The Blackboard Learn application is available to users at Blackboard institutions running the Blackboard Learning System™, Release 7.1 or higher or Blackboard Learn for Course Delivery - Enterprise license, Release 9.0. The application will function without any action from these institutions; however some institutions prefer to block the service. If you have problems connecting, please check with the institution to make sure they haven’t “disabled” the service.
This application is not available to users of the Vista and CE product lines. As customers with the Vista and CE licenses upgrade to Blackboard Learn, Release 9 or later, this application will become available to them.

I go to a small, mostly commuter school, SHU in Southern CT & I had no idea that other colleges used it!
Instead of using BBoard as a book mark on my iPhone, now I have a real app right on my home page--due to SHU trying to be Green- one must use BBoard for everything; syllabus, assignments, documents & any course changes & announcements.
This app is WONDERFUL & very useful.
Thank you for the review a few below me to tell me how to sync.......
UPDATE- PEOPLE- IT WORKS! JUST READ THE REVIEW that EXPLAINS HOW TO MAKE IT WORK & SYNC to your IPHONE-COME ON PEOPLE. READ ........

It works. It's free. I know why people are having trouble. First download the app. Don't open it!!!! Go to blackboard via safri. Log on, look to the bottom of the left column. Blackboard sync. Click on it. You will see an iPhone icon. Click on it. Lastly click on the link which saids you already have the app. By doing so it opens up the app and automatically configures the settings. Good to go!! And no. When it gives you a link. You don't have to log on by putting in your password.

Blackboard has bought out a number of learning management systems including WebCT and most recently Angel. This application only seems to work with the original Blackboard LMS and simply needs to be updated so as to take advantage of the other LMS's that Bb owns. For a 'free' application, having such limitations are acceptable, however if ANYONE decides to create an interface with the other two systems, they will be positioned to rake in some serious $'s!
syncing problems

I just used it this morning to check if there were any announcements about class cancelations. Easy to set up. Much faster than using safari to log into school then blackboard just to check one thing. Don't know why it's rated so low honestly.

This app works great for me. You MUST do the correct sync procedure in order for it to work correctly. I followed the instructions from review #10 and it works great. Download the app but don't open. Log into blackboard through safari and then click the blackboard sync link. Follow the instructions and it should work fine.

This app is very useful to me. However, it usually just launches blackboard via Safari. It's good for checking announcements and what's new. With a little more work it could be great.
