Reviews:
Great app By: hottnikz - May 8, 2009 Version: 1.1.2 Would have gotten a better rating, but I can't do the screenshots because I have a iPod touch. Wish the specifications would have made that clear, would have saved a buck on this. ****Updated**** OK I'm updating this review because I was wrong, you can do screenshots with a iPod touch. Duh! I'm a newbie user so I didn't realize I could until later. Sorry about that. Also thank you for the upgrade, adding snap to grid, it was so very helpful. I can use this for homework now!
Needs more By: jc26193 - Jun 2, 2009 Version: 1.1.3 The normal calculator is a waste since iPhone already has a scientific calculator. It should have the ability to trace derivatives of functions, so a d/dx button would be much appreciated. Besides that, extremely useful app! Keep up the good work! If you could make it in such a way so that you can write functions of other functions, for example: y2=d/dx(y1), this would be the best graphing calculator in history!!!!
Does everything I need it to. By: Tekprst - Sep 6, 2009 Version: 1.1.4 I am taking Intermediate Algebra and the teacher recommended we all buy $99 graphing calculators for the class. This app along with a few other .99c ones, have allowed me to do everything I have needed in class and saved me a bunch of money. The app has some basic help, but no manual. But that is because it works like just about every other graphing calculator so just use one of the many online tutorials for the TI series graphing calcs and you should be able to use this app just fine.
Great App By: lgug - Nov 5, 2009 Version: 1.1.5 This is a great app that works perfectly though it could use a few additions.1. Numerical derivative calculator that can graph a function, and calculate the derivative of specific points.2. Integral calculator3. Min/Max feature4. Best fit lines possibly for data that user inputs. These are all fairly easly implemented. And would be a great improvement to the app! Keep up the good work and thanks to the developer!

..Wow.. By: Bojangles8u - Jan 17, 2009 Version: 1.0.2 You would think that for a free app that it wouldn't be that good and it would crash your phone/touch a lot. But I was amazed by it. It did what a graphing calculator does! But the graph is so much nicer! In colors, and since it's a touch screen you don't have to fool with adjusting it either!! It was just amazing.. Graphing calculators may do a bit more, but for some average math this should be the calculator it comes with instead.
I asked, I received... By: Pete with Mac Mini G4 - 28-Apr-2009 Version: 1.1.1 I thought this app was fairly good when I first got it about three weeks ago, the only fault being that you were unable to change from radians to degrees. However, now with the new update its so easy to flip between the two. Also with the new table of data it's better than by £70 graphing calculator! I can now screenshot my iPhone, email the image to my computer and place the images into portfolio work. Great work, a must buy for mathematicians.
Trace Feature Suggestion By: jrpvt - Oct 11, 2008 Version: 1.0 This app is awesome.. it's so nice to be able to graph equations right on my iPod! However if there were some way to be able to input an x-value whilst tracing so you could get a y-value for say, x=2, instead of getting as close to to as you can to x=2 with your finger. And I don't know how plausible this would be, but a derivative calculator would be pretty sweet too.. I don't think it would be too hard to code, as long as you're inputting the x-value. And maybe integrals... ;) Thank you so much for making this application though! I'm very satisfied.
Fantastic High School Must Have! By: JoeyCrack92 - Apr 24, 2009 Version: 1.1.1 I am currently a Junior in High School. I wish i had this app way back in freshman year. 99 cents for a $150+ tool? You can't beat that. I appreciate the new updates. I believe this is easier to use than normal (physical) graphing calculators. Its a great excuse to use to have my phone out in class. My teacher uses my phone to show the class how to do problems. He loves this app. Im glad i got it for free when it first came out. =] thanks keep up the awesome updates. Love the new interface!
Great App except for a small bug~ By: WonderMacYC - Oct 1, 2008 Version: 1.0 It should be one of the best apps in the store so far. It's of great use. And more importantly, it is freeeeeeeeeeeeee~~ But even though I marked a Full Stars to the app, the programmer should know that if user resize the graph to a certain size, I mean, to get a large enough view, it may crash. And a proper example is the sinh() function. When I resize the axis in order to get a full view of the graph, it crashes every time. Please make an upgrade to the app so that it will be better. Thank you.

Good, looking forward to updates By: Diwjsbwoakspxnwlmsbsub - Sep 17, 2008 Version: 1.0 This app is great, for people still in algebra and easy math, but it doesn't find roots, max/mins, intersections, derivatives, or definite integrals. To people comparing this to a ti 83/84: Don't! they're not the same! Try a ti 84 silver edition and then this, nothing alike; however this is app free and the ti 84 is notThis is a promising app and does what it says(for free!), and I look forward to the updates (which hopefully include integrals) if this all was included it would easily be worth at least $50 and they give it out for free! 5 stars
very satisfied with this calc By: TopAppRater - 13-Sep-2008 Version: 1.0 not bad at all for starters. very simple to use, great for a basic highshool to first years college student. love how it changes landscape when you turn it. best of all its completely free! I would definitely download it, and looking forward for all the great improvements that this app is gonna get. would like to see some implicit functions as well, and I dont think I see a sq. root option there right now.....
Great By: Flappity floo - Jan 25, 2009 Version: 1.0.2 This is a very amazing app. Nuff said. Some things you will want to know,- google "iPhone graphing calc Gabor Nagy", you will find his calculator blog showing the next update- to get the graph to a square proportion, go to settings and type x min/max is -3,3 and y min max is -4,4 this will make an even graph. (this is a proportion so x=-30,30 and y=-40,40 will work as well)- I believe this is the only calculator on the app store that has trace function- this kicks azz on tests as wellBuh-bye!
Recommended for Math 11 By: randydecker - 31-Dec-2008 Version: 1.0.2 I would recommend this application for use in Math 11 in British Columbia. It can tackle almost everything in the curriculum. Its display is far better than the Ti-83 or Ti-84. One can easily compare graphs because each is a different colour. It lacks a TVM solver. However, one can use graphs to solve some financial problems such as finding the time required to double an investment. One feature I really like is the ability to take a screenshot of a graph and email it.
Great graphing app, more features! By: r... c.. - 26-Jan-2009 Version: 1.0.2 It does it's job very well. I'm pretty pleased with the ease of the whole thing, espically using multi-touch to control the sizing of the graph. However, I doubt this will ever come close to the power of a TI's other functions or it would become a very large possibly slow app. So to the others who say it would replace it for pre-calculus students... I highly doubt they would let you bring in your cell phone or let you use it for that matter... Espically an iPhone that has internet capabilitys out the wazoo. But I digress.Keep up the good work! Would like some min/max features like the TI can do or possibly pointing out where two functions intersect.
Amazing, cheaper than a CAS By: Luna la Libellule - 18-Dec-2009 Version: 1.1.5 While I got this for free, I would gladly pay a lot for it, this app is easily as good as my $200 CAS calculator. For vce students in Australia, I've found that this is really useful for maths methods and also stoichiometry in chemistry when I leave my calculator behind. Also, it's very quick and no sluggish loading period. A fantastic app, and I do like the colour scheme. To the reviewer who mentioned circles, my maths teacher told us that graphing calculators cannot graph circles because they are by functions, so nothing is missing there. Any less than five stars would be unjust!
Wow! By: Mfez0123 - Sep 17, 2008 Version: 1.0 So far I have just barely tested it but just the idea that I can have a graphing calculator at hand, is amazing. Im taking a calculus class and this comes in very handy when you dont have a $70 graphing calculator. The user interface is awesome and works well with iPhone's multi-touch. I'm surprised it's FREE! I would have paid at least $5 or more for it, as long as it is accurate and patched up which it still needs but still good enough.
This is a must-have for all math students from trig on up -- and their tutors By: .Net Developer - Sep 12, 2008 Version: 1.0 I majored in math and would have LOVED this app when I was in college. I tried it out with a few functions and am really impressed by its simplicity and power. Tilting the screen sideways provides for a landscape view of the function you've graphed. And multiple graphs can be displayed simultaneously. Kudos to Mr. Nagy for writing such a great iPhone application and providing it free of charge!
WOW!!!!! By: Navy Seawolf - Dec 1, 2008 Version: 1.0.2 I ran a comparing test on this app and my girlfriend's Texas Imstruments graphing calculator, OMG this thing is way better. The key + sides to this app are: - Streamlined UI - color coded multiple equations - very simple Input interface - the price Not only is this app easier to use, you will end up saving a $100+ from getting some bulky graphing calculator. It is especially great for high school students (such as myself) because of the ease of use and the plentiful savings. GET THIS APP!!!!
fantastic app for high school math By: Mass Reader - Jan 28, 2009 Version: 1.0.2 I tutor kids in high school math, and I cannot express how useful this app has been for me. It's much more intuitive to use than a typical graphing calculator, and the graphs are so crisp and easy to read. The ability to pinch and zoom makes it better than any graphic calculator or computer application (including Matlab). My students love it, too. This is the best learning tool I have seen in the app store. My congratulations to the developers!
