How to make remote the complete package By: kingpin81486 - Mar 12, 2009 Version: 1.2 First off I love this program I use it everyday. There is one fix that will make this the ultimate app if you could connect to your mac through bluetooth. This would be benifical to utilize your itunes dj for real djs. A dj could use there mac laptop make a playlist in itunes dj then have a iphone to allow the people in the crowd to request song from his full library without WIFI to add a personal touch to the mix. This would make apple the ultimate dj tool especially since you can now download songs directly from your iphone without WIFI.
Anyone who has a problem using this application!!! READ THE FOLLOWING By: Pupulik - Jan 4, 2009 Version: 1.1.1 You are suppose to go to your iTunes preferences and make your iTunes shareable. After you are done with this step use your app (Remote) on your iPhone or iPod touch, and as soon as you start the app it will find your iTunes "make sure you select your iTunes" and than you will be done. And also for some of you: this app is NOT going to play from your iPhone or iPod touch, it will play from your computers speaker. Good luck, if you guys have any questions send me a message.
Perfect By: jiark - 05-Dec-2009 Version: 1.3.3 @Scott_salter The App obviously is not much use to you if you are sat at your Mac or Pc. If you have AppleTV or AirTunes you can control your music in multiple rooms as I do. Even on the patio in summer during BBQ. I can choose playlists, turn the volume Up/Down, view all my albums in coverflow etc. Honestly, what's not to like? Normally, I'd have to go back into a room or even the house to switch music or control the volume on the amps. Other iPhone users at a party can even request a track from my entire playlist and I use my iPhone to authorise it. I really don't get the negative reviews? This has basically saved me from purchasing Sonos players. Way up the cost of Sonos and then compare prices of AirTunes and amps/speakers/subs on offer at RicherSounds. The quality of the separates for sound blows Sonos out of the water. Those saying it won't connect are either computer illiterate or have a garbage WiFi connection. Best with an all round wireless .N setup but still works great on older versions. Never once had a problem with the App or receiving at the iMac or the MacBook end.
Amazing app... 5+ stars! By: Popeye Sailorman - 21-Nov-2009 Version: 1.3.3 The Remote app has the functionality I always wanted, packaged beautifully and working flawlessly. There are many 3rd party remote apps but they all require the user to keep an eye on the computer screen for feedback. This one lets the user operate iTunes from the next rook, the veranda, the garden and gives him the oinfo and visuals he/she needs to enjoy the experience. I wish we could get more, similar type Apple remote apps for operating iPhoto, Front Row, etc. with visuals and all. I also wish I could give more than 5 stars to this free app! Congrats Apple, keep it up. 3rd party app developers learn lessons from this app...
Wi-Fi Stuff By: NitroBum - Jan 4, 2009 Version: 1.1.1 The problem that many people have is that they cannot see the place to enter the passcode in iTunes. This is not because the Remote doesn't work. It is simply because the remote needs a computer with its own Wi-Fi connection, i.e. a laptop. Most desktop computers will not be able to use this app unless they have Wi-Fi internet access, which isn't too likely. Besides that, the remote works flawlessly, 5 stars. Click Yes to keep this info at the top.
Does everything except launch iTunes By: ddkilzer - Jul 11, 2008 Version: 1.0 The "Remote" appliation lets you control just about every aspect of music playback on iTunes 7.7 remotely, except launching iTunes itself. Kudos to Apple for having the foresight to ship iTunes 7.7 with features to support this application, and then providing the app for free! It looks as professional as any original iPhone OS application. In fact, I think the next iPhone OS should ship with it! (And how about an Apple TV-enhanced version for video playback?)
Fantastic! By: madmuso - 29-Jul-2008 Version: 1.0 I don't know why it took me so long to download this app but now I have, I can see why everyone's raving about it. Okay, I don't have AppleTV or Aiport but I can control my iTunes library from anywhere in my flat and now I've dug out a decent set of speakers I can really blast out those tunes while I'm working at the computer or change tracks while I'm in another room. For something that's free, this is a really great app and one for anyone who's got wireless. The setup took me a while to figure out (mainly because wireless was off on my iphone at the time) but once it was up and running, it was really easy to use.
Wow By: appstorelover - 23-Dec-2008 Version: 1.1.1 This is a very cool app! It works amazingly well. It connected right away and I was blown away. But I know this has nothing to do with the app, but I have something to say to Apple. I along with many other people enjoy the app store.the thing is, i don't have a credit card and would like to buy apps that cost money. Unknown to me was that itunes cards are useless to use on apps in canada. Fix this PLEASE! I am impressed with the reviews on cro mag rally for one and i would like it but i cant buy it. This is a dissapointment. Im done now.
Connection Problems Fix By: Fernando Valle - 4-Aug-2008 Version: 1.0 Hey guys, just a heads up to all those having connection problems. I was always able to successfully connect my ipod touch on a first try, but if i walked away or turned either itunes or my ipod touch off (ie; the connection got lost), then I would be unable to reconnect unless I restarted itunes and resynced everything. I am running windows vista. Then, I turned off my windows firewall (note: only do this if you are behind a router and know what you're doing) and it has been able to connect properly ever since. Apparently, there is a bug with the integration with iTunes and the Vista firewall (can't verify if its with xp too) that prohibits the connection between the ipod touch and the iTunes application if the iPod touch is initiating the connection (hence why it only works whne you pair it, because the iTunes program is what starts the talking). So for any of you having trouble with this program connection, check your firewall settings, or disable your firewall and try again. If you are using the standard windows firewall,I suggest for going with one of the free alternatives. :)
If you use iTunes, I don't understand why you wouldn't use this App By: FrdFcs2001 - Aug 23, 2008 Version: 1.0 This is an awesome app. You listen to iTunes though out your home from your computer weather it's pluged into an entertainment center or you just use your computer speakers, why run back to the computer when something comes on that you don't feel like listening to or you just want to hear something specific? As long as your on the same WiFi as your computer, pull your phone off your hip and change it instead of stopping what your doing just to go to the computer. I love this app, the one thing i'd like to be different is when iTunes comes to a music video, I wish it would just show it on the phone too.
I'd pay for the App but it was free, so @ least try it!

Make sure your computer and iPhone are on the same WIRELESS network. By: Crenshaw13 - Feb 6, 2009 Version: 1.1.1 Great app once you get connection. One VERY IMPORTANT thing about connecting that most help is not mentioning: Make sure is that your computer is also drawing a signal from the same wireless signal that your iPhone/iTouch uses! Remote won't work if your computer is connected via a wired network and your iPhone is on a separate wireless network. For example, if you have a hybrid wired/wireless router (most of them are like that these days) your computer is likely connected via the ethernet cable side and your iPhone/iTouch is connected via the wireless feature. They are not on the same network! Just set up your Mac/PC to your wireless signal IN ADDITION to your wired connection and Remote will work like a charm. Hope that helps!
Pretty Awesome!! By: sevendsix - Jun 18, 2009 Version: 1.2.1 I wasn't to impressed till I got home and actually hooked it up to my laptop. This thing works awesome! It turns your iPhone into the most advanced remote control there is. I have my laptop hooked up to a nice speaker system, so after I easily linked my iPhone to my laptop, I was instantly controlling my iTunes library. The iphone gives you visual feedback similar to using the iPod feature, yet it controls your computer. SWEET! I went downstairs, and across my house, and I could still control the music playing! Imagine the possibilities. Pretty soon they will have WiFi lamps so you can control them with your iPhone! Crazy!!
Here's how to set up By: Rosie11Dancer - Dec 4, 2009 Version: 1.3.3 1. itunes>preferences>device(icon located atop of preferences window)>Show itunes remotes on iphones...(please forgive the paraphasing) 2. Close preference window 3. Iphone/itouch shows up in the sidepane 4. Select Iphone/itouch 5. A window pops up asking you to enter the four digit pass code 6. >Enter the four digits, which are deplayed on your screen. 7.>Enter 8. Remote then shows up on your iphone/itouch Then its on, moving and grooving. Thanks in advance for reading and trying out. S. Rose Thunderword-Cohen Somewhat in Californina
PIN Issue By: LKSu - Nov 25, 2008 Version: 1.1.1 For those of you trying to install it but are having trouble at the "Insert PIN" stage, it has nothing to do with looking for shared libraries or firewall permissions, it's Preferences>Devices then check "Look for iPhone and iPod Touch Remotes." At least that's what my issue was. Hope that helps. As for the app itself, it's simple, sleek, and exactly what you would expect from Apple.
Fantastic App By: Grimmy_EFG - 01-Mar-2009 Version: 1.1.1 Installed this after getting some new speakers for my PC. Fantastic! Ran the app, entered the code displayed on the iPod screen into iTunes and I was away. If only all remote conectivity was so easy. One minor thing: I wish the hardware volume buttons controlled the app as the volume slider is fiddly. I was considering getting an iPod dock with remote, but now that is unnecessary as this app provides better functionality than a little remote!
Re-connection fix By: pleask55 - 19-Jan-2009 Version: 1.1.1 After 3 different firewall progs & 2 months of continual dis-connection & refusal of re-connection (with always giving the old check your firewall settings excuses) I stumbled across a fix to prob. P.S. The dis-connection/re-connection probs always happens when taking calls/txts,changing iphone settings or using just about any other thing or app. on iphone whilst using 'Remote'. I found the ONLY way to re-connect remote to either my Apple TV or itunes library on pc was to REBOOT/turn off & turn back on iphone & then press 'Remote' App. & re-connection happens... but using the standby to off & on again will NOT re-connect ... at least on MY iphone. Maybe an Apple or Remote bug fix is needed ASAP! Thanks. Pete @ Bondi Beach,Sydney.OZ.
Can't connect? here's a tip! By: Jamga86 - 01-Dec-2009 Version: 1.3.3 If you can't connect your remote app to iTunes on a Windows PC, follow steps below: - First, in iTunes, make sure "Look for iPhone and iPod touch remotes" is ticked under the devices tab in "preferences" under Edit menu - Ensure you have Bonjour installed on your PC, this can be dowloaded, free, from Apple.com - Now, on you iPhone/iPod touch, start the Remote app and tap "Add Library" where you are given a 4 digit code - On iTunes, in the left hand column, you should see the Remote icon appear under "Devices", click on this and enter the 4 digit code given on your device (no need to be connected via your USB sync cable) Hope this helps.
Absolutely incredible By: Sailing Badger - 27-Jul-2008 Version: 1.0 This application is phenomenal. I have used a system designed by Bose for controlling music wirelessly at home before, but even Bose cannot compare to this. Never again will I have the hassle of being limited by the position of my fixed computer with a fixed screen. This application allows you to view all the song information you need wirelessly on the iphone screen (or itouch) so long as you are in range of the wifi and your battery stays alive. Other reviews I have read in this forum say they'd be happy to spend a tenner. I'd be happy to spend much much more. I will never have reason to regret buying an iphone!
Works very well with XP and iTunes • Updated By: Recycled Electron - Sep 23, 2009 Version: 1.3.1 With Bonjour installed on your XP computer this Apple remote works flawlessly. Make sure your network and software are all working well before you install (and Bonjour is working). It's so nice to change albums on your stereo from the couch.
---
To play Internet radio stations just add your favorites (or all of them if you haven't found faves yet) to a playlist and then the remote can see them. Easy as that!

Wish there was a way to go through a list of your equalizer settings.
Amazing app By: Huggybear357 - Nov 25, 2008 Version: 1.1.1 If u have iTunes, u need this app. It works better than my computer's mouse for controlling my PC. I've had my iPhone since 7/12 and just downloaded this app because I thought I needed a Mac. It works great on my crappy old Dell PC. you're wasting your life if you don't download this app
Note: If u have 50gigs of music like me I would avoid the search by all songs feature. Not worth the headache.
