My 9 year old daughter loves the Drills App. It all started when she was frustrated that she was unable complete the times 4 worksheet at school. At first we used the lite version just to see how it worked, but the full version allowed us to isolate the area she needed help with. After passing the 4’s worksheet the next day she came home from school very excited. She grabbed the iTouch and adjusted the setting for her next worksheet by herself and began practicing. My wife and I are very impressed with how easy it is to adjust the setting for our other kids and track their progress as well.

I like that this does NOT have multiple choice or silly pictures to distract my daughter. I love the custom settings to specify the numbers she needs to work on. It's perfect that it shows you the wrong answer you typed and allows you to keep tying to get the right answer. My only complaint is that the keypad seems a little too small...but maybe it's just my adult fingers. Although it is bigger than Apple's keyboard for typing :)I'm just glad after trying out 7 apps that appeared to meet my criteria, I finally found this one.

Pretty good, only one I could find where numbers are shown vertically.

I like this one. I like that the numbers are shown vertically, like you'd write them to solve with bigger numbers. I think that helps my kids (8 year old twins) solve the problems by columns, tens, ones, etc. That's very helpful as they're just learning.
I do wish there was some indication when they get a problem "right." A wrong answer gets a "gong," I think it would help to give a beep when they get the right answer. As it is I found it a trifle confusing, since the new problem just appears where the old one was, I almost didn't notice it was changed. A little transition would help maybe.
I'm going to get the full version, since I think this is on the right track.

Easy to setup. Great tool for my child to learn multiplication. This app is so well done, it is hard to believe it is free.

This app is great. Being able to customize the facts to be drilled in the order they appear in our curriculam is beyond cool. This app has a nice clean, useable interface - especially usefull with a child with vison tracking issues like mine. I was excited to see there was a similar version for the desktop (but with more features), i'll be saving my pennies for that!

My 2nd grader, Kindergartener and I love this. We use it to reinforce the math drills we are doing for homeschool. VERY easy to set up for specific numbers. Like this app a lot especially because it's free :)

My 7 y/o uses this app to practice his math facts daily. He's excited that he gets to do his homework on mom's phone. He tries hard to beat his fastest score. It has helped and will continue to help as we get into learning multiplication and division. I love the interface! Excellent app!

This is GREAT graphics are simple but nice to look at, good for studying for little tests for school and even just using it when you are in the car or have some time to spare! Just drills! Don't buy it if you want to do hard algebraic equations or whatnot! This app is for those who just want to warm up their brain with some quick and simple DRILLS!

The numberline feature gives an excellent visual on the mechanics of computation. It gives hints as you go so that the child can see how the answer is derived.
