I am excited about the USAA App! USAA "recruited" me about 6 or 7 months ago while they were still develpoing the app to test out this app at their headquarters. Even paid me $100 for giving my feedback about what I liked, what could be improved and much more. I see that a lot of my own suggestions within it which sort of feels like a tiny part of me in there if that makes any sense. There are a lot of features that they were thinking of (like making a mobile deposit using your phones camera to take a photo of the checks front and back) that are not here, I am sure if they choose to add ideas that they were testing it would greatly improve the USAA customers mobile banking experience. I love the app I feel a little part of me in it so its great. I am a USAA customer to the heart I will never stray.

IT works on the Touch!!!!

I’m not sure what all the screaming is about with this app and the Ipod touch. I have an 8gig 1st generation Ipod touch and it works great on it. Every touch user out there knows that to be connected you have to be in a WiFi area and connected, otherwise you cannot do anything on the web.
On the application main screen it tells you it will work with the Iphone and Ipod Touch as long as you have the 2.2 software update.
Touch users, make sure you have the latest software update, connected to a WiFi source, download and try it. It Works great on mine!!!!

USAA has the best bank in America, and this app just illustrates this. Why do business with a brick & mortar bank that does nothing than waste your time and gasoline? USAA's app lets me bank ANYWHERE! The typical banks of today overcharge you for everything, and still rely on your tax dollars to bail them out. Does this business model make sense? Why pay your bank twice, with your tax dollars and the money you pay in fees? Get this app and take care of your banking needs on your terms. This app makes my life easier. PERIOD! Thanks USAA, for taking care of our troops and their families, so they can take care of all of us.

This is one of the best enhancements any app has ever gotten, I am refering to the deposit checks with the phone app. It works like a charm for the 3Gs and even with the less sensitive 3G camera it still works. This is a huge time saver and convienence. Its no wonder USAA has such hi praises from its customer base. Thanks for all your hard work, and keep up the amazing improvements, can't wait to see what's instore for the future.

Usaa deserves 5 stars in everything they do! Everything u can ask for, ATM locator, transfer funds, pay bills, it's just like your at the bank when your on the website or u pick up your iPhone! One thing I would like to see would be your account total in the account activity, showing how much money u have left over after every transaction. I know you see it one the main page but it would help track your money better with that.

USAA Always exceeds my expectations with their customer service, and this iPhone app is yet another home run! All of the functionality of their mobile website is now available with a nice iPhone friendly user interface. I was pleasantly surprised by the usability of the banking features, and the extras --- like virtual proof of insurance -- will come in very handy next time I'm caught without an insurance card. The ATM finder uses my GPS location to find the nearest ATMs too. Awesome app. Can't beat the price, either!

I dont normally rate on applestore but this app is so awesome I felt compelled to say something. First off, there are a lot of unnecessary and unfair ratings for this app from pissed off itouch users who don't have access to the program. U shouldn't be able to rate an app if you can't even use it. It skews the accuracy of the ratings system. The program itself is well written. Very stable, haven't had a crash yet. The interface is simple and straightforward. If you happen to use the mobile version of USAA.com through safari on the iPhone, you'll love this program. It's essentially the same thing but much faster as there is a lot less data to load since the app is on your local iPhone. I can look at all my accounts and there is even an ATM locator, invaluable tool in unfamiliar cities. I even trade stocks with the app. My only suggestion is to provide some market research or access to financial articles through the app. Also creating watch lists for stocks on the app would be nice.

8-11-09: USAA has really taken initiative and moved to the forefront of the mobile banking business with the recent addition of Deposit@mobile. This feature has made the app immeasurably more useful and has really impressed everybody I know who's seen it. WAY TO GO, USAA! -------- This app is partly a copy of the mobile site, with additional features. The following improvements would make this a "six" star app: *PIN access, save login info and require just a pin, like other mobile banking apps do. *Improved GUI that would pull information from the mobile site into an even better looking, easy-to-use app rather than just acting as a 'gateway' web browser.

I opened up an account with USAA just to use the ability to deposit checks using my iPhone. It works as advertised, its very convienient, and USAA has great customer support.Something I didn't know however is that on top of having checking account with them, you need to be qualified for either a credit card or a loan from them to. I went with the credit card, which was quickly appproved for using there web site. Good job USAA!

Great Application. I'm glad it finally came out. I especially appreciate the accident checklist feature. If USAA developers are reading this, PIN accessibility would be even more convenient. I've used a couple other applications that made me initially log in with username and password but then gave me the option to establish a PIN to access the app on subsequent sessions. A feature like this would make this app even more convenient.

As of right now the USAA app is only available for the iPhone. It clearly says this in the description, yet people continue to download it for the iPod Touch and rate it 1 star. For those that haven't used the app, HOW CAN YOU RATE IT???
This app takes the mobile version of USAA and plugs it into an app. There is not an option to remember your login information - which is probably a good thing - but the AT&T USAA Mobile Banking app allows you to setup a PIN for logging on. A lot easier. Overall - great app with a lot of useful features.

I don't understand the 1 star reviews complaining that this isn't out for the iPod Touch. It's baseless. A mobile banking app is meant to be mobile, which means it must have the ability to connect to a network everywhere. An iPod Touch can only connect to a Wi-Fi network which essentially renders it's usefulness in an app like this pointless, because a computer is probably nearby.
The app relies heavily on iPhone (not iPod Touch) capabilities, like GPS to find a local ATM, and the ability to call.... numbers...
It's a great App and USAA delivers.

USAA deserves particular recognition for not only serving its customers so well, but extending that detailed level of attention all the way to the functionality it built into this iPhone application. Apple really ought to spotlight USAA *as well as* this application. In the current climate of "market forces/capitalism über alles", it's excellent to see a real world example of how well a non-profit organization (think 'public option') :) strives to serve its members.

What do you expect from what has to be THE best bank operating right now? This app is top notch. It works everytime and does so much more than I expected. I thought that depositing a check with my scanner at home was amazing (does your bank do that?), but now they come out with Deposit@Mobile so I can deposit a check with my iPhone!!! Absolutely amazing.
All banks should wish they were HALF as good as USAA! I'm so lucky to be eligible to have an account with them. They provide my banking, IRA's, auto loans, auto insurance, life insurance, property insurance, mortgage, and on and on. I've tried to find a better deal for these things, but I simply can't. No one can match their prices.
If you're a USAA member, get this app NOW!!

This application let you do everything you can do on their website. Check you accounts, pay bills, transfer funds, locate ATM's and it also comes with an accident check list. You also have their contact information for all the services they provide. Very proud to be one of your loyal costumers.
One thing I do not like is the fact that you have to log in to each individual section (i.e. My accounts, you log in to that section and that's all you can see, and interact with) I believe the app would be better if you can log in and once you are logged in, you see all the options presented to you (i.e. My accounts, pay bills etc) that way you dont have to log out and log back in if you are making more than one transaction. I'm giving 5 starts because it works flawlessly and it makes it so much easier than going to safari.

I use this application on a regular basis and love its convenience factors! Now you can even TAKE A PICTURE OF A CHECK and it will be deposited into your account (USAA does have a few pre-requisites to use this service, they're easy)!! The only thing I wish I could do would be to place trades with my bond fund...but that could be because of an issue that I have created myself on USAA.com. Overall, I am VERY happy with this application, you can exchange funds between counts, pay bills, check balances...the whole nine yards! You also have ATM locators, roadside assistance with GPS location of your vehicle, quick USAA contact number information and more!

Installed wirelessly, no fuss, and after entering my credentials (same user/pass/pin as the web) I was up and running instantly. I used the deposit a check feature using the iPhone camera, and after only 1 "retake" due to dim lighting, I got that working flawlessly. USAA is a fantastic company, in part due to their commitment to innovation like this. For those reviewers who pan it saying you have to open an account/credit, etc., well OF COURSE - the company is doing their part to reduce fraud. Having been a USAA member since 1992, I can tell you this is totally legit.

Kudos to USAA for making this available. It walks you through step by step and is easy to complete. Great user interface. I've got the older 3G but the camera was still good enough for USAA to recognize. I deposited the check and the funds were instantly available. A couple minutes later I transferred the funds to an outside account. I'll never drive to the bank to deposit a check again. Amazing app.

What will they do next to amaze me?

Improved upon the previous version which already was awesome. The new version now allows me to deposit checks from within the app instead of waiting until I get home to scan in the check. This is perfect for when I'm travelling and someone gives me a check. I can open the app on my iPhone, start up the USAA app, take the required pictures of my check and then BAM!, my money is instantly available.

I've had USAA insurance, credit card and financed two vehicles through them for about 10 years. I was hesitant to move my checking to them, since they don't have physical locations - I was worried about having to mail deposits to them. Once I found out about this app, I switched my checking accounts to USAA too! Super convenient, photo deposits are awesome, combined with the greatness of USAA as a whole, is why I recommend USAA, and this app to everyone. This app would be reason enough to make me get an iPhone, if I didn't already have one!
