Thanks Apple - OPLAYER is a must have app you could have banned! By: Vic Healey - Aug 20, 2010 Version: 1.0.06 That open with feature means it is compatible with things like the DropBox app. You download using your favorite file management application DropBox, GoodReader, Readdle , Go Arua etc.), select OPEN WITH and pick OPLAYER from the list. The only apps that work with this feature register the files they can open with iOS4. Even if they can handle the files some iPad programmers do not register with iOS and their program is only half useful from other apps. This is a new app and I expect any rough edges to be policshed in time but for a first time out of the box it is a WINNER.This is another one of the few iPad applications that I can unreservedly highly recommend.Skip a couple of beers and download OPlayer immediately!BTW I have cineXPlayer and IMHO OPlayer is a far bigger bang for your BUCK!
About time... By: Wkfuwngkcmsk - Aug 10, 2010 Version: 1.0.05 So after years of not being able to watch .avi and .mkv on iOS, all of a sudden it's a piece of cake? This works perfectly, what took Apple so long? They couldn't be bothered to do it themselves, they made us reformat every stupid video file we wanted to put on an iOS device, and now these developers give us a simple, easy converter for 5 bucks? I would pay $50 if I never would have had to reformat files just to watch them on my iPhone or iPad. No more reformatting for $5? A bargain.
Outstanding! By: Nujazz Connoisseur - Jul 9, 2010 Version: 1.0.03 Guys and gals, this app really does work. All you have to do to make most of your avi files work properly is to go into the Settings of the app and make sure that Skip Frame is set to OFF. In this case, there will be no stuttering and jumping. My avi files play smoothly - just like on my computer. Also, it is great that you can download avi files straight from the web from inside the app or copy them from computer via iTunes.I am now saying goodbye to Air Video which never worked great for me.Take my review seriously -- look at my other reviews and take a note that I rate apps fairly.UPDATE: You guys who are giving this app bad reviews are acting as if there are many apps that compete in this field. The fact that this is the ONLY app in the whole store that can excellently play the preferred internet conversion file which is .avi should NOT be underestimated. Please be realistic in your reviews so that others know exactly what this app does.
A good app! By: Prof_biz - Jul 9, 2010 Version: 1.0.03 I have been looking for an app to play .avi files without first having to convert them to mp4. This is the first app that I have found that can do the job. Don't underestimate the challenge - I imagine that the app has to do the conversion on the fly in software without any hardware acceleration - this is hard to do given the limited cpu and ram. Given this challenge, this app does an admirable job. it is not perfect (yet!), but it is a good first pass. The developer seems to be updating the app, fixing bugs, and adding features. If you want to be able to play a wide range of video formats on your ipad, then it is worthwhile spending the $5 to support this app and its developer.
Oplayer By: Tomo pavilion - 12-Sep-2010 Version: 1.0.07 I have been using another app of this nature, had lots of avi files that would not play, found this app omg brilliant tried lots of my movies have yet to find 1 that won't play, have not noticed any frame rate problems as yet, this app is a must have.Would like to see folders to separate movie types and also thumb nails would be great, otherwise a wonderful app for watching your movie collection. Buy it now.
Almost Perfect By: Jen56 - 22-Aug-2010 Version: 1.0.06 I bought this app after trying the lite version, it has played everything that I have thrown at it so far, playback is great most of the time, the only thing I had noticed was a slight, and I do mean slight slurring of video on fast paced scenes. This app is worth the money it adds to the magic of the iPad. I have many files that are in divx format, being able to play them on my iPad is the icing on the cake.
Good playback, poor browsing UI By: Amorya - 06-Aug-2010 Version: 1.0.05 It really plays most video formats, and fairly smoothly too. Since that's the main point of the app, I give it four stars. The ui for browsing for files is less good. The web browser doesn't return to the page you were last on. SMB browsing had a better interface, but you can only download from there, not stream like you can from the browser. Overall, a bit of interface polish will make this a great app. For now it is good.
Great fun was had! By: Photon1966 - 17-Jul-2010 Version: 1.0.03 This was just what I was looking for. It plays my television shows and movies really well. Even some of my anime works well. But not all of he anime. I was watching a Hellsing show and the movie was playing, sounds were coming out, and subtitles were showing but nothing was in sync with each other. While another one played great with subtitles and sound working just right. That's why I gave it four stars. Also the manager of the files is still a little clunky but I expect that will improve as it has in other apps I have bought. I certainly have enjoyed my lunch times more with this app and also when I went away for a weekend I had something to watch during the rain.
Great App By: Salamandix - Sep 13, 2010 Version: 1.0.07 Great App, Keep going!

Best Video Player for iPAD By: PowerSpawn - Aug 17, 2010 Version: 1.0.05 Finally I can play any type of Video in my iPad. I don't have to limit to Apple iTune's control of what I want to see.The quality of the HD video is not perfect but it is the best Video player for now. I love it!

Works great! By: Joshua NYC RN - Aug 9, 2010 Version: 1.0.05 There's a little delay with HD movies, but nothing that will not let you watch the XVID movies. I tried YXPlayer and it didn't work for me. I was able to sync easily with Itunes and the movies are easy to access. Everyone should get this app! True Blood on my iPad now! :)
Only app that plays WMA! + XVID's play Smoothly By: NumAiX - Aug 6, 2010 Version: 1.0.05 UPDATE 2: Smooth icon, app going straight to home screen. 5 amazing stars.New update on iOS 3.2.1 all sync issues with avis have been fixed! Avi's playing really smooth now. Please Change the ugly white background for the app icon!Outstanding application. Totally worth the money!
My Review By: xoz70 - 11-Oct-2010 Version: 1.0.08 Main strengths: most movie formats are supported, video out support, streaming or playing movie while downloading it, samba support Weaknesses: no audio out during video out session, not smooth playback in some movie formats Overall: The best movie player so far but still lots of things to improve.
Don't buy By: jl@apple - 29-Aug-2010 Version: 1.0.07 Give my money back

App has promise By: vegaspimp - Jun 20, 2010 Version: 1.0.01 Let me tell you, this app in its current form is unusable, however it has major promise. It is already light years ahead of Yxplayer and needs only a little more tweaking to get it to work perfectly. Audio and video stutter, if that can be fixed you got yourself a vlc replacement for the IPAD. Authors please continue to tweak this cuz I really want it to work!!!!
Good stuff By: Flubbtyr - 26-Sep-2010 Version: 1.0.07 Can now play videos from my email that my iPad didn't support before, so it's a breakthrough. Very good.
