This is a great app. I easily created flash cards for a very difficult exam. The workbook had 14 chapters with review question and answers. I made two flash card sets, seven chapters each. They were a great learning tool for me and everyone in my class with an ipod touch or iphone, and also gave me 15 minutes of fame. I also shared the files with the gFlash+ people, and they added them to their catalogue the very next day (If you need Apple Certification in Final Cut Pro 6, you're in luck).

I really like the concept of this application but have some suggestions and some bugs. Suggestions: Create a flash card mode tht makes the screen look like a flash card, and then you tap the card to flip of around and see the answer. Also, when you go through the flash cards it has there is a "Right" or "Wrong" option, but the answer is always the right button. I guess you would have to kind of make another answer for it to pop up though if you did pick wrong and it truly was wrong. Bugs: Whenever you go to add flashcard sets, the application crashes. Other than that the application is great!

This is GREAT, with a variety of subjects to add to your cards. Entertaining, helpful and informative. But, on some of the quizzes they give you an option for multiple choice and others they don't. And, there's no way to type in an answer. But, then if you get a red block signifying you've missed the question, it doesn't give you the correct answers. It asks if you want to retake the quiz for the ones you missed and gives you missed and sometimes gives you the ones you got right. No where does it give you the correct answers. I finally figured out that you just mentally guess those answers that you don't have a multiple choice selection for, tap on the screen and if it's right, you manually click right so it will keep track for you.

Great App! I've tried out several free flash card programs and this is the most simple, easy to use of the bunch. This is my reason for rating it five stars.However, here are some things I think would make it (or the full version) better: 1) Bookmark Capability 2) Select Wrong Cards Only 3) Ability to Add Cards On-The-Go4) Option to Rearrange Library5) More Background Color OptionsI am planning on purchasing the Full Version. Will add a review here as well after I try it out.

This is a great app. I definetly use it to study to for my biology and government terms. I love the fact that is quizzes you and allows you to do multiple choice. I will definetly buy the Pro version. The only thing I find a little frustrating is when I do the multiple choice and quizzes and I have to scroll down to pick the correct answer, sometimes it scrolls but picks an answer I was not intending to pick before I'm able to get to the correct answer. I would love it if that were addresses. Overall, great app. Ignore negative feedback. It's awesome for a free app.

This app is one of my absolute favorites on my Touch. It syncs with my vocabulary lists on my Google Docs account and can automatically generate multiple choice quizzes based on my spreadsheets! Reverse questions and answers, single question mode, keeps track of your score as you take quizzes and even remembers your place in a quiz when you close the app. Unbelievably free! I can’t thank the developer enough. Really wonderful app. 감사합니다! Thank you!

Exactly what I was looking for and More!!!! Extremely easy to create my own flashcard via google doc. Love the reverse Q&A and the multiple choice function!!! Just freakingly amazing!!! I created my own materials and quiz myself and when I got a low grad, gFlash will ask if I want to shuffle all my wrong answers and quiz again!?!?!?!? Isn't that wonderful? Thank you for making it free for that tiny little ads that I hardly notice it anymore! ARIGATOO!!!!!!!

Good app. Easy for users to download their own flashcards and plenty of other flashcards created by others into iPhone. The best thing is that this app is free for unlimited number of cards. It allows for quizes to be taken as well and tracks the percentage of correct answers. Although this app is supported by advertisements, it can still be used without an active wireless connection unless you need to download more flashcards. Thanks for creating this app!!

I don't know why anyone would complain about this app it is fantastic, and its free! Really simple to use, and making your own flashcards takes no time, just use google docs spreadsheet to create questions and answers, or as I do because I'm using this for A level french, french words and english words. Downloading your own lists from google to the iphone takes seconds as well! It looks good, is easy to use, and the multiple choice feature is a plus also to do quizzes for yourself. I can only sing this app's praises, download now!

For people who want the basics, this app is perfect. It's hard to believe it's free! However, if you really like it, I HIGHLY recommend getting Pro (aka not free version). I've had this free version for a few months and it's good for the basics, but I just downloaded the Pro version today and its sooo much better. Give this a shot then upgrade if you like it. It's really going to help my GRE verbal score!

If you're going to get on here and complain about something someone has spent time and effort on, make sure you at least take the time and effort to read the directions. This is a great app, you CAN add your own cards, however you have to use google documets and make a two-column spreadsheet, which is very easy ... And that's not saying a lot for the morons who get on here and bash this great app, just because they don't understand it. This is a valuable tool I'd be lost without, and I highly recommend it!

I'm a student and I love this program. I'm not a fan of ads, but it's a free program. Those complaining about ads on a free program really need a reality check. You shouldn't look a gift horse in the mouth. It's free. Get off your high horse.
As for being slow and crashing, you may be using cards or card sets that have too many cards in them. The guidelines for the card sets say that it is not recommended to put more than 300 entries into a card set (this means 150 questions, 150 answers). Pictures are obviously going to slow it down. It's an ipod with a tiny program on it, get real! Also, as for requiring an internet connection. I don't know what this "always needs a connection" thing is. I've never had a problem with mine.
For the record, my gflash has NEVER crashed, NEVER asked for a connection, and is NEVER slow.
If you're a student, I HIGHLY RECOMMEND this program. Even though typing in questions and answers into google docs may be tedious, it's still faster than writing out flash cards. And an iPod takes a lot less space to carry around than a stack of flash cards.

Incredible useful for Hebrew flashcards!

I first noticed this app a couple of months ago, attempted to download a flashcard set from the online catalogue only to realize that Hebrew (and other languages that are written from right to left) didn't look so great. I gave up on this as a flashcard option, but then I tried again... this time with the excellent online support from gflash+. With a couple of trial runs and some tests, Hebrew now appears beautifully with all letters and vowel points inplace.
This app has saved me tones of time making flashcards, not to mention having to keep up with the 800+ flashcards I need to be cycling through for 2 foreign languages I'm trying to keep up with. Also, the quiz feature is much more useful that I first realized with the program automatically going back through the flashcards you got wrong.
Really great job!

Yeah, it's got some ads but it's still cheaper than the alternatives. I don't know what the other reviewer was saying about "only three sets". You can download as much as you want using Google spreadsheets and it works either in right/wrong or multiple choice mode. There's a bunch of prebuilt flashcards already out there on their site including jokes and trivia.
Update 10/16/08: Really like the new features in 0.4i. I did accidentally click on the wrong multiple choice item when scrolling, but I was able to fix it by changing the "tap count" to double tap in the iTouch Settings for gFlash. (Later i found that if you "flick" the scroll, that works too)

This is a great app, I tend to study by typing up questions and answers for myself so transferring that to a google spreadsheet was simple. The app is intuitive, provides a few different ways to memorize information, and it's free! Thanks for developing an app like this, without dedication to free software and education, poor college students like me would have to waste paper using actual flashcards!

As a stressed out High School AP senior, this program came as quite a relief to the stress I constantly face. Last year I probably went through at least eleven or twelve packs of notecards, and rather than having to write them all out, it is so much easier to type them all. I never lose any of the notecards either, so when finals come around i'll be very prepared. THANK YOU creators of gFlash for your AMAZING contribution.

This is my favorite Iphone app--also you can go to studystack web site to get LOTS of files to export to Google docs, and you can use (free) NeoOffice on imac to convert 2 column files on mac to file extension Google docs will accept, and use Google docs to create a spreadsheet where flash card files on mac can be imported. So you end up with LOTS of files in Google docs that you can choose to download into your iphone

Really nice program. I was able to make my own cards in no time at all. Does crash occasionally when browsing cards, if it happens several times in a row a simple reboot fixes it. If I had paid $3 I might be upset about the crashes, but it's free!!! Hope to see nicer graphics in the future. The blackberry version looks really clean. Update: sept 18 Wow, now it looks even worse. Who came up with the black background?
