Fantastic App! You can do so much with this, a lot of thought has gone into making Squiggles. The clone feature works great, smoothing feature is a God send, set finger offset is also a God send. The list goes on and on! If I could give this app more than 5 stars I would, peeps you really need this app in your lives! Awesome!!!

Squiggles is a paint and image program specifically designed for the iPhone. Whether you need to make a sketch to get your ideas down, have fun with your photos, flex your artistic side or just plain doodle while waiting in line, Squiggles is ready. Paint on provided backgrounds, any photos on your iPhone or take photos in Squiggles and add notations or enhancements.

Squiggles comes with hard, soft and specialty brushes.
Undo. Erase on Shake.
Adjust opacity for painting tints. 6 painting modes.
-Full spectrum of colors to chose from. 12 user defined quick colors.
-Cursor combined with finger offset allows precise painting.
-Paint smoothing – Smooths your paint strokes automatically
Also includes Smart Tools to make your hand drawn lines straight and your circles smooth.
-Erase tool restores to original background.
-Clone tool for copying one area of the image to another.
-Stamps – Selection of provided color brush images that can be used for painting enhancements. (Pixie dust, butterflies, etc)
-Overlays – Selection of provided images that can be layered on top of your photos and paint. These can be moved, resized and rotated. (Hats, glasses, shapes, beards, etc)
-Text – Short phrases that can be typed in with different fonts. These can be moved, scaled and rotated interactively.
-Filters: Interactively adjust brightness and contrast.

A couple of people had trouble installing or updating Squiggles. Just delete Squiggles and re-download (if necessary, it's free) and re-install.

I have been using this application for 3 weeks and I absolute adore it. I have photoshop on my computer and never use it. I love fixing up pictures of my granddaughters and my standard poodle, Everyone that receives them loves them. I only wish it could be downloaded and used on my macbook pro for my library of literally 100's of pictures rather than uploading a few to i-phone, them playing with the program, and downloading to the computer.

I see Mr Squires is up to his usual high standards for software! Squiggles is not only a great bit of silly fun but very useful for quick sketches and drawings as well! I use it for sketching over the top of location photos to show the position of set elements and also vfx set extensions. I would love to see the overlays expanded in to include useful technical drawing elements - particularly straight and curved lines.

Outshines "Paint" for iPhone

I own this program, Brushes, & Paint for the iPhone. Brushes is different enough to not compare (it's an excellent program on its own).
But this program (squiggles) IS similar enough to Paint to compare the two & this program beats Paint hands-down!
Squiggles is much smoother operating, with a better UI. It also has MORE options and is overall a more powerful & cleaner operating program.
Squiggles also has online instructions, something totally absent from the "Paint" (formerly called iPaint) website.
Squiggles is fun to play with, yet also posesses enough muscle & variety to create serious on-the-fly art from scratch as well as from iphone photos. It's a pleasure to use, where the program "Paint," in comparison, is more an excercise in frustration.
Get Squiggles & get creating!

Well thought out... I can draw, futz w/photos, filter, clone, do cartoon captions, add text. The offset finger cursor is really clever and handy. Love all the tool options such as opacity and paint smoothing. Nice that layers stay editable. Be sure and go to the website, lots of info and things you can do that aren't obvious at first. Works in silly or serious mode! Feels like the developer actually uses the app.

5 Stars When you Can Zoom

I've had this app on my iphone since it first came out. It touches on just about every type of photo manipulation. There is a wide assortment of paintbrushes, layers, color, and effects plus textboxes, stamps and artwork to decorate your image. It even does cloning and features a clever user configurable offset cursor so you can see what you are doing. The one glaring flaw is that you can not zoom. So even though you have the tools to do detailed photo manipulations, you don't have the ability to get in close enough to have the control to actually do the work. This application has the potential to be a full fledged painting app and photoshop in a pocket type application, however, because it lacks zooming I use it mostly to decorate images.
Fine little app that does what it says it will!

This is the first app I bought and I like it! The other reviewers seem to be expecting Photoshop for iPhone. Squiggles works like a charm and does what it's designed for: Taking a snapshot, adding some fast fun stuff and mailing it out to friends. It's not bad for taking photos from your library and doing fast notes or mark-ups for business. It you need more firepower than that, carry a MacBook. Hoping for more functionality in later updates.
