If your one of those people who owns a USB TV tuner, and like me don't use it as often as you should, this will bring a new lease of life to it. Don't be fooled though, in order to use this free app you will need to purchase Equinux's 'The Tube' TV software for Mac at a price of £30. After this though, setup was easy. I plugged in my Elgato DTT/DVB-T, scanned the channels, and I was away. The app only operates over a Wi-Fi connection, and requires a 5-8 second buffer when switching channels. Other than that, this app is perfect for putting Freeview TV in your pocket! Must buy. :)

Probably one of the most innovative apps on the iPhone, but I think a lot of people have missunderstood the description. You need a Mac and you need equinux's software "The Tube" to run this. I fortunately had both of these before downloading and now I get TV streamed to my iPod touch anywhere in my house. Have to admit I didn't really see the point originally, but now I find myself more and more taking the iPod with me while doing the washing up...

First, for those complaining: This application goes along with a commercial product. For those of us who have it, this is a nice add-on. Before complaining about how you need "other" bits and it's unfair, remember that the ONLY way to get an app to the iPhone is via the app store. So, how else would we get it? Chew on that before giving a technically clever app a one-star rating. And, who knows? Seeing this app may inspire some to get their product and continue to fund free add-one like this. As for the app, it works well and is a nice value-add to my TubeStick Hybrid. Now I can get up an walk away and still watch my show. Near trick, and well-implemented. No, I don't work for the makers of the app, I'm just tired of clueless people who post reviews before thinking. Update: New version is even better. Too bad people are too stupid to read the description.

I downloaded this yesterday. The setup is a breeze, and all works as advertised. There is a bit of delay as the server prepares, then the iPod/Phone buffers for around 10 seconds and shows the TV picture. I would have liked it to also send the EPG so I know what is on TV, maybe in V1.1. Picture quality is fair but not great and if your wireless signal is poor then it will keep buffering. A good V1.0 release.

I've had the Equinux Live TV app on my 1st Gen iPod Touch for about an hour and it works great anywhere in my home. The resolution of the Live TV picture on my Touch is not quite as good as those that are recorded and played back on the TubeToGo app, but still very viewable. The picture quality is actually better than most of the videos I've watched on YouTube. I did discover that the app works best if you hide the picture on your Mac while using Live TV. Well done Equinux!

Whoever suggested it didn't work I suspect doesn't already have the fabulous The Tube software installed for a TubeStick or TV Mini or such. This streams live wherever you are in the home or office WLAN. Its pluses are absolute ease-of-use, auto-sensing - no thought required to get it to operate, intuitive user friendly interface, and tube-to-go maximises Mobile Me facility. Drawbacks so far are mild: stteaming live picture occasionally locks static and power button needs to be held, but rather than power off, clicking 'cancel' returns operability to the iPhone, and the app can be reactivated and then functions normally, so no real problem more a rare irritant. And The Tube software itself these days can experience difficulty sensing/tuning certain TV channels going into an endless blank search which requires a restart of the software. Also, the EPG automatically insists on taking the telly offline for a little too long and even if delayed, it repeatedly returns the dialogue so eventually the EPG must be refreshed - should be controllable. That said, Equinux's software auto-update function, frequent updates and attentive support make them one of the most impressive Mac developers.

Ugh, some people drive me nuts. The app does EXACTLY what it says it does. I have the tubestick hybrid and really like it. Thank you developers for giving us free apps to compliment your product. For those that don't know what "it" is, there's this little search engine called google... give it a whirl <eye roll>

Every idiot on here needs to figure out where their brain is and turn it on and try reading. This is an app for people that already have the hardware, it's a great app that's free if you're already using the tube for other uses. If you don't have the tube, don't download the app and birch that it doesn't work!
