I love this app By: Keeda - Sep 18, 2009 Version: 1.41 I use this app to manage my cash spending. I have set up a budget more times than I can count but my debit card was always my nemesis. Now with Dave Ramsey and other financial experts help I have started a cash envelope system but it was hard to do using actual envelopes. This little app allows me to set up virtual envelopes while keeping the cash in my wallet. I just plug in the money I've spent, often as soon as I get in the car and I immediately know how much I have left to spend in a category. It works perfectly for me and has been invaluable in helping me to stick to a budget finally. I love it! I only need it for my cash spending so the lite version is perfect for my needs.
I use this app every time I shop By: Storkiemeg - Jun 5, 2009 Version: 1.41 I have created two budgets with this app. One is my weekly budget and one is my savings budget. Since going through Financial Peace University, my dh has placed us on a cash basis for weekly spending. I have a certain allowance each week and then any savings get transferred to the other budget. It is nice to be able to easily keep up with how much cash I have left for the week and to know exactly where the money went. Once you enter a name, then it is remembered so suggestions will come up when you start typing it in again (I like this update). They have also updated so that you can more easily see your budget history. You can also enter notes with each entry. This is an easy to use tool and it has been a big help with my budgeting.
I finally know what I'm spending my money on! By: Hot Turkey Bowl - Dec 5, 2008 Version: 1.29.1 It's as if I've awaken from a coma of mindless spending! This app is really cool and easy to use. Once I have a full-time job and a lot more money to manage, I'll probably upgrade to the paid app. On that note, though I haven't seen the paid app, one thing I think would be really neat is a field for labeling where you made purchases. I frequently pick up hot turkey bowls from Wawa and get gas from the same stations, but I always feel obligated to type "Store name - stuff i bought" in the name field. If I could view my purchases by location, I would know where I spend a little too much money!
I'm thrifty, this is nifty. By: txartcgal - Sep 21, 2008 Version: 1.27 Shop on a tight budget? This app is great! I put in a starting amount, and as I shop I input each item I place in my cart and its amount. Spend Lite keeps tabs on how much $$ I have left to spend for that trip. If you go over your budget, you can open up the list and see the cost of each item and decide which item you want to take out of your cart and subtract from your bill. VERY quick and easy to use. I also like it that I know how much $$ I spent at a given store on a given item...so, next time I may find it cheaper at a different market. I also can see using this on a vacation to keep up with your vacation budget. You can tag a certain amount of $$ on souvenirs, a certain amount of $$ on dining, etc. I'm not a gambler, but I can see somebody using this in Vegas and putting in that they only want to spend $100 gambling...they can keep track of their losses and their wins and make sure to quit while they're ahead. Thumbs up!
A Trial Version- Great By: Savvycyclist - Aug 28, 2008 Version: 1.2 I don't care if this application is great or terrible-it's a trial and that's great. I've contacted the developer of several other apps to ask if they would do certain things and been told they would only to find out that was not the case. For this one, you try it and if it does not, you don't buy the the app. What could be better? I hope this is a great application and the developer makes a ton of money!
It works. By: robbiow - 01-Apr-2009 Version: 1.4 This isn't quickbooks for ipod, but works brilliantly as a home budgeting tool. Set your own spending targets by your own expense categories. Then just enter expenses as they happen. It remembers the descriptions you've used (saves typing). Carries the over/under spend forward into the next week. Full history visible. Intuitive interface. Retrospective expense entry no worries. My only complaint - i'd like a monthly budget option rather than weekly. It won't do your tax, but it's real easy to use.

So far, so good By: Jesstootall - May 24, 2009 Version: 1.41 I used this app to go grocery shopping with. I was used to using a calculator and losing my total halfway through the trip. Also nice to be able to see how much things are without trying remember in case you have to put something back. I think this may just save my bank account! The only request I have is for a calculator when you are entering your price. That way you can add multiple items or prices without leaving the app. Thanks for a great free app!
Perfect By: Alf! - Jan 31, 2009 Version: 1.35 Just what I was looking for, rollover weekly budgeting. Couldn't be easier, after trying a couple of other similar apps this is definitely the most intuitive and useful for the fairly simple task I was looking for.
ONE nitpick, for some reason the interface has been updated so that anytime you're entering numbers it takes you to a separate number screen (essentially the phone pad). Why? It's not a big deal, just pointless and a lil annoying. Switch it back to just using the numbers on the QWERTY, plus that way I can still see screen as I input the numbers, just like when I'm typing.
Otherwise, this app I dig.

Notes and other features By: xc21 - Jan 31, 2009 Version: 1.35 I think this is a wonderful app that is far better than most of the competition. It's simple, incredibly easy to use, well laid out, and actually useful-it doesn't have too many features, just the ones I want.
However, I'm not buying the full version until it has a simple notes field. It's just too difficult to cram all the information I need to remember in the little title section! There are many other things I would love to see eventually (QIF export, more details like vendors or subcategories, and maybe even the ability to make seperate budgets for a checking and savings account, for example, or at least "hideable" budgets that don't automatically show up for less-frequent expenses), but the notes field is a must-have.
Still, it's a great app and I highly recommend it!
I Give it 4 Star's For One Reason By: TheMok - Dec 14, 2008 Version: 1.3 I absolutly love this App. I have the free version but its FULL-Featured. Alas, i have one request. I would gladly pay for the addition of this. I would like the budget's to be able to have catagories. So that i can have sub budgets to my budgets. That would be sooooo convienent. I will pay for the full version if it can have that feature. But Adam i love the App. Thanks for making it. It has helped save me money and i use it everyday.
Good By: NinjaMD - Aug 13, 2008 Version: 1.0 I really like how this app gives you at a glance what you still have available in each category! VERY cool. EVERY app could benifit from a limited free version like this to see if they want to purchase the full one!
However, I would love to be able to change how much money is in a particular category (let's say I want to change the "Gas" budget from $40 to $55 a week) without having to delete and re-make that category all over again (I don't know if that's available in the full version).
Great beginnings! Hope to see some good updates soon.
Best one By: Momgyver1 - Oct 14, 2009 Version: 1.41 I would have given 5 stars but the lite version crashes sometimes. Good news it does not loose my info, bad news cost them a star. What the heck it's free and it is the best budget tool I have seen. I tried EVERY free budget app. available and this is the one I will buy. The rest were to complicated and did not meet my needs. I follow the KISS rule, if I have to jump through hoops to enter an expense or deposit I won't to use it. Spend makes it easy and it is very user friendly. I hope the paid version does not crash, I will read reviews first =^) to find out.

To the poster below By: parrot5 - 15-Aug-2008 Version: 1.0 This free version is like a demo of the full app. This free one does not allow you to change the cycle.
Exactly what I needed By: Wizard number 2 - Mar 27, 2009 Version: 1.4 Cannot get anything more useful for free. I use this app all the time. I love the roll over feature and history. Keep up the good work. Nice gradient color in the new update, but the oval definitely look better than rectangles.
Spend Lite By: AaronTilley - 29-Apr-2009 Version: 1.41 Perfect and free! So good that I deleted it, after getting the full version! The only problem is that I had to re-enter all my info, oh well.
Love it. Love it! By: Codykukay - 17-Apr-2009 Version: 1.28 It is clean simple and fun to use!
I'm Lovin'it By: CoolBun - 17-Oct-2008 Version: 1.28.1 One that can help you to keep to your budget for the day/month so you do not overspent. Can even save =) This is a great software to have.
