Description:
See the International Space Station from you own backyard! ISS Visibility displays 10 to 30 day predictions for when the International Space Station may be visible for your location. It can display a chart of the whole sky, or a more detailed chart showing the path of the space station across the sky. Unlike most other satellites, the International Space Station is bright enough to be seen even under bright city lights. It's very easy to spot once you know where to look for it. FEATURES - Use location services to get your current location, or enter the location manually - Define and save multiple location co-ordinates. Saves satellite passes and charts on the device for use offline. - Dark colour scheme to help maintain your night vision. - Whole sky chart. - Detailed sky chart. - Ground Plot chart. When refreshing passes for a location. If a wifi connection is detected, all the charts for the passes will be downloaded and saved automatically. When a cellular data connection is detected, the charts will not be downloaded automatically. Instead, as the charts are viewed manually, they are downloaded and saved. NOTE: There will be times when the ISS will not be visible from your location in the next ten days. This is usually followed by a period when it's visible for consecutive days, and often twice in the one day. Requires an internet connection to download pass data. All the charts and pass data is supplied by www.heavens-above.com.

Want to see ISS? Here is your tool. By: Barker68 - Jul 13, 2009 Version: 1.2 I love this app on my 3Gs, I used to use Heavens Above but this app made it much easier to check a pass in quick second! I was worried about the $1.99 cost but for me it was worth it. It's plain and simple (but gives you all the info you need) but to the point! Sure I would love to have irridium flare info BUT the program is called ISS Visibility. It would be nice if there was a feature to select a pass and have it notify you with a push/growl popup.
Very easy. Will be seeing the ISS buzz over your house in no time. By: centexiphone - Aug 15, 2009 Version: 1.2 Simple interface, nothing fancy, but it does what it's supposed to do. It autolocates, then tells you when the ISS will be visible at your location for the next 2 weeks. No shuttle, no satellites, nothing else, but the ISS. That's the title, and that's what it does. Gives the exact time and location in the sky, as well as the magnitude. I cherry pick the best flyovers that are brightest, longest, and easy to find. They're also the most dramatic. Very functionally little app, thanks for make it.
Waiting for Next Update By: Scopegeek - Las Vegas Astronomical Society - Oct 24, 2009 Version: 1.3 I love what this app does. It presents the data from Heavens-Above.com very well. Screens are attractive and well laid out. I'm glad I went to the ISS Visibility Support website before writing this review. The next update plans to address two of the three shortcomings I noted - (1) hold coordinates for other locations, (2) save data for upcoming passes to the iPhone for use offline, and (3) an alarm or alert notification prior to a scheduled pass. Since most of the dark sites used by the LVAS don't have cell phone or internet coverage, it would be nice to load upcoming passes for a selected site prior to departing for that site and then refer to the pass information offline at the observing site. An alarm/alert 5 or 10 minutes prior to the pass would be helpful, especially when I'm busy conducting a public star party. I'm looking forward to the next update - at that point, my next review might very well be 5 stars.

Awesum app By: Nighthunter11 - Jul 21, 2009 Version: 1.2 First time i looked!! BAM!! Right in front of me. Awesum
Easier than using the website! By: Phoof - Sep 30, 2009 Version: 1.3 Works flawlessly. Nice to have considering if it's night time and you're outside, you probably don't have access to a PC to check the website. Gives me the info much quicker than if I had to go to the website. Would be nice if it could somehow buzz a reminder on the iPhone just prior to the viewing.
Brilliant By: Redpaul99 - 14-Sep-2009 Version: 1.3 Great app. Pass times are accurate and maps are easy to read. Ipod touch users can input their location.
Good for 1st Version By: AllanFromm - Jul 3, 2009 Version: 1.1 I have been waiting for an app like this since day 1 of the App Store and this works great. It would like to have an optional table of flybys that would be easy to scan for upcoming sightings by date & time, elevation and magnitude, etc. that would take just a glance to see what is coming up. I can see this app being on every science teacher's iPhone and a lot of others as well.

Great App By: jfgconnolly - Aug 27, 2009 Version: 1.2 Great app, easy to follow. Wish it would give me the option to sync with a calendar function.
Enjoy it. By: T in MA - Sep 8, 2009 Version: 1.3 downloaded on a whim and went to a Labor Day cookout. Countdown was on..we all looked to the sky and a few moments later..there it was. I suggest looking at when it might pass, then use your compass to be sure you are looking in the right direction. Before you know it you will see it. Looking forward to trying it out again tonight for a 5+ minute pass!

iss visibility By: bluelakediver - 09-Aug-2009 Version: 1.2 heavens above great little application - would like to see actual ground track but works great
Good app By: M7GTR4 - Jul 26, 2009 Version: 1.2 This is a good app. Could use some tweaks. What the app really needs right now is to have the times of passes durring daylight hours as well as night time. Heavens-above.com(the site the app is based on), shows multiple passes per day, so should this app.
Cant really give a review. By: Vbroere - Aug 1, 2009 Version: 1.2 Gross. Just bought the app. No visible passes for the next 10 days. I kind of feel a little bit scammed. :(
Must be connected to wi-fi By: NyNewbie - Sep 25, 2009 Version: 1.3 I knew I would have to connect to get the data, but I thought if I was off-line it would at least keep the last data pulled in. It doesn't so that won't be helpful when off camping. Might as well just go to heavens-above website and save the screen shot. For the price, you should be able to set up an alarm to remind you to go watch. If you have never watch it fly by, it is a cool thing to see.
Doesn't work on iPod By: Biglee2009 - 16-May-2009 Version: 1.0 It would be a great app but it has to use gps location. You can't input your location. Please fix this with an update.
Needs revision By: wildcatgary - Aug 5, 2009 Version: 1.2 Loaded and failed... loadded and failed. Then when it finally ran, it came back with 1 satellite in "7days" 1 satellite in 7 days? Come on!!!! Get a freeb before this half-program!
