First off it's an awesome app! The shake to udate is pretty sweet and so is the overall interface! A few things I would like to see... Account balance on dashboard screen Easier way to view option contracts for a stock...the website makes it very easy to do this however it is quite a pain on here. You have to search for the INDIVIDUAL contracts and then start all over to look at another. I would like to view multiple contracts for the same stock with just a tap or two. So far though for a version 1.0 I am very impressed!

Finally! Thankyou Etrade! The iPhone deserves this application. If you have an Etrade account and an iPhone....you need this app. It is so much better on the iPhone than the Blackberry. You can actually see individual transactions for each account including your checking and savings accounts. On my BlackBerry, you cannot see this. Real time trades, total control of your finances, market research...its all in there. This is trully the day I have been waiting for since I switched to the iPhone.

I too Beta tested this, and it has quickly become one of my most used Apps. It's easy to keep up with your portfolio anywhere, trades are easily executed, and real time quotes work better on here than on my Mac. I guess you could complain about it being difficult to do research, but I've found it no more difficult than doing anything web-heavy on the iPhone. Overall a great app right out of the box. I hope they continue to improve it to make it even better.

I found a fix for all the crashing... follow closely:
1) Press your home button and launch the iPhone settings.
2) Turn on Airplane Mode. This is just temporary and will help keep the app from crashing.
3) Launch the Etrade App. It is the "Dashboard" that is causing the crash so you need to select the "I" in the lower right hand screen and scroll down the list and turn off "Markets Overview" and "Quote Details". This is the culprit. These are the ENEMY!
4) Now close the app by pressing the home button and go turn off airplane mode.
5) Presto! The app works!

I rarely have the time to write reviews but this is a great iphone application. Excellent user interface and experience! The pop-down scrolling menu is great. Easy to use and very functional. Streaming works great once you logon. The app crashed once but I am hoping subsequent updates will fix this issue. Keep up the good work. I went online to rename the account nick names to shorter easier to read length.
It is faster to use this application than the online web app at Etrade.com as is clunky, difficult to navigate and showing age.

For someone who is on the road, look no further than Mobile Pro for your stock and option trading while not at your desk. This app gives me all the same conviniences of a desktop app right on my iPhone, with streaming quotes, charts, news and other market data. The trading interface is also slick, and it even allows me to move money around different accounts easily with the transfers screen. Great app!

Easily the most well thought out and conceived application I have seen for the iPhone. (and I have seen a lot!). No stock interface widgets here, everything was custom developed and looks unlike any other iPhone app you are likely to have seen. Real time streaming, graphs and news all in one cockpit, I actually prefer it to the website, which is not something I can say for any other app. 5 stars!

E*trade software is excellent and this mobile app is no exception - even without an E*trade account. You can easily track your watchlist and view market data, commentary, and news from the customizable main screen (dashboard). From there, you can go deeper and get quotes which include all the relevant market data as well as related news for a particular company.
Account holders also get real-time quotes which they can toggle between streaming or not, details about their accounts, portfolios, trade orders, transactions, and more.

Etrade has set the standard in brokerage apps, all other brokerage should take note and strive for this type of ease of use and information on the same page along with trading & streaming quotes. This app is the bomb. This is the best stock traders app on the iphone bar none. I have tried and buyed just about every market app out there and this is the best - upto the second info, streaming, etc... - I have a couple of trading accounts one of them being etrade and i use this app when i'm away from my computer to trade. If u trade this is a must have app. Simply the best, Scottrade you need to take note the new Scottrade mobile service is ok but not in the same league as Etrade.

Awesome. Exceeded my expectations. Info/screens laid out nicely.
There are some less than responsive clicks in the UI... clicking the "Dashboard" back button sometimes does nothing (get on it developers :>).
I am updating my rating to 5 stars because everything I need is there, I can do all the trading I need to and it is *soooo* much easier to view realtime quotes in Mobile Pro than the website!

I've been waiting for this app for quite a while. Impressive feature list for a version 1.0 and surprisingly stable. The most important E*Trade features are there, including the ability to get quotes streamed realtime, make trades, view alerts, transfer funds, and read news feeds. The interface is well-designed and easy to navigate. In fact, I believe the mobile version of E*Trade is easier and faster to use than the website via computer.
The only negative I give it is that it does not appear to allow viewing international markets, but this is a minor detail that does not warrant a star penalty.
Good showing, E*Trade.

E*Trade does not joke around when it comes to this app. Whether the app writers are motivated by the iPhones abilities or they were vying for the coveted design awards, style and functionality are obviously a focus.
If you've ever used the actual web interface at etrade.com, you'll know what to expect ( why else would you want this app ). But don't think of some watered down front end that you'll see with other vendors. You can do pretty much anything you would want to do on the go with your account. The program takes up the entire screen and is pretty customizable too.
Anyway, if you have E*Trade, just get this app and try it out. You won't be disappointed.

Alright!! I've been waiting for this application since I first picked up my iphone.
The real time quotes are outstanding! Gives you every bit of information that you need in a snapshot view of your E*Trade holdings. Well organized, highly detailed. Love the fact that I can transfer my cash from outside banks, internally to existing brokrage accounts, and make stock purchases through my mobile application. I understand why they waited now because they got it right upon launch. I haven't run into any bugs as of yet but I am truly greatful that E*Trade got this application out there! Can't say enough about it to start, I'm very impressed.

Best mobile financial application in the market

I have three other iPhone banking applications and this one is so head-and-shoulders above the rest, they should all be embarassed. I actually prefer this to the web site as it's very quick and all the major information is somewhere in this application. The only reason I don't give it five stars is that, if anything, it's a bit too comprehensive with various hidden menus and features that aren't intuitively obvious (like different options being presented depending on whether you're in portrait or landscape mode. The new alerts are a great feature addition, especially if you're tracking stock limits. This app alone would be reason enough to do business with ETrade compared to the poorly designed web sites, non-existent iPhone applications, and dealing with phone purgatory of other major brokers.

Etrade's first crack at the mobile app is pretty darn good. It's a slick interface and the program doesn't seem to have any bugs.
Problems: no back button, so if you zoom in on a chart (a great feature) you have to go to the main menu, reload your account portfolio and select a new stock. Also, I'm not thirlled that ETRADE bank features aren't accessible, as I have a bank and checking account in addition. Still, it's a nice app to have and it beats the pants off the release that my other national bank put out.

If you are an etradre user, it's a no brainer. If you're not, you will wish you were. It's essentially a streamlined, almost better, version of the full site. Whatever it lacks in full-functionality, is more than made up for by the fact that it's in. your. pocket. It's also an excellent example of an an online app that is built as an app, and not a web-app. What it needs: some sort of quick log-in layer that keeps the app password protected, but not by my annoying etrade user name and pswd each time (other apps like 1 password or the iPhone itself has this type of thing). This would allow me to erase bloomberg and the stock app and whip out etrade instead to check on portfolio prices throughout the day. As it is, I'm not sure it's convenient enough to do that (and isn't that part of the point?).

This is an excelent app. This is why i cant move without it. Although i have try, buy almost all apps, this is the most accurate. The fact that you can see ext. Hours prices, alets, pushes, watch list among others are key factors. Why i dont give a 5 star? It would be perfect if you can be logged for more time. It is annoying to have to log so many times... But we have to ponder security vs 30 secs to log. But in my opinion this should be an option to the user. I think it needs some Minor! Details, but even if it cost, is worth it. And YES, it IS reliable.. I have made huge transactions on the spot. Something i NEED is an option that Live Portfolio (good also) is to have a unrealized gain $ and% on the same list/column. Conclusion: among all there out there, this is the most accurate and reliable. And P.S. People if you are a trader i dont think the money to pay for a good app to deal your money should not be an issue. I have spent a lot trying crappy ones. This is free and my keeper!

Myself, and countless others, have been waiting a long time for this app. I must say it's pretty good, however I am having a hard time adding global (other than U.S) equities to my watch list. Please add this feature asap as I am a global trader and I NEED it desperately. Otherwise thank you ETRADE!!One of the major problems is the application's speed, or lack there of. Must be faster, as it is often faster to access the website over the Internet. Otherwise exceptional.
