Description:
Galaxy Physics in your pocket! Galaxy Collider simulates the universe in your pocket. So brace yourself for the collision of the Milky Way with the Andromeda Galaxy! Galaxy Collider simulates the physics of interacting galaxies by computing the gravitational forces between the stars and the heavy galaxy centers. Galaxy collider features a high performance particle engine that can interactively visualize spectacular galaxy interactions. It uses OpenGL point sprites for rendering thousands of high-quality stars at high frame rates. The parameters of the simulation, such as the number of galaxies and stars, masses, etc. can be changed interactively to explore the infinite number of possible interactions between the galaxies. Galaxy collider uses the build-in accelerometer of IPhone or IPod touch to change viewpoints add real external forces to the simulation. For further information about interacting galaxies check out the Wikipedia article at http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Interacting_galaxy)

Big Ol' Neato factor By: Justin Roninger - Apr 13, 2009 Version: 1.01 It's great to run across a trully fascinating application, and a bonus when it's done so well. I love this app for just watching when needing something to think about or to apply my curiosity. I wish it would have a high-accuracy setting, allowing each star to calculate tragectory from at least the nearest stars, and not just the galaxy centers. I know it chews up processing power and run slow. So what.
Pretty decent first try By: Obe - Jan 15, 2009 Version: 1.0 This is a pretty cool conceptual app. It shows random galaxies colliding with each other. The graphics are decent and it's just fun. I have two quams about it though. The first is that most of the time the animation ends before you can see a whole new steady galaxy form and the other is that it annoyingly rotates with the movement of the iPhone. I would suggest that the author allow this app to be seen in full screen which would make the experience a bit more realistic. But hey, it's $0.99 so it's well worth a download. My advice is to give it a try...I think you'll like it.
Stunning! By: Just another Canadian - 19-Jan-2009 Version: 1.0 This app makes gravity visible! You can see the deformation as the galaxies approach each other from every angle imaginable. Double the mass of one and watch it tear spirals of stars away from another. Wanna go mental? Try watching 3 galxies slam into each other - the possibilities really are endless!
Any chance of adding a time scale (eg millions of years or multiples of speed of light) to the collisions? Maybe start with some assumption about the size of 1 interstellar unit? These are not complaints, merely suggestions. I love this app!
Wonderful By: Opticfibre - 16-Sep-2009 Version: 1.11 I can't stop watching this. Hypnotic and relaxing! Well done.

awesome By: $QU33B0 - Feb 17, 2009 Version: 1.01 It's great
I have one suggestion.
When 2 or more galaxies collide they fly off... When that happens could you maybe make it possible us to follow it.
Maybe by putting 4 fingers on the screen.
Great App By: Spacetech - Feb 7, 2009 Version: 1.01 I'm looking forward to some great updates to this already great app!
Amazing By: Dadasas - Jan 15, 2009 Version: 1.0 ...

Video Output? By: Circular polarization - 20-Mar-2009 Version: 1.01 Superb execution. I concur with others; a moving time counter would be helpful. In addition, it would be useful if users could output video to a file for future use. Four stars only leaves room for improvement! Well done.
Beautiful! By: Bobalooga - Nov 12, 2009 Version: 1.11 Great App! It's almost deserving of five stars... Just need a full screen option and the ability to keep your settings between uses. Then I'd give it a well deserved five stars!!! This one is worth buying!
