Simple but effective

Simple application that I've used since it was released. Has developed nicely into something much more useable for everyone. I love the ability to export in qif format etc makig this perfect for keeping track of expenses on the go and then backing up to computer. Only downside is that categories don't seem to export properly and are ignored in the moneydance import on mac. Can this be looked into please?

After purchasing "spend" and "ixpenseit" for AU$5.99 I was dissapoibted they really only handled expense transactions and no way to monitor account balances. I rarely give 5 stars but because of the fact this is half the price of one of the apps I paid for hoping for these functions, it deserves it. The best thing is that the files you back up are standard accounting files and not some proprietary format locked to the software. Wifi backup is awesome however (to developer) could u please implement an "import" function so we can import the backed up file back into quickbank.As for the previous comment regarding US and Uk date, I live in Australia and have no issue with Uk date.One small bug is when using password mode, I used digits only and when trying to login the keyboard would not go away. Good thing I found this at onset so I had to reinstall. Overall amazing functionailty for all round app at this price

MoneyWell for desktop & QuickBank a perfect marriage!

Just set the account names exactly the same in both applications as well as the buckets/categories making sure the caps are exact and on QIF export from QuickBank it seems to import into MoneyWell just fine! Talk about a high end solution, now QuickBank just needs to add an import feature and from there I could have every transaction from my bank with an accurate representation of my finances, be able to do new transactions on the go and reconcile them at home on my desktop with MoneyWell looking at the banks statements. Looking forward to import feature QuickBank!
I use TD Bank, Waterhouse for my stocks, PC Financial, CIBC and PayPal and was able to get QuickBank ($2) to work with those Canadian Banks. Bought MoneyWell ($40) for a desktop and found that "QB" was the easiest to setup. I can download my data from Canadian bank into "MW" and on the go I can use "QB" for entering data. I just had to set the categories the same in "MW" and "QB" and then the data moves over without a glitch! I dont have to do a thing...it was like the two programs were made for each other.
So now I finally have a solution that isnt manual typing, mannually, yet allows me to enter things on the go and compare it against what my financial institution shows. For once I'm finally organized. Add the import feature QuickBank and you have a powerful solution.

Updates were nice now password protection and reports on spending. Good job . Hope this app remains.Greatt app, has many accounts & catagoy options. Can use off line. I don't sink to Quicken however so not sure how that works. I do have a few recommenations.1. Password protect2. Like to alphabetize my account & catagory names.3. Like to see the green font become darker and easier to read.4. Hope future updates won't delete my account or catagory entries.Thanks again for such a great app.

Great app! Does what is expected and does it well at a great price. Just a basic checkbook register to keep track of account balances. No bloat and crazy features that most people won't ever use. Another plus is that it is updated regularly. I haven't had any problems myself but the regular updates and bug fixes indicate positive support and reflects well on the developer. Highly recommended.

We'll see when I want to export to quickbooks if I still like this program. Personally, I don't give a rip who knows I spend a grand a month at kroger. I use my debit card so whoever might want to know that already does...so who cares about unencrypted? I divide my income each month into five categories: Necessities, Long Term Savings for Spending, Play, Financial Freedom, and Give. This app is PERFECT! for those who have figured out how powerful this method of budgeting is. I care not about having any more detail than this app gives. I deposit a certain amount into each category and then keep track of each category on my phone. I no longer have to store reciepts in a drawer and i no longer have to cary around envelopes of cash. I can also very quickly and easily track stuff like how much I spend on energy drinks or fast food each month. Excelent app. This app and easytask are the only reasons I no longer miss my blackberry.

This application has everything you need to keep track of your finances. I love the ease of entering transactions and the capability of adding catergories and check numbers. It is a real time saver and everyone knows how important saving time can be. There is only one modification I would like to see in the next update. That would be to apply different colors, not shades of the same color for each catergory in the pie chart. The shades of yellow that are shown now are very hard to distinguish from each other.

Can't find anything better!

I love the fact that I can use wifi export and I don't have to worry about e-mailing my financial data through someone else's server. One downside is the fact that my iPod Touch has to be connected to a wireless network for the report/charting to work. Just a few requests: Show both current & reconciled balances at the same time, ability to edit category names, and more detailed reports (date range, specific accounts). Add those, and QuickBank is easliy a 5-star app.

This app does a very good job of being easy to use, while also containing customizable features for people that need more than just the basics. Account data entry is quick and seamless, all transactions can be edited or deleted at any time, and being able to categorize your entrees and place them into a report or pie graph, is extremely helpful to track where your money is going. I have the latest version, so I don't know of any previous issues, but I can say that this app has worked flawlessly for me. To top it off, I sent the developer some suggestions for some minor future improvements, and I got a reply in less than 2 hours, and was told that my suggestions are already in the works for future updates! Great product and great customer support! This app is a must have!

Super Easy, still a work in progress

I've tried a bunch of different applications for keeping an account of my checking and savings account. This application is real easy, super simple, nothing too complex. I do want to see a few minor updates, like being able to move accounts up or down when editing them, and monthly reports rather than seeing them as a whole. Other than those two things, this app is highly recommended. Just to give you an idea, i've purchased Bear Money, Budget, and downloaded Balance and Mint.com, and have found this one to be the best fit for me. I don't need anything too complex, just something where i can enter in how much i spent, and keep an updated balance of money going in and out from the checking account without having to login to my bank online through safari.

This is my second review, after seeing all the updates that were made. This app is still great!! The added features are more than I expected. I also wanted to comment on the support system you're getting with this program. I emailed support when I had an issue, and I heard back from them in less than ten minutes. My problem is resolved, so that alone is worth every penny (all ninety-nine of them) that I paid. My rating is staying at four, though, until a balance for all accounts is added to the main screen. ****My Old Review is Below****As someone that spends a lot of time with various checkbooks, I feel that this is the perfect app for me. I can use it for credit card and bank accounts, and I love the ability to categorize my transactions. I take one star away because I bought quicken 2008 just so that I could sync it with quickbank, and I got a message saying that quicken doesn't import qifs! It made me sad, but I've never used quicken before anyway.

I wrote so much good about your app that itunes timed me out so I'll be shorter this attempt. QuickBank does exactly what it says it will do. Best 99cents I every spent. QuickBank replaced my checkbook, calculator and pen in hand. If you want to try to confuse the boss with your bar and grahy charts of your company given expenses then go buy another product that rivels HR Block and crashes your iphone and syncs up to slowen. If what QuickBanks says it will do , buy QuickBank. It is perfect. K.I.S.S. I would give QuickBank 10 stars if I could.
[P.S. Please let me know when the trick photo receipt upgrade is released].

Aug.22 edit. OK, I wrote this above review on version 1.0 All true. Then the the new improved version comes out and I have a little problem upgrading [I am geek challanged]. I wrote to QuickBank after trying to solve the problem myself and within minutes the owner writes me back and spends so much time helping me I almost gave up because I myself felt guilty taking up so much of his time. But he didn't want to give up and now the new version QuickBank works great.
Bottom line is that QuickBank is a great app, at a great price with perfect service and support.

Kudos to QuickBank for actually having a detailed and extensive user guide on their website, that clearly explains how the export works. I'm much more willing to spend money when I see the developer has put time into helping people use the app.
EDIT: I've been using this as an auxiliary to Quicken, solely to catch those cash transactions where I don't have a receipt to save and enter later. Worked great on a trip cross-country for tolls and such--entry is easy and quick (even while stopped at a red light), the export worked smoothly and took only a few minutes. Importing into MacQuicken 2005, I had no problems with the date field (but I did have to open the correct account in Quicken first to import the QIF, so not sure how exporting/importing multiple accounts would have worked, as I only had one account). I did not test out categories yet. This app has nicely filled in the single hole in my existing money-tracking system.
(This review is based on the 1.0 version, I'm pretty sure).

If you have been searching for a budget app that 1. Allows you to create multiple accnts 2. Allow to edit all trasactions Including initial deposit 3. Easy to understand debit vs. credit 4. Chart that shows where your money is going 5. And finally a way to protect everything with a password.. Guess what? This app delivers!! Plus if you need help your issues will be taken care of in minutes with their support!!!Thanks and well worth $1.99 . An app I would of paid $10.00 for!U dnt just want to buy a product, u also want the service that comes with it!! Oh... It also allows email!!! 5+ stars!!!

I love this program and it is cheap... It totally replaces my checkbook ledger and I keep track of all my credit card balances, savings accounts and checking. I contacted the developer and they got back to me immediatly and were great. They are getting ready to update this with multiple things including the balances on the first page and a way to mark items as purged or done, like balancing the checkbook. I can't say enough good things about this app. Good Job..

This app keeps getting better. I liked it before the latest update, now I love it and had to give it 5 stars. I've never been a person who uses a checkbook register, but this app makes it easy to start. I love the new export of QIF files over wifi so you can get backups all at once. If you haven't updated to this version yet, I suggest you do because the update cleared the memory. I also love that it shows the balance on the home screen now. Customizable categories and a clear, easy to use interface are what make it easy. There are little gripes, like the debit/credit choice blanking out if you don't fill in a name and amount at the same time, but once you are used to it, it's not a problem. The new version feels a BIT slow but I feel a reboot should fix that. Great work! Great Price!

November update raises the bar!

I had only two issues with the QuickBank and the November 08 update solved both. I can now transfer $ between accounts and the program maintains a list of frequent payees for autofill. Now I am a happy camper with no excuse not to track all my transactions.To the Reviewer with the App update problem- the publishers aren't managing your updates; your beef is with iTunes. If you don't see INSTALLED next to every app you own, iTunes has forgotten you and you'll need to pretend to re-purchase it to get iTunes to recall your purchase. You won't get double charged. This happens occasionally and it's not fair to knock the developer for an Apple problem. If you restore your iPhone, iTunes is likely to temporarily forget ALL your purchases, until you remind it. I have not restored since 2.1, but that was the story then.My original 4-star review follows......I'd appreciate the ability to set up some common payees so I don't need to enter them each time, and would also like to be able to set a budget for each category and see how I'm doing.I had a problem with transactions disappearing until I saw the fine print that says I need to enter it as a credit or debit, but there should be a default or the program should force a selection or cancel prior to exit, or the transaction gets lost.

Has Import to quicken and autofill

In my quest for a quicken replacement for iPhone I have tried nearly every check book application out there. This is the only one that has auto fill and that allows me to export to qif, which I then manually edit by adding 3 lines to the top of the qif. I wrote a little script to apply the edits but it would be nice if Quick Bank actually generated that for you. Quicken turned off support for qif but you can still do it. The trick is to add the following 3 lines to the top of the QIF file:!AccountNMy checking account TBank(use your quicken account name instead of "My checking account" above)A few small complaints - 1. You can't set up categories on the fly while entering a transaction. You have to exit the transaction, go to a different category admin screen add the category and then enter the transaction. It would be much cleaner orbit just let you create the categories right from the transaction screen2. It is a little clunky to enter a transaction - you have to first enter the payee and amount then switch to a detail screen to enter category, check #, notes etc. 3. I only use this for my primary checking account - it would be nice if it remembered my last account every time I start up, so that I don't have to always navigate back to that account on startup

I know it's silly, but a lot of my decision about whether or not to by an app is based on whether or not I like the icon. I bought this app awhile ago (when the icon was a pig), and now the icon is different and I don't like it :( Of course I still find the app very useful and I won't get rid of it, but I just wanted to put my two cents in, in case you were considering changing it back or to something else!

I have enjoyed using this app. It is a quick way to answer my husband when he asks how much money we have left. I can easily update our spending. However, when entering information from 12/31/08. the system would not change to 2008. All of my 12/31 transactions are listed as 12/31/09. Can this be fixed?
Other than this problem. This is a great app if you just want an electronic checkbook.
