Reviews:
Bank of America is just getting started...!!!!;) By: GRamirez - Oct 5, 2009 Version: 2.0 Now I've had the bank of America in July. I had to admit, this app was so crummy before. All you could do was check accounts and transfer. The app was so plain and boring that, I figured that the website is better. However, now they've upgraded the app and made it look just like the web account like you've always checked before! Now, with this new upgrade you have a lot more options than before. I like it, and the new upgrade earned an extra star from me! If you have a bank account in bank of America, download this app. Plus, it's free! So if by any chance you don't like it, you delete it. No harm done.:)
Could be so much more.... By: mivey - Jan 14, 2009 Version: 2.0 Edit: I'm increasing my rating because BofA has finally upgraded their app. Much better, but I'd still like to be able to see my credit card transactions. And the screens don't quite "fit." Words in the headers are cut off, etc. But that is merely cosmetic.Yes, the function is there. It does what it needs to do, but BofA passed on the opportunity to take advantage of the iPhone's interface. This looks just like the web mobile app that BofA has for every other phone that requires you to press buttons or scroll wheel to move from text link to text link. So, you're left trying to insure that your finger touches the right text link among those that are too close together to get to what you need to do. I have an account at Chase and also have their mobile banking app. Even though I think it has issues, too, it is lightyears ahead of what BofA offers here.
The big update to 2.0 did it! By: the ziggyonice - Jan 14, 2009 Version: 2.0 When Bank of America's "Mobile Banking" application first came out, it wasn't much of an application at all. Essentially, the app served as a bookmark to their poorly designed website. It was a disaster. But now that the update to version 2.0 has come out -- wow, what a difference! The new interface is organized and streamlined, specifically designed as an iPhone application. Access to my accounts and balence is simple and looks great. In addition, the "ATM Finder" is still built-in, and works wonderfully. There's a little bit of slow down between the transistions of each pane, from "username" to "password" for example, the transistion looks a little studdered. But this small item is easily overlooked with such a great redesign as this! The design team who put this together probably put a lot of time into making this application a success, and as soon as everyone gets this version, I think they'll see that this app has finally become what it was meant to be. Now if only we can get everyone to update their reviews... :)
A lifesaver By: Bubbaganoosh - Sep 16, 2009 Version: 2.0 I can't recall how many times I've used this app when needing to transfer funds or check my balance while away from home. (restaraunts/stores/airports/etc).
It can be slow at inconveniant times (cashier waiting with ppl in line) but it's understanable as to why, can't expect an app that constantly relies on thousands of peoples real time numbers to be too fast.
As a side note to those whiners out there, try not to be so jaded, just think; your parents had to actually enter a bank with it's odd hours and long lines just make the actions that this allows while we sit on the toilet in some coffee shop on a Sunday.
Complainers By: Associate - Mar 2, 2009 Version: 2.0 This program is awsome. This is for the person on the go, just to check balnces really quick and pending and posted transactions. As for the people who complain BofA offers so many different ways to access your account such as mobile banking, automated service, online banking, calling cust serv them selves, banking centers, 1000's of ATM's to access, but the best way to keep track of your accounts is to obtain FREE check registers that the bank provides and do the work your damn self. It's your money so take some damn initiative and take care of your money. Again this app is awesome.
Easier than before! By: georgie B - Jan 10, 2009 Version: 1.0 The latest version (Jan 2009) of this app, and the site, look and work incredibly on the iPhone! It is responsive and quick, and I now have buttons instead of tiny text to click on. It gives me a better view of my account activity and connects them all together better than ever (including my BofA credit card).
It is beautiful and I'd highly recommend it for any BofA customer with a compatible device!
Useful but too many steps By: Cashsimpson - Jan 10, 2009 Version: 1.0 It worked fine til today and it busted stopped working. I hit 'Mobile Banking' and the next screen would be blank. But besides that there's too many steps. Just go to login name and sitekey....done. The Enter button is useless and Mobile Banking too..OF COURSE I'M MOBILE BANKING!
Update: Apparently ALL if BofA's site isn't working.
New update: Dropped the star level because I'm SICK OF IT NOT DETECTING MY DEVICE!!!!!
Stop whining By: Fireballfl - Sep 26, 2009 Version: 2.0 Come on people. This is meant to be a very simple app. 3 years ago, no bank would have allowed you to view any of your accounts from your phone. Updates will occur when boa can do them. This performs the very basic features of reviewing your account, making transfers, knowing what has cleared, and knowing what is pending. That is all I need. If I need more advanced features, I will log onto my computer and get what I need from there. This app is perfect for the average customer.
Good App By: Obama_Is_The_New_Stalin - Feb 22, 2009 Version: 2.0 Ok, here's my take on this app. It's good, and WILL get better in time. There have already been several improvements. I actually work for Bank of America, have accounts at the bank and can tell you that I've not had a problem with the functionality of the app. I especially liked the ATM locator and the feature that let's you look for banking centers with Saturday hours.
A NOTE FOR ID AND WA USERS:
This is why the app doesn't work on your accounts. They are on a completely different banking system with the rest of the country. California is on another system as well, but the bank upgraded the CA systems to work with the rest of the country a few years ago. That's why if you have accounts say in CA and FL you can transfer funds online between them but not from either of those states to ID or WA. Here's the work around, call the bank and have them open an account domiciled in a "model banking" state (ie: FL, NY, GA, etc). You'll be able to use this app then.
Pardon the nerd moment but I had to get everyone up to speed.
Enjoy the app!
B.O.A. App is awesome... By: Dero's Hero's - Feb 21, 2009 Version: 2.0 I don't care what others say about this app. It has been so helpful to me in my everyday life. It's so useful I can check my account anywhere anytime. I have seriously been waiting in line, at a retail store transfering funds just to pay for my purchase. It's easily avoids an overdraft charge which at my bank is 35 dollars. At a time like in our current economy, this it's too covienient not to have this free app on my Iphone.

•• Bank of Ownage •• By: fireb0x - Jul 16, 2008 Version: 1.0 I used to have a web clip on my home screen for the website.
It is good to see that my bank is at the very least getting it's foot in the water for it's customers. Hopefully they willvexpand this app but frankly, it is great as if is and gets the job donevquickly and efficiently.
To the people who are 1 starting this:
Ifvyou don't like it, gobsnk with a different bank that offers a banking app in the appstore... Ah, right there aren't any others. Bank of America for the epic win!

I love it! By: Tiffany823 - Dec 12, 2008 Version: 1.0 Okay folks I am not sure what folks expect but it is a free app. Personally I like not having to go through Safari to log into B of A. Like some say, it is the same as if you did however, the difference is it has a larger font and saves time. I guess some folks will complian about anything though.... If you want simplicity with regards to logging in, this is the easiest it will get and I highly recommend it. Thanks B of A!

Great easy app. Not sure why so many are displeased.... By: G P - Jul 14, 2008 Version: 1.0 This app is designed to give you a quick look at ur accounts, nothing more and it delivers. I was at the 7 store and it looked as if they debited me twice. I pulled up my account and they did charge me twice. I showed the sales person and he credited me back 190.00 dollars. Great app, my only critique is that I was unable to access my BofA Credit Card info but it does give the balance not detailed purchases and charges, but fully able to access checking and savings.

woohoo!!! By: sikamil - Aug 22, 2009 Version: 2.0 yay! now i can check my balance on my phone instead of having to go to my computer. and for those ppl complaining abt having BofA not recognizing their device, they'll ask that question all the time whenever it's ur first time signing in to view ur acct in a new computer (or new device like our iphones/ipod touches). so for security purposes, u hav to answer the security question u had set up earlier. then, turn on save this device. this is all probably new to u if you've only used the same computer to sign in. well either that ir you've never even set up an online acct with BofA before =P
