I'm quite the history nerd, so I got this app the moment I saw it. I'm not sure what people are talking about when they say they can't zoom in, or get a blurry image when they do. I had neither of these problems. The zoomed image was a bit blurry at first, but cleared up a few seconds later. The one thing keeping this app from 5 stars? More maps, especially including the 11th-13th centuries if possible. That would be great.

Contrary to other reviews, the resolution on these maps are excellent when enlarged. It just takes a moment for the detail to process. The only short-comings are that onced you've zoomed in, the maps are obviously quite large for such a small screen, and when moving the maps around while enlarged, it sometimes takes a few moments for the new section to load. But if that's the worst I can say about a free app, then it's pretty good in my book!

You CAN zoom in and it is pretty informative for a free app. Best of all for people with an iPod Touch: you don't need internet to use it!!!

I would guess the maps occupy a bit of memmory so zooming and panning take time, but you can see good detail after zooming. Please add more historical (WWI and Ii ).

This free app has good quality historical maps and is well worth the quick download (ideal for history fanatics). By the way, you can zoom perfectly well. You simply have to wait a few seconds after scrolling your fingers to zoom as you wait for the new zoomed in image to load. Of course, no zooming would make this app pointless, but that's not how it is.

It may not be useful in the traditional sense of the word but this app is unusual and something interesting to look at from time to time... I rotate some of my more unusual apps to keep things interesting and "fresh" and this has been added as one of those revolving apps...
