Ipod.
The best! By: so lucky - Nov 4, 2008 Version: 1.0.1 Now this is an awesome app. You can completely customize any kind of form. You can password-protect. It's got a great UI - very easy to use; looks good. AND it's been totally stable on my 3G. I've got only one criticism - the viewing screen needs some options. Right now all the entries for a particular form are displayed alphabetically, and only the first field shows. It would be so much better if you could have more than one field displayed, especially if you could choose which fields to show. Filters would be even better! And a suggestion... how about radio buttons or drop down lists? Hmm, and more icons to choose from? But these are just details - overall the program is terrific. I've got lots of apps; this is one of my favorites. I've got about 40 different databases on it - I use it every day.
Very Nice! By: ninscrapl - Feb 27, 2009 Version: 1.6 I don't think i'll ever run out of new ways to use this application! This is genius! I've gotten started with a mileage log, website passwords log, and a vehicle maintenance log. The website features a vote-tracking software, where you can submit ideas and view/vote on the ideas of others. It would be nice if I could make a field that was a calculation based on 2 other fields, so I cast my vote on the web-site feedback for it. I can see that the developer is very responsive to the community, and is working to implement the ideas of his customers. Thanks for such a great app!
The iPhone App I use most often By: Rob&Cara - Apr 25, 2009 Version: 1.6 I never write reviews, but for Tap Forms I must make an exception. I was looking for a good way to keep up with passwords & personal data. Tap Forms was that and a whole lot more! I must admit that I was reluctant to pay the higher price for an iPhone app, but, if you try, you will agree that the ease of use and flexibility are well worth it. I had an issue with backing up the data and the developer responded to my email within a couple of hours and with the answer I needed to solve the issue! All of his correspondence was polite and he really knew what he was talking about. I say, Keep up the good work!
Great App! By: zLink - Nov 8, 2009 Version: 1.8 I'll confess I don't typically submit reviews, but I've been very happy with this app and wanted to give the developers credit. I've been trying a bunch of apps that securely store information of different types and this app has worked perfectly for what I need and is extremely customizable. Great job. The only feature request I have is the ability to add multiple photos to one photo field. It was more than I would normally spend on an app, but I feel it was worth the price. Thanks. More apps should be this well rounded.
Better browsing needed. By: Othaniel - Mar 8, 2009 Version: 1.6 First off great program. One of the absolute best utilities I've put on my iPhone. There is room for improvement in some areas, better backup/computer interface is one example. Another that I actually care more about is having better built-in browsing. The ability to click on a web link in a record and have it open up right in Tap Forms is merely novel without being able to go back and forth between the web page and the record. For instance, say I need to fill out multiple fields on a web site, all with information I have in a record. Without having keep all the information in my head while I open the page and enter the data, I would need to write it all down on a scrap of paper and then proceed to the page. Holding the page in the iPhone's memory while I go back to the record would be ideal.
So many apps in one. By: W_Scott_Kahle - Mar 16, 2009 Version: 1.6 The great thing about this app is that it's really many apps in one. For example, I saw an app that let's you keep track of your receipts. This app let you take a picture of the receipt, enter the location, date & amount spent. So I created my own receipt tracker. Mine does the same thing, but I added the option to link contacts, select a category and add notes. The range of applications you can create are endless.
Great App ! By: CreativeFiction - Oct 1, 2008 Version: 1.0 This app is very usefull. Having the ability to put voice notes and photos into what is essentially a database record is an outstanding feature. The fact that the Forms can be uniquely designed by the user makes this app very powerful. I have only just begun to use it but I believe it may well be the most usefull app I have on my iPhone after I learn the best way to design the forms. I highly, highly, recommend this app!
Excellent By: Engr Mel - Oct 23, 2008 Version: 1.0.1 The capabilities and uses of this are way beyond what you might expect by reading the developer's description. He is selling himself short. There is an endless number of different forms that could be created. For example, I created a form for my construction inspector employees to use - they fill it out on their inspections then immediately e-mail it back to me. Perfect! For me, the biggest downside in using the iPhone for forms is text entry. The more options that we have for field types the better it is. For example, please add the following types: pick from list, yes/no, and phone number. It would also be nice to be able to send a form template to another user so that we don't have to recreate the form on every single phone - this is the biggest limitation that is keeping me from purchasing the application for all my employees. Also, my dream would be that the developer would incorporate ShapeWriter's keyboard and/or the handwriting recognition of Phatnotes. Being able to send a completed form by e-mail that is nicely formated in a PDF file would be great (the plain text email is functional, but just plain ugly). Also, the photo field type is a great idea that the developer offers, but the photos are not attached to the email when you send out a completed form. Please consider incorporating some or all of these ideas. The program is very intuitive and has a great user interface. It has not crashed on me even once.

Fantastic App By: Jay Jennings - Oct 13, 2009 Version: 1.8 This is probably the most useful app I've purchased from the App Store and I've only had it a few days. I played with the Lite version a couple days and was so thrilled with the ease of use that I decided to buy the full program. I've been wanting a "specific" iPhone app that just doesn't exist and I was able to create it with Tap Forms! No, it's not all roses and candy, I'm having trouble getting one part of the program to work correctly on my system, but looking at the improvements that have been made plus the quick way in which the developer responds to requests makes me *very* comfortable with my purchase. I was torn between Tap Forms and HanDBase and while the latter does appear more powerful at this time (it's relational), I know that's something the TF developer is working on -- and so it came down to the look and feel. Tap Forms *looks* like an iPhone app should, and since I'll be using it daily the look is actually important. The program as it stands with this version is good enough for the needs I have -- and I can't wait to see what new features are going to show up in the future.
Excellent Database App for the iPhone/iPod touch By: Jim Glidewell - Feb 23, 2009 Version: 1.6 I have been looking for a handheld database that was elegant, flexible, and reasonably powerful. This is it. One particular function I was looking for was the ability to fill in a form on my iPod touch, then email the contents of the form. This app does this with no effort. The support for various field types is excellent - I am able to time and date-stamp a new record with a couple of taps. Tap Forms features: A URL field which launches a built-in browser. A contacts field that lets you select from your contacts. A picture field that works with your photo library or the built-in camera. Even a voice memo field type is available. Reasonable support for backups (independent of the normal iTunes backup facility) is provided, as is support for import and export via CSV files. It even supports an FTP server and local file viewing similar to Air Sharing. The developer seems to be responsive and the product is being actively developed. I get the impression that some of the earlier versions may have been a bit rough around the edges, but version 1.6 has been flawless for me. Overall, I recommend this product highly - the learning curve appears reasonable for non-technical users, but it has a lot of depth for those who want to use it in more complex ways.
Best iPhone database. Easy to use, yet powerful. Make custom databases on the fly. By: Inventors_Create_Jobs - Oct 11, 2009 Version: 1.8 Swiss Pocket Knife of iPhone databases. TapForms made my life easier. I save money too! I don't have to buy task specific iPhone applications, because I can make better databases that are better than applications for sale. A friend of mine (a macho web designer & programmer) bought Bento and lovingly created a Blood Glucose Journal for his wife. We compared his journal with mine in TapForms. He was so envious within seconds, and decided to buy Tap Forms. Bento is awkward and not pretty. Also Bento is unforgiving on Field Names, because you can NOT edit or correct the Field Name, you must recreate the entire database from scratch!!! ouch! With TapForms, you can change just about anything in midstream. Very customizable! The ability to send records to computer via FTP is so handy and fast. Time Stamping is wonderful with a single click! Here is an example of one guy who has limited resources, but who knows how to write a great application, listens to his customers, keeps improving his application almost daily, and he is out performing a huge corporation with huge resources like FileMaker Inc. Don't waste your money buying other databases, Buy TapForms Database. MAKE YOUR LIFE EASIER AND MORE ORGANIZED AND KEEP ACCURATE RECORDS AND KEEP BACKUPS. I am only a happy customer with a lot of experience with databases on the Macintosh since 1985 (remember OverVUE from ProVUE which is now called Panorama?). My time is too valueable to waste on a mediocre databases, I want the best!
Tap that app. By: Gr8dna - May 14, 2009 Version: 1.6 I have never written a review of an app until now. I have been looking for an app where I can customize fields and have those fields functional in terms of integrating with the Calendar, Contacts, Audio and so on. Tap Forms is like I designed it myself for exactly what I needed. The interface is quite useable and creating forms is easy. Just add fields, name them, determine their function, assign it. It's that easy.'' It's like an app that you can design, however you want it. Absolutely great. Really great app. Highly recommended.
Excellent Application - Best Buy I've Ever Made By: Sabaii - Oct 10, 2009 Version: 1.8 I have never reviewed an application before because most applications, once downloaded, are a disappointment. Tap Forms Database is a standout exception. I really love this application. It is very customizable and can be formatted to record any kind of information that you may need. The new option to email the resulting .csv file is really helpful. I use this program to record interactions with clients and use the resulting .csv in a mail-merged .doc that easily, with only a few modifications, allows me to create documents that I otherwise would have had to spend hours making. It is almost perfect, and I am happy to see the designers are really keen on adding additional features. Some of the features I hope they include in future updates are: 1) The ability to calculate values from values already put in (ie, Start time: 9:00am -- End time: 9:36am = **0:36 minutes** <- That value would populate automatically) 2) The ability to have a radio button selected that will place the name instead of a "yes" value (ie, "o JAZZ", when selected, will result in "Jazz" in the .csv file instead of "yes") 3) The ability to have a field that will automatically fill in other values if selected. (ie, if "Delivery Completed" is selected, then "Package Delivered" field, "Signature Obtained" field, and "Transaction Completed" field all automatically complete so the user doesn't have to go through multiple fields on routine tasks. This would dramatically increase efficiency on these kind of entries. Other than that, this is an amazing program and worth every penny. I would highly recommend it.
Wow!! Awesome! By: Kris Green - Oct 8, 2009 Version: 1.8 This app has saved my sanity! It has effectively replaced 3 apps I was previously using. I now store and organize all my information in Tap Forms. Why purchase multiple apps to secure your passwords, logging app, daily diary and your database to store your movie collection. There are so many different ways to organize your data in this app. It's graphical interface is very nice and a breath of fresh air compared to many of the other so called data management apps. Plus, import and exports cvs files if you don't want to input all your data on the phone. I could go on and on. Download the app, you won't be dissapointed. :)
App that delivers on every promise and more ! By: iphone obi - Jun 6, 2009 Version: 1.7 What a refreshingly great piece of work ! Congrats to the developer. This is simply a great user friendly personal db app ! Far better than wallet or bento ...both of which have significant shortcomings. Tap forms clearly has the user experience and usability in mind....and its practicality hits the mark dead on. Also, if you have any question what so ever, the developer is extremely quick and helpful in getting you answers ( the great support alone merits high stars ).
Solid app, well worth the money By: coder_and_decoder - Jun 11, 2009 Version: 1.7 This is a really well-written app and does what I was looking for and more. I ran across this looking for a journal app where I could keep my thoughts for the day as well as some diet and exercise logs. I am now using tap forms for that and all of my other personal info. The best features are: customizable forms, awesome interface, well-thought out standard forms, encryption, customizable pick lists and import/export. I had a spreadsheet with close to 200 web site logins and was able to import those easily. I found a few minor bugs and have some small feature requests, but I couldn't be happier with my purchase!
Just what I was looking for By: Greyerlynx - Jun 15, 2009 Version: 1.7 Tap forms is the type of application that can give back as much as you're willing to put into it. My experience is that you could track or manage just about anything. I'm thrilled by the customization options in the forms. I don't think I've yet used one of their forms straight out of the box. The ability to customize is something I definately take advantage of. This is one of the few apps with a full backup and recovery option using a simple java app. The csv import/export is excellent but definately not for the average user. Probably the only complaint is the lack-luster email capability. Some fields, like the eating field, don't come through at all, which doesn't really make sense. Overall I highly recommend it if you need to keep track of unique types of information.
AMAZING for creative visual people By: Jens Gad Enigma - Oct 1, 2009 Version: 1.8 I was actually the coproducer of the group Enigma and have discovered my ultimate Songwriting and Ideacollection tool in TAP FORMS. The combination of visual listing, audio recording and universal grouping makes it perfect for visual people like me. I can remember songideas by an image I take, or an icon I add. Just like my good old paper notebook but with all the tech - features from today's computers. then I record a quick melody i have in my head and add it to the lyric idea. Finally I can even add a keyword to find it later amongst the 1000s of ideas and rate it with 1-5 stars or as a favourite to be able to create a 'best off list'. Also the FTP-backup function by just pressing a button is amazing and so simple. This has become my Nr.1 iPhone App - now residing in the upper left corner of page 1. It's a perfect example of merging a tech gadget with a very helpful tool speeding up essential works you have to achieve in every day life. WELL DONE!
