The NatWest iPhone App provides a fast and easy way to keep up to date with your finances, even when you’re out and about. The application is free and takes just a few minutes to download to your iPhone.
Registration for NatWest mobile phone banking is simple and handled completely through the App. Once you’ve created a secure password for logging on, you’ll have access to a wide range of features including:
• Monitor your current account with up-to-the-minute balance checks
• View a mini-statement with your last six transactions anytime, anywhere
• Set up and manage text alert services including:
- Balance updates – get your account balance sent to your iPhone once a week, on a day and time that suits you
- Limit alerts – receive texts when your account hits upper and lower limits that you control. Use them to know when you’ve been paid or are about to go overdrawn
• Top up your pay as you go mobile phone and up to four others (service not available on 3 network).
Thousands of customers already use mobile phone banking to check their bank account directly from their mobile handset. Through this password-protected App you can access current account information for any account you have a NatWest debit card for.
Once registered your personal details will be verified overnight, and we’ll send you a text message as soon as the App is ready to use.

I don't know why people are complaining if you have an iPhone or an iPod touch you can easierly check your account on online account with natwest and do all transfer stuff with wifi...this app is very good it just shows you very quickly what money you have in your account and a mini statement great so can never go over your limit and you can keep a check on your spending...personally I don't want an app to be able to do what can do my online account incase my phone is stolen...but all in all this is just a nice neat FREE app that does what it says

Prior to installing the app I read the reviews. Generally most people were of the opinion that it's crap. Seeing as it's free, and I bank with natwest, I thought what have I got to lose (besides the time downloading it)? The app worked great first time off. Natwest have this strange system- they don't seem to do anything for you interactively out of hours. I downloaded the app on a Saturday and first thing Monday morn it was activated. It seems to work!! Let's see what the update, if any, will have in store.

When I tried this out for the first time I was a little sceptical…entering in your phone number and this code was a little odd but not too difficult…
TIP: Set preview SMS enabled, and you will probably see this activation code without having to exit the application.
So got it working quick…and I can now check my balance, mini statement and even top up my phone! It’s a lot faster than me logging into to internet banking site.
So it’s free and faster than internet banking. Well done Natwest.

I downloaded the app on the first day so I have suffered the initial teething problems. I now find the app works every time without the problems that used to plague the regular mobile version. Yes, I would like to transfer money between accounts like the Lloyds TSB version, however, I presume they have to satisfied regarding security first. Well done Natwest for being the first to have a working iPhone app, arrived on the same day as my iPhone!

That is amazing I had using this app! It been activated for 14 hours after registered without press HOME or POWER which could happened.I looked at my bank statement! Wow! I can see it from my iPhone better than bank machines except withdraw money. Plus topup for the mobile is very good as same of the bank machine's topup option.Before start the app, please make sure your iPhone need restart to make fresh memory first.

At last, a bank has released an application. People were too quick to judge, it's a good application that hopefully will be developed with the feedback from here.Once you have registered, checking your balance etc is very fast on any connection! Was surpised to see the application supports other banks, nice feature.Would like to see the option of transfering between your accounts registered with the application. If the application could do most of what the natwest online application can do I would be very happy!

This App works great but keep in mind all it dies is give you balance, mini statement and you can top up a phone (which requires validation). It could be better yes, but you are reviewing the App you downloaded not what it could be. It does what it says on the tin. As for people worrying about banking credentials, you're using an existing mobile setup instigated by your bank, you're not giving anything away. Nor can people around you gather anything about your banking details. It's ok, it's not black magic.

Brilliant, I have been waiting for this for a while. 5 stars because it is a great app but given in anticipation of the timeWhen I can use it and it is fully functioning. To all the people who are complaining with the time taken to authorise it's sheer impatience and bear in mind that loads of people will have been waiting for this app so a delay in clearing all the authorisations is understandable.

No problems setting up at all. Does what I was promised well. I did hope it would do more. I was hoping it would do all the stuff I do online like pay people or transfer monies. If the next version could be like the online interface and we could achieve doing stuff anx not just looking at stuff then I would be impressed. If you are happy to just look then u will be happy. If u were hoping to do more then u won't be

Big improvement in the last day or so, was intolerable before, but now most of the time its very quick, very little delay.Definately improvements to be made, some UI tweeks, and definately more functionality like transfers. But looks like Natwest/Monitise have listened to the reviews here.This isn't a 1.5 star app anymore, hopefully they'll keep working to improve the service continually over the next days/weeks/months.For me Text Services is the best functionality, got my weekly SMS at 9am exactly.In general pretty pleased with this app, finding it quite useful.UPDATE: little tip, text BAL or MINI to 82628 and you get your balance or mini-statement text back to you.

This app is now much smoother. I take back all I said before. It now works without delay. It gets a high score because it's free. Good. However it is still a little cluncky from a cosmetic point if view and this makes it slightly unfriendly. I'm sure this will be rectified in an update. All in all it looks as though the developers have been reading the feedback on the app store and credit to them for braving the rain of criticism perseveringly.I look forward to future updates...

Don't understand why some people have criticised this app. Of course it's not a substitute for full online banking, but it takes the hassle out of logging in and provides you with the essential info from your account. And i'm glad I can't transfer money, it makes it less of a security hazard.Could be improved by:- Making interface more polished and iPhone-typical. e.g. Top left button to go back a page, not to beginning of app. - On mini-statement, including balance after transaction, next to each listed transaction. Otherwise, really convenient app - I no longer need to head to an ATM or spend 10 minutes logging in to check my balance or statement! Helpful banking indeed!

Right, let's get something STRAIGHT. This app DOES work :-)To anyone who says it doesn't.. try SIGNING UP outside the signal range of your WIFI connection! That's right. Go OUTSIDE if you have to. I tried signing up through my WIFI connection and it'd only ever let me get so far, then I'd get an error.Trust me when I say; sign-up is a cinch! Just use your mobile's own carrier to accomplish this ;-)As to the app, yeah.. it can only VIEW your balances right now but I'm sure, given some more time, a fuller functionality may be given by the makers. 4 out of 5 stars until these updates are upon us. We are all WAITING for it...!Skootch

My previous review was only 1 star but since their initial teething troubles the service has improved greatly. Logging in is now much quicker, so viewing balance and mini statements is not ridiculously time consuming. Would be fantastic (and 5 stars) if they added the ability to make transfers, pay bills plus push notifications for various services. Let’s hope they keep updates coming and don't just sit and make do with this version. A promising start though!

Installed this app after Reading everyones very negative reviews and I have to say on the speed front the problems seem to have gone overnight and it's now pretty nippy and smooth. You will never get an authorisation txt it seems but it will just start working the next day, you can't do a lot but it's handy! Plus there's support for other banks as well I added my first direct account so everythings all in 1 place!!

This is an awesome app. Does exactly what I need. Managed to add both my personal account as well as my business account at the same time which is a massive bonus.The setting that sends you a text when your balance reaches a set level is seriously handy too, has helped me swerve the inexusable £38 fine for unarranged borrowing on 2 occasions already.Why only 4 stars? .... it missed out on 5 just like their icon designer missed out on centering the Natwest logo on the icon itself. Makes a ruin of my oh so orderly iPhone homepage as a result! Pah!!!

Ok, Im giving this 4 stars now as, although this application has been absolutely terrible for the entire week with performance etc, they seem to have gotten their act together and it's flying now. Does what it says on the tin but is very very basic. Would like to see much more functionality added to make this more useful. Basically natwest, whatever I do online, I would like to be doing on here now please. I shall be holding my breath for the next update......

It's free for gods sake! It's certainly not slow, much safer than using an ATM to check your balance! I just wish that the mini statement interface was more user friendly and had more info! Apart from that I love it! Thank you natwest
