I love this app. When I first bought it, I love it overall except that I cannot sync my file back to my computer. So I contacted their tech support, they told me they are working on it and will give the upgrade to the existing customers for free. Sure enough, in a short period of time, the upgrade is here and I don't even need to install any software in my PC or attach any wire to sync the recording. Now this little software can record, organize, send voice notes, and sync long recordings back to my pc for me to put it in itune. The express mode is great also since I can easily start/stop recording without the need to find any button to push. Now my ipod touch is also a great digital recording device (Will cost at least $50 to buy and the interface is not as nice) with this $1.99 app. Worth every penny!! Great job done, Voxie!

Commuter's dream

I’ve already used this app on my commute to work. I’m so thrilled with it! Can’t say enough good things about it. I drive at least an hour to work one way and during that commute, Voxie proved to be completely stable. Looks like there's finally a recording application that rises to the top of the ranks.
Still haven't found one better than Voxie. I keep trying, but it has proven to be far superior than others.

I've used this app during several meetings to record and transcribe conversations. It's been a great tool. The UI is clean and streamlined. Good of control over recording size/quality too. Sound quality has been good, limited only by the iPhone microphone. An external mic might perform better, but as is, the iPhone mic works well.
The developer has been responsive to suggestions I've submitted.

While the another reviewer indicated this app was a waste of money, I would say otherwise. This application is a very well thought out program which has features the author didn't even mention. For instance in the waveform view you merely touch the waveform and the playback goes to that point in the recording and plays it for you. This one feature alone sets this application heads above any other.
Ease of use is wonderful. Seriously. While other programs have a simplistic approach to recording, this one provides a large feature set while still being easy to use. That is difficult to attain. Personally, I really think this application is worth every penny. While the previous reviewer indicated you can not record a phone conversation with this, I believe you can. Pick up your land line telephone and put it on speakerphone. Bingo, you now have the ability to record a phone conversation.
Give this app a try. I think you will enjoy it. I know I will. And oh, by the way, I love the name of the app.

It failed after one time of use. It didn't record at all after uploading the 2.2 update. I was so excited to buy this & now that Voxie sent me the Voxie 2.2 update I am even more excited because they really worked to fix the problem it was having. This is an awsome recorder. I have a lot of applications that I have purchased and this is by far my favorite. Thanks to everyone for making such a great application. I am going to Vegas tomorrow, leaving for Thanksgiving and recording my,just turned 2 year old grandson say," ironman!". Now I can come back to Wyoming and hear him anytime to make me smile. Thanks Voxie for making me smile.

I recently got the Voxie and I was really happy about it, I am a professional composer & arranger, so Voxie is a big help. Then there was a software update for my phone, which desabled Voxie and I could not figure it out, so I wrote to tech support and those guys were right on the dot! Fantastic tips and attention to detail. Thanks for the help. Now I have it updated with the 1.5.1 version and everything is perfect.Great product and fantastic tech support, I give it a 10!

I looked a long time and tried several recorders before finding Voxie. It looks, sounds and performs great! The recording quality is adjustable up to 44khz, thanks to the quality settings. Was standing around the water cooler at work today and recorded our conversation...it sounds very clear.
You can save files of any size, and you can name them and put them in predefined categories if you'd like. You can open a saved recording and record more into it, starting from any point you like.
One unique feature is the visual waveform. Instead of just a timeline, you can actually see your recording visually. This makes it very easy to listen to a specific point in the recording. Takes the guesswork out of searching through a lot of silence just to find what you want to hear.
The files can be emailed or synced straight to your computer. My email address shows up as the sender when an email is received, although it would be nice to be able to customize the subject title too. Syncing to my PC is easy too. Just follow the instructions given to you after hitting the "Sync" button. No additional software required, and the file is not stored on a central server somewhere on the web like most other apps require you to do.
Files are recorded as AIF files which are pretty universal.
The support is even great. I emailed back and forth with the developer last night on some ideas for Voxie. For instance, I'd like an option to turn off the screen while recording to save battery life as well as for discreet recording (if needed). Also a "pause during silence" would be nice, but not so important since I can visually scan through my recording to skip silence anyways.
This is by far the best audio recorder in the App Store, and is a real steal at $1.99. Highly recommended!

One of Apple's strong suits is writing apps with slick and usable user interfaces. Voxie "feels" like part of the iPhone, with familiar layout and navigation. I particularly like seeing the sound waveform when I record or load a file. Since I am using it to record interviews, the visual waveform lets me "see" the silent and loud parts of the file, making it easy to navigate. Very professional app, well worth the 2 bucks.

Bottle Rocket makes very good apps. I have 3 of there apps and they all work flawlessly with no problems what so ever. If your having problems, then it's you not them. I have both 2G and 3G phones and all 3 apps work great. I love the feature that you can add to a recording that you have saved. This makes this app stand above all the other ones. The only feature I would love to see is ability to have a number badge of recordings on the application icon. Thank You Bottle Rocket for another great app. Keep up the good work..

I had problems after the iPhone 2.2 firmware and emailed support and they responded promptly. Wonderful support. After their update for the app, it is now running smooth. A few requests: How about when creating a recording on the go (express mode perhaps) when finished, pressing the iPhone's home button to exit, the app will quickly give the recording a default name and save it, reminding you that a new recording is in your library with a badge on the home screen icon. Secondly, how about being able to import previous recordings that have been removed from the app. This would be great, because some times recordings have been removed from the app to my computer via the new wifi sync but would like to get them back on the iphone. And finally, how about showing the number of recordings in the Selected Category section of the app and to be able to edit the list by moving certain categories up or down the list. It's kind of a bummer not knowing how many recordings are in a certain category and the list not able to sort alphabetically or some other way. Thanks for the great product.

i just purchased voxie after reading reviews about many recorders. after installing it i encountered the playback sound problem that was noted and that was even with the latest update. so i emailed support and received a quick response back. i was told to check the switch to make sure that it was not on silent/vibrate. that turned out to be the problem. i was really impressed at how fast they got back to be. this app is awesome to say the least. keep up the great job.

I think that your application is pretty good, maybe excellent, however the way it sends the email to the recepients is like a big FLAG of a commercial that you smear onto the recepient.  Please be more discrete, allow your email baggage (propaganda) to be subdued.  The recipient of the email is paying attention to what the message is saying, and VERY distracted by a PURPLE screen, and way down there is the tiny strip of Quicktime to play the sound/message.  Maybe you can be more creative using musical background, the user choosing their loops out of Garage Band, or images, however if the images allow for the porno hijackers to rise to the occasion, than you can choose your nice land scapes of the Wings program you are also selling for the iPhone.  
Please consider the above - do NOTE - that you might tarnish the image of the iPhone which is awesome, don't be cheesing its outputs, wether graphically or of any kind.

11/16/08 I purchased an external ipod mic for my itouch,(not sure if 2nd Gen, purchased it earlier this year?) and am hoping to be able to do voice recordings on it. I downloaded some of the other recording apps that are free to see if any would work-NONE of them would even install. I took a chance and downloaded Voxie, and it transfered and installed on my itouch! (YES!) I even tried out the app and it wants to record, actually DOES record, but no sound. I can't wait to get the mic and give this a try, I think I may have something that actually works! Thank you Bottle Rocket, I will give another review after testing with the microphone.

Voxie is a very nice, smooth voice recording application. Some of the better features are organization of recordings and the ability to email the recordings to anyone in your contact list. It sends in and .aif format that the iPhone can read. There are a lot of options in the “Settings” tab which make the app very customizable. You can easily see details like date, time, length and file size and there’s even a visualizer showing what the recording “looks” like. If all of this seems confusing or complicated you can just tap on the “Express” tab and just one tap or a shake starts the recording. One more tap saves it and it becomes ready to record again with just another tap.
With clean design and options for recording qualities from 8kHz to 44kHz this app is worth the price. One thing that I had trouble figuring out at first is to save a recording you have to tap “Actions” and then “Save Only”. At first I thought the “Actions” button just allows for emailing.

I just upgraded to the new version and I am also using the transcribe option. This is the coolest recorder I've seen. It is so easy. I have found writing letters while driving is the best use of my time. No secretary needed. Just press record, then option transcribe and then in minutes a full letter is in my email box or it can be sent directly to anyone. How cool is that!!!!
Voxie is absolutely my favorite recorder. I love how easily you can bring up the recorder, press record, press stop and the it automatically sends the voice recording to me and/or others. It is perfect for quick thoughts and TO DO's while out of the office. Voxie is definitely my favorite recorder out there.

Voxie simply rocks - a must have app!

I've gotta say I LOVE Voxie! I'm a guy with tons of ideas, and I love being able to just shake Voxie anytime, anywhere to record my ideas. One thing I've found really useful is to record somebody's contact info when they don't have a business card on them.  Voxie saves me a lot of times in this situation as it's a lot easier than trying to type out an email address while chatting with them! If you haven't tried Voxie yet, I highly recommend you do it now! Love the transcription features of 2.0 as well as the wi-fi sync. I've got all their apps and I've got to say, these guys make great software! Keep up the great work!!!

I've been trying many of the voice recorder apps and so far find Voxie to do everything I want...and to do it well. Beyond the quality of the app itself, I am very impressed with their customer service. I was one of those folks trying to figure out why my older version of this app wouldn't work with the new iPhone OS. I emailed customer service Thanksgiving morning and received an immediate response. I couldn't believe that they were so helpful on a holiday. Thanks Bottle Rocket! You have my vote.

Having tried two other recorders for the iPhone, one of which should be avoided AT ALL COSTS (Plum Record) this one wins without a doubt. Not only is the quality of the recordings excellent, but the interface is beautiful too. Easy to use, great features - like Express Mode - and above all, an absolute breeze to sync with your machine. No "servers" to download, no complicated syncing procedures. It just works. Although I have one minor complaint, that the Express Mode "shake to record" will deactivate too easily once it starts recording, this app still deserves 5 stars. And it's an absolute bargain at two bucks.

I run a professional recording studio and I'm very selective about the audio tools I use. I would rate the sound quality and usability of this app to be probably the best of all the apps I've auditioned. Great for accurately capturing everything from lectures, ambient sounds, dictation, etc. The user interface is excellent and file management features are very easy to learn. This is app is well worth the price. Great product from the Bottle Rocket Team!

This is a true software title. Not like most apps that just do one little thing and charge too much.
This one has it all. I use the Sent to Me and Send to Friends often. You can email a group with Sent to Friends. Good customizations. 4 audio quality settings. Transcription service is really good. I tried it and in less than a few minutes I had a professionally typed copy in my email inbox. It's good enough to use to transcribe emails blindly. So, that's what I do now. I speak my emails... Awesome. New version allows me to send text messages with my voice. Just speak and they type and send.
Email and WiFi both are nice. Record interface is perfect. Very interesting waveform. Never seen that in another app.
I highly recommend this over other apps. New multiple file delete feature is awesome. Very handy. Support is excellent too. They answered me on a weekend...
