Update for V2 - congrats developers this is update is simply fantastic. Pence issue fixed and so feature rich I now use this as my principle investment monitoring tool. Keep up the excellent work.......................Seriously good. Have tried a few stock update apps but the features this app provides put it streets ahead. There is a "pence issue" but get round this by reducing size of holding by 100 - eg 100 shares becomes 1. Emailed developer on this and got a response within 30 mind saying this is fixed in v2 which is due in a week or two.Would seriously recommend this app - you won't be dissapointed

Much faster to update that the included iPhone stock app. The simplicity of adding lots of purchased stocks is impressive and usable. Value of all your holdings is visible at a glance. Well thought out. One question I had was answered within a few hours so excellent support. Great app. Wish list would be stock graphs and slightly bigger buttons or roller selectors for my fat thumbs on the toggling columns.

The 2.0 update solved all the problems that made this less than idea for UK stocks. Pound/pence issue is now fixed and you can explicitly choose Yahoo UK as a data source so I can finally add those scottish widow funds. On top of that charts, news and currencies are all in there. Its gonna take a while to soak it all in but I am amazed!!!!
EDIT: 2.1 also now fixes the slight problem with setting the pricing times.

Not only does PorfolioLive keep track of my portfolios in real time, but it is easy to add and delete positions (important for day traders). The newest version has added %Gain/Loss in addition to $Gain/Loss, which is helpful to see at a glance if you're approaching a buy (or sell) point. This was actually a feature I requested. And within a few days, it was posted to the latest update. Now THAT'S impressive. Thanks guys. Add realtime candle charts with volume next!

This is exactly what I needed for my iPhone.. This application keeps full track of my share portfolio anywhere i am. It allows you to see how each indiviual investment, even different lots of shares for the same stock bought at different times, and also gives you an overall view of your investment.
Love the interface and its very easy to use too.
For those who think it doesn't do enough...I bought this application not only for what it can do right now, but also for what the developers are planning on adding to it. Charting, currency conversion, etc.. coming soon. Check out their website for full details..
If you own a shares portfolio and an iPhone, you have to have this app!

I had some migration problems from the previous version to version 2. I shot of an email and received a very quick response. Customer support is, I have to say, second to none. I have made some suggestions to the developers and they are very receptive.
My suggestions to make this brilliant app even better are:
1. Have the Clear and Create buttons appear at the bottom of the trade screen (I often forget to press the Create button after entering all the details because the button is out of view). Their response was that they would see what others say or that as a compromise, they would make it a preference setting. Please write to them and tell them your preferences.
2. At the moment, once a trade is created, you cannot edit it. For example, if you enter the incorrect price per share, you must go to the history window, delete the trade and start again. The response was that this can be very messy if dealing with a trade that was partially liquidated. I agree, but perhaps these can be locked so they can't be edited, but still allowing other trades to be edited.
3. I can't get live data for the US market because the start/end time can't be set to 23:30/06:30 local time. A fix is on the way.
4. I would be willing to pay for a subscription service to have live data for the Australian market. Sadly, not enough sales here to justify this, but still a possibility in the future. So buy this app people!
5. I also suggested the ability to print some reports from the app. This is under consideration.
I am extremely happy that I purchased this app. It is a very polished piece of work and I look forward to the updates. If my suggestions were implemented, it would make this app PERFECT! Please write to the developers and let them know how to improve this app.

This app works as advertised. Some may not realize that many stock charting and portfolio apps don't show data "realtime", but rather with a 20 second delay. This is one of a few that actually has realtime data and allows user to select update frequency. It's also very intuitive and user friendly.

One thing I would REALLY like to see with this app, is someplace to put notes! I'm always needing to write something about a stock I'm watching and it's a hassle having to close the app to do it in the iPhone notes app. So developers... how about it? I already gave you five stars, if you do this I'll be sure to spread the word even more than I already have about this great app.

This app is awesome!! I have purchased two other popular apps in here & have found this one to be the best (doesn't crash & is more detailed than the other two!!).I am an Australian stock market investor trading on the ASX and found no problem obtaining data (just suffix your stock symbols with ".ax").One thing I really loved about this app was the ability to write notes on each stock!! This is so helpful when you're out and about and are getting an update on price and need to know whether it has hit your stop/targets!!!Improvements I would love to see in the future would be:@ plotting portfolio value on a chart@ stats on portfolio performance over last 7 days, 30 days, YTD, financial year (in Australia the last day of the FY is 30/06/09 and it would be good to have this stat to prepare you for tax!!)Apart from that I'm very happy with my purchase and look forward to using this app more & more with my trading!!Thanks guys!!!

This is a great application for watching your portfolio. I just found that I could load my mutual funds as well so I get my full portfolio besides just my stocks. Gives you price changes based on the frequency you want. It calculates your gain for the day as well as to date information.
A good enhancment would to be adding a percentage calculation for the to date gains and loss so that if you are trading based on percentage gain, you would not need a seperate calculator.

Last fix was excellent. I use it every day for live portfolio pricing when away from my computer. Have Canadian stocks and would not load before this last fix. Now I can put all my US and CDN stocks in 1 portfolio.Good job. Now can u do options? In fact, this application is so perfectly designed for how I trade, I find myself using the phone application in conjunction with my broker provided tools for market analysis. It's not just for reference. Get virtually real-time portfolio worth with daily gains in each stock. Allows for multiple lots, prices and quantities. Thank you for actually caring what you customers think about your app and trying to improve it.I use this app many times a day, and in all respects it is reliable and accurate. It is east to use and elegantly designed.A few things I would add to a wishlist:When I look at a portfolio, I would like to be able to rotate my phone to landscape mode to view more information regarding the positions in the portfolio.Please work in adding alerts to the app when apples new push technology comes through. I would love to get a message or alert from this program when a security hits a certain limit.I am interested in a way to seperate out and account for brokerage fees.

I've tried nearly every "stock tracker" iPhone app released. This is the best, & keeps getting better. Although it does not have the news feature of Bloomberg, that's not it's niche. However, it's portfolio tracking (with ability to follow multiple portfolios) is better than Bloomberg. I wish the developers of this terrific app would charge MORE for it. The more money they make, the better this already great app will become. Thank you guys! I use this every hour of the day.

This has to be the very best portfolio App in iTunes. There is just a very minor setback which is the calculation of the appreciation from selling a "LONG" position. It basically falters in calculating the difference between cost basis and selling price. And attributing such difference in the cash account. The minor setback that it doesn't have is currently being addressed by the developers.

I used to use PortfolioRT but dam thing had tiny font and crashed all the time. No updates EVER! This little gem is awsome. Doesn't crash, easy to use and read, so many useful features. Sure some things are missing but what do you guys expect, sheesh, this is a great mobile app to keep track of your stocks on the go. I love it! If you love the markets, you'll love this app, just get it, cheaper than lunch!

This program is great, I now use it daily. The great part about it is that if you buy a stock at multiple price points you put it in as the transactions were made. Whenever you buy or sell it automatically calculates your average cost per share. It also has a great pop-up window in the program that tells you how much your total unrealized gains/losses are as well as how much you made or lost in a single day.
Overall, great app and I hear they are planning on a ton of new features. Highly recommended.

I just downloaded this program the night before and loaded in about 40 symbols and started using the program today. This program is head and shoulders above the previous real time program I was using on my Iphone and thar program cost almost twice as much as this program. It's hard to believe that for less than it's costs me to eat one lunch at a MacDonalds that I have such a robust program to manage and watch my positions on a daily basis. Thanks for your hard work.
