China Mahjong ===> China Mahjong 2(Free Update)
Oldest game in the world! Real Mahjong!
Language: English, 简体中文(Simple Chinese) and 繁體中文(Traditional Chinese).
Many historians believe Mahjong was based on a Chinese card game called Mǎdiào (馬吊) in the early Ming dynasty. Today, Mahjong (麻将 麻雀),one of oldest and best ancient games, still is most popular game in East Asian Area . Support English, 简体中文(Simple Chinese) and 繁體中文(Traditional Chinese). China Mahjong(中華麻將,中华麻将) is based on China Mahjong Standard.
Thanks all, thanks for your comments. Next update is developing.
我希望老人也可以玩這個遊戲,比如我爸爸,我媽媽,他們都有一點老花樂,所以我盡力讓麻將看起來大一點。謝謝大家,謝謝你們的意見,你們是我最寶貴的財富之一。
China Mahjong 2已經上線,歡迎繼續提意見,我會持續改進。

"Nice Mahjong App for iPhone" by Tochie 5star
Finally, Mahjong the way I remember it! Thanks for bringing this wonderful game to the iPhone. Also a minor suggestion, can you make the app display a shorter name on the iPhone so that it does not get truncated with a "China...jhong" name. Probably just "Mahjong" or "CMahjong". Thanks!
--- Yes already change to Mahjong in China mahjong 2---
"Real mahjong!! :-)" by Krista1813 5star
I love this game!! Anyone that enjoys playing mahjong should get this one!!
--- Thanks a lot---
"Yes! My favorite game!" by Tsuimonsta 5 star
Now this game is what I'm talking about! I love this kind of Mah Jong and I don't think I like it any other way! Now if there is Cantonese speaking in the game... That would be pretty cool and awesome!
---But I not know how to speak Cantonese---
"Nice game!!" by Yauhing 4 star
It's a nice game and it may be better if there is a save function
--- Now there is resume function, could resume game from last turn---
"Apple needs to Follow Suit" by Ernoid 4 star I've bought a number of high profile iPhone games, and download a number of free games. Although I am not an expert Mahjong player at all, I really enjoyed playing this game everywhere I go, and is now the only game I play on the iPhone. This game should do well amongst the Asian iPhone/iPod Touch owners. I must say the graphics / design is not good (in fact can say poor), but the game addresses a fundamental demand amongst Asian owners. Apple, although you may not understand the game, there is a reason why this ancient game has done so well over history amongst East Asian cultures. You should applaud this.
I would ask Yi Shao to try and improve the characters / design, background, and tile design for a better player experience and packaging.
--- I am continue working to improve this software. Thank you.---

Finally! Mahjong the way Grandma Wong taught us!  rating of China Mahjong
By: mhowe1980 - Nov 12, 2009
Version: 2.1
My trips to our Grandmother's house would often be punctuated by requests to play Mahjong with my Grandmother's vintage set. Over the years, I wanted to play this game on the computer, but had to settle for tile stacking/matching games that only 'claimed' to be Mahjong.
Finally, 'China Mahjong' is the program that I and many have been waiting for. It plays by the rules I was taught, and serves as a great alternative to the more conventional solitaire for a time-killer. Of all the apps I've purchased, this was one that I had no second thoughts about, and it is constantly in play on my daily trips to and from work.

oh man. this is the best mahjong app. ive had this app for a while, but the background, characters, and graphics were so horrible that I refused to play on this mahjong app. there is now def huge improvment graphic wise, which is what attracted and made me switch over to this app. I'm glad I did b/c I have to say, it's so much better playing on this particular mahjong app as opposed to the other mahjong apps. also I'm so glad that the person saying pong, zhe,etc has a Beijing accent or proper putong hua accent. tired of hearing annoying whiny Taiwanese accent -_- the music is great and very nice backgrounds. also like the fact that this app gives us ability to choose characters. it doesn't make a diff, but it is little things like that, that make this app a little bit more fun. Suggestions : add instructions. after finally reading the instructions on another iPod taiwanese mahjong app, I finally understand how to play. I could have asked my family members but they didn't have the time. so adding inteuction should help out the ppl can't figure out how to play and delete app after downloading game. also maybe adding diff traditiinal chinese music per 4 rounds would be cool. BG of US capital etc. Its nice, but kind of awkward. china has so many other beautiful places and architecture.

Great app  rating of China Mahjong
By: Dr Svensk - Mar 24, 2009

The updated version with new graphics, music and options is terrific. Amidst the flood of solitaire mahjong games, it's good to find the real deal - hooray for this developer! I was about to post a four star review with a recommendation of a fix on a typo, mislabeling the North Wind tiles. It was fixed in this version! As for the tile speed - a matter of taste. I kind of liked the faster speed because it was closer to the action in any mahjong parlor in Hong Kong, China, Japan, etc. But it's fine. In the minor wish list department, I wouldn't mind a small tile with the wind of the round placed next to the dealer's icon as a reminder.
I'm still hoping this publisher or others out there add apps with Japanese/Reach rule sets and Hong Kong rule sets. And when I'm really feeling grandiose, I wish for a port of Arto Tenkanen's fine Four Winds game from the PC, which gives you a choice of every conceivable international rule set and a wonderful array of display choices. But, having said that, China Mahjong is a welcome program and very well worth the money.

My favorite four winds mahjong  rating of China Mahjong

Thanks for a great game and especially the updates. After I saw the updates, I decided to buy the game and I'm glad I did. The music is even more beautiful when heard through earphones. I'm happy to have a good mahjong game and the tiles in my hand are large enough for me to see.
I would like to see the discard tiles better. They're too small for my 52 year old eyes (even with glasses). I have to hold the screen too close to my face in order to see them.
I would also like the flowers/seasons added. I would also like to be able to pause the game, or go back to the main menu without quitting. I wonder if my install is bad because the icon on my ipod touch does not show the "2" that is on the icon in the ITunes Store.

Nice update, but...  rating of China Mahjong
By: lpotr4 - Mar 19, 2009

Loving the updates to this fantastic Mahjong game! One request though, could you please add the option to switch backgrounds? I would certainly prefer a simpler, traditional background similar to a real mahjong table (green?). The current background is nice but distracting during play as it competes attention with the tiles. Also please shorten the app name as it displays on the iPhone to maybe just Mahjong or CMahjong. Thanks!!!

Couldn't find a contact link anywhere so I decided to post another comment. :)
I would LOVE it if you guys could make some more music tracks to listen to while playing. The single track that plays currently wore me out...that isn't to say that it's not a lovely song anyhow.
Also it would be great if we could change the color of the playing table...just a thought!
Thanks again for the great game!

Love it  rating of China Mahjong
By: Mahjong Beginner - Apr 8, 2009

I've just download the game and found it very very interesting, especially the Chinese verbal background. But found the speed too fast for me and the discarded tiles too small. Is there anyway I can adjust the speed ? In additional, need to quit the game and start the game again for the menu and setup. Is there any smarter way to do this or have I just missed anything ? All in all, I am so excited with this game. Thanks !!!

Good Mahjong software, recommended  rating of China Mahjong
By: Win212 - Apr 1, 2009
Version: 2.1
I have playd this game for one weekend a few times end to end on flights. Very cool, and decent.
Couple of issues:
- There seems to be a glitch that if you "Gong" and immediately have a ready set hand to win, it does not recognize that, and forces you to throw away a tile no matter what. And that one time, i was lucky enough to get back the same sequence to win the game, even tho I threw away a tile of prefectly good sequence. Very odd "gong" glitch.
- The "difficult" setting seems kinda pointless. Most of the hands opponents play (a good majority) tend to be very small suits, which is -annoying because it forces me to play quick small games to win quickly. I have yet to see a very beautiful suit with the opponents.
- Hard to tell what Wind and Position it is during play, it is only announced in the beginning. There should be a table tile giving indication, just like a real mahjong table.
Otherwise, good software. Nice Graphics, easy to use.

Very good but still needs improvement  rating of China Mahjong
By: Savarak - Mar 22, 2009
Version: 2.0
I'd like to see the bigs fixed of course including the N and W it also has slowdowns when in the background my email is checked... Also where are the flower tiles? Also needs more music, saving of my character and it's winnings(so it can build up), and also the ability to truly disable the music so I can listen to my mp3s instead(make it so it doesn't turn off what is currently playing). This game is well worth buying. I just hope new updates make it a super hot deal for both existing owners and future buyers I would also like to see the picked tile closer to the right side of the screen instead of the middle, so it is easier to reach... Make it an option for right handed people or left handed people

Need improvement  rating of China Mahjong
By: mshongk0ng - Mar 18, 2009

This is a good MJ game, but need some improvement to where you can play the game with the same tiles to win, it is always a mix of tiles. I am use to playing ching yit sick or dai 4 hay and all the harder MJ level, it does not even let you do that. Also the chinese word North has a letter "W" for west on the corner and not an "N" for north this need to be changed because it will confusing when it has "W" instead of "N". I hope the update come out soon to let you do that. If this can be improve I will come back to give it more stars.
Update~~~Everytime I play the half way it freezes and takes me back to the home screen, when I go back to finish the game it keeps freezing and takes me back the home screen. Please fix this problem.

some suggestion for the game  rating of China Mahjong
By: nogotwins - 25-Jun-2009
Version: 2.1
It is one of the best mahjong games available. The background graphics (palaces, temples and buildings etc) are too 'busy' and distracting, sometimes even obscuring the instructions and options dialogue. Nice if the background is made a bit simpler. The score board graphics is quite good.
I got caught more a few times I could not 胡 (win the game) with 摃上自摸 !! Is there no such rules in the classic chinese rules??

Version 2 is such an improvement!!!  rating of China Mahjong
By: Tile Lover - Mar 11, 2009
Version: 2.0
I just updated my China Mahjong v1 and I'm so pleased with the enhancements. It is such a leap from v1. Gamers, please keep in mind, this is a rare app. If you don't already understand Mahjong it may be very difficult for you to learn on the iPhone. However, if you are like me and learning on real sets, this is a great addition to building familiarity with the tiles and the hands. I have been playing with my mom for over a year on antique Chinese sets and I'm still learning. Thank you for adding music and visual images to make it more interesting. Keep up the good work! (Like another reviewer, I noticed right away that the North tiles are mistakenly noted as "W" instead of "N")

Great fun even though flawed  rating of China Mahjong
By: Mahjong Maniac - 06-Apr-2009
Version: 2.1
This is a fun game that follows the rules of the 13 tile game quite closely; it's quite addictive and I often find myself returning to it whenever I'm travelling, on the bus, cab, metro or plane. One issue that I've encountered was when I had been down to one tile and was waiting for my "eye" or pair. I got lucky and managed to "kong" on an already opened "pong" and while back filling a tile, got lucky again and drew the single tile I needed to win. However, instead of being offered a win, I was forced to throw away one of my winning pairs (eye) instead.

Significantly vast improvement!  rating of China Mahjong
By: ihomme - 10-Mar-2009

Wow i'm impressed by the vast improvement this app has gone through! Good job!
Just some small bugs:
1) 北 should be 'N' instead of 'W' in the app.
2) Music/Sound settings doesn't stay everytime the app is opened. They were OFF the previous time i opened it, but when i reopen it again, level of sound is back to normal. When i checked the settings, they were in the lowest(aka OFF) position. Strange...
3) Option to vary the speed of game?
Other than that, great app once again!!
