Reviews:
Not for desktop Quicken By: stenyxx - May 11, 2009 Version: 1.0 Let's be clear here: If you are downloading this program for your desktop Quicken program, this is not MADE for you. You will be disappointed, because that's not what this app is for. It is for Quicken Online, and it does a spectacular job of integrating with it. It has almost all of the features you see on Quicken Online, and it's very polished. I've been wondering when they'll come out with this and I'm very pleased with the result.
Great program! By: Pianofreakman - May 9, 2009 Version: 1.0 This is a great program that allows me to have quick access to what I have set up online. There are two things I'd like to see: first, an ability to "refresh" my accounts so I can update my list of transactions without having to use the web. Second, the ability to change the payee on downloaded transactions. Otherwise, this is awesome! I've been looking for just this setup since the iPhone could have apps!
Finally!!! By: TxRx14 - May 4, 2009 Version: 1.0 I've been waiting for this app since October. It was worth the wait. Way better than Mint.com in both looks and functionality. A couple of feature requests, though:
1. The ability to change payee names for transactions I didn't create on my phone.
2. The ability to create/change repeating transactions.
I've noticed people giving low scores foe not being able to sync with desktop Quicken. My guess is that they named this app Quicken Online for just that reason. They will probably make a desktop syncing app soon, is my guess.
Wow! By: Terrman - May 2, 2009 Version: 1.0 This is everything Mint and SplashMoney isn't - editing on the mobile side and stabilty/reliabilty, respectively.
I was wondering when Intuit was going to do something with the iPhone and they did with spades. It's obvious that their vast experience with personal finance (Quicken) and accounting in general (QuickBooks) is showing.
This is flexlable, powerful app that anyone with an iPhone and money should have. Period.
All for free no less...
The Best By: vemulasri - May 2, 2009 Version: 1.0 Quicken has done the best initial version of the app i have seen so far. No Crashes nothing. People are complaining that they cannot sync with their PC or Mac. But this one as title says is for quicken online so i do not know why the poor ratings. But for me this app is great and what i have been looking for. Way better than Mint app. I deleted mint app as soon as i downloaded quicken. This is way better. If you can add some graphs and ability to create some reports to the app when we go landscape that would fit this.
Great app - especially for a v1.0 By: jeepersjoel - May 1, 2009 Version: 1.0 Great app! Have been waiting for this for a while. I used Mint as well and thought their iphone app was decent but not great. My new bank only links up with Quicken Online so I was glad to see Quicken finally came out with this. Functionality is much better than Mint.com app and it's really impressive for a v1.0 in terms of stability/features/etc. My only thing I'd like to see is ability to add notes to a transaction in addition to the category (Mint app doesn't even let you add/change the category). I tend to add lots of notes so I can remember what things were. Great work Quicken!
Financial Freedom! By: DreamWeaver1 - May 1, 2009 Version: 1.0 Quicken's app puts what you've always wanted right in the palm of your hand. It makes it quick & easy to see how to get ahead and stay ahead! It's true financial freedom! You know where you stand and what you need to do to achieve your financial goals. Use this app everyday and you'll gain control of your finances. It's a life change for the better!!! Stick with the Q! It's safe, it's secure, it's cool as ever!!!
Most Useful Personal Finance Tool I Know By: Snowman27 - 18-Aug-2009 Version: 1.2 Quicken has done well here. You do need to have a Quicken Online account (free) and the iPhone app (free) together. It took all of 10 minutes to set up both [very important to use a zip code when setting up your Online account -who knows why?]. What's really great is the automatic categorization of spending items, trend analysis, goal setting and alert notifications. I now have a portable, daily, detailed tracking of the home budget that my wife and I can work with, without spending huge amounts of time organizing. Although it's very intuitive, I can't seem to find an instruction page or whatnot. It does get banking information from Canadian banks.
Software Updated? By: Justlook - Aug 23, 2009 Version: 1.2 I'm thinking the software has been updated since reviews written in late June. I just downloaded my transactions, went online to pay bills and then opened Itunes. All of the new transac itons and balances had been updated. What a relief. I am a former Palm PDA user and relied on the Quicken software as my checkbook register. It's a relief to finally have that back again! Also signed up for balance updates to teh cell. It is accurate as well. Try to down load the update. Might work better for you now.
best app i own By: modernistblues - 21-May-2009 Version: 1.1 quicken mobile is the best app i own, and it was free! if im waiting at a store and wondering if I have enough money in my account, all I have to do is pop this app open and check! and it works with canadian banks and credit companies!
the custom categories and transaction analysis graphs are awesome, and I really like that you can use the online site to set goals for yourself. i really can't say enough good things about quicken mobile. for the discerning spender, this app is essential!

Excellent Tool By: Mickers - 19-May-2009 Version: 1.1 This app is great, I already use the website, but having access on the go actually makes it useful - the control you have on the iPhone is not just viewing but also editing transactions or recording what you spent money on - a significant improvement to the Quicken experience. The interface looks good and is logical. Cons: I wish the balances were real-time (only updates at intervals, not sure if it's once or twice a day), but unfortunately that's beyond Quicken's control I think. Five Stars! - this app is great, it has immediately taken up residence on my first screen. * you need to set up a website login and connect all your bank accounts/credit cards first (which is free) *
Good app - carefully read the reviews By: EDS72 - Jul 13, 2009 Version: 1.2 I use Quicken for Mac at home. Seeing this free iPhone app (which only works with Quicken Online), I gave free Quicken Online a try. It is more basic than Quicken for Mac, but has actually made my finances easier to manage. I discovered that my banks seem to work fine with Quicken Online; with Quicken for Mac transaction updates were a manual two-step download, but with Online it appears to be automatic and therefore this iPhone app also shows my updated balances.
Give it a try, properly setting up Quicken Online first. You may find it to be a quality tool. Nice free app, with good potential.
Great addition By: OmegaOmega - Oct 23, 2009 Version: 1.3 While Intuits Quicken Online service still has a number of kinks to get worked out, it's still a powerful free tool to help manage different facets of your money - budgets, bills , income, goals, etc. This app further extends that effort and functionality while still keeping both services free (online and iPhone app). Sometimes transactions lag behind a little but from a functionality perspective both tools function very well. My only concern is that the app is a battery HOG. I can watch my percentage drop as I use the app to go through my transactions to update categories. My hope is Intuit can streamline the app a little more to be a little less battery intensive.
Balanced By: KRayGolf - Jun 26, 2009 Version: 1.2 I have yet to see any of the problems mentioned by other complaints. I have 4 different accounts from 3 different banks, 3 credit cards, and everything syncs perfectly and daily. I would agree about changing the payee name, but I do believe it does seem to learn after awhile (no more entering McDonalds for me).
Word to the frustrated, try setting up your free online accounts CORRECTLY and you shouldn't have problems.
Perfect companion for the Online Version By: Colocelt - May 24, 2009 Version: 1.1 It is pretty clear that this free app is for the Quicken Online version (also free)...so if you don't use it or like it this is not the app for you. But if you are looking for a free solution to keep your accounts in balance I think this is perfect solution.
I personally love how easy it is to add an upcoming transactions on the go it is exactly the companion piece I was looking for. Great job on this app!!
I do hope you offer a paid app down the road for those people that use the desktop versions so they realize that this app is not for their version (I know big learning curve for them)

Easy to use! Excellent budgeting system! By: Brandon.Robb - 8-Nov-2009 Version: 1.3 After reading the reviews, I kind of new what to expect. It's an awesome app regarding budgeting and money management, and I think a lot of the poor reviews were that people do not have the patience to find a ZIP code from the states relative to where they live in Canada. I was not able to find 2 of my 3 banking institutions, however when you sign up online, there is an option to get them to add your institution. Overall the ease of use and streamlined design of this app is excellent, it just needs patience/proper ZIP code equivalent.
Awesome By: MacGirl79 - May 9, 2009 Version: 1.0 I am so excited that this app is finally here. I love using Quicken Online, but hated using the Quicken Software (I've used both the pc & mac versions). A major plus is that Quicken Online and Quicken Online Mobile are both FREE!! The one and only thing I found and that deducted 1 star for was that your have to sign out of the app if you have made changes on the internet version for the changes to be updated on the app.
Working well for me except for one tiny issue By: Susan Rubendall - Sep 23, 2009 Version: 1.3 Or perhaps it is a big issue. Six months ago, I bought a car, paying for it with a check. Quicken Online Mobile has determined that this is a repeating purchase, so every month it tells me that I am in dire danger of an overdraft. I delete the offending transaction and all is well again -- but only for the current month. The next month, Quicken will again think I am buying the car. Anyone know how to stop a repeating transaction that never should have repeated?
Some Suggestions... By: C&LJax - 2-Aug-2009 Version: 1.2 Seems to work great up here in Canada. Would like to have the option of editing transaction names and accounts, instead of having to do it by logging on to the actual website from a desktop computer. If I could Refresh my bank accounts directly from this app instead of waiting till I'm at my desktop computer. Even if these extra options were available when logging on through Safari. Finally it would be nice if I could switch chart information from account to account through the app.
