Reviews:
Move over Tap Tap, the REAL THING is here By: C-Mother-f'in-Los - Jan 17, 2009 Version: 1.0.1 From the company that started it all with their Bemani music games, and has influenced Guitar Hero, Tap Tap and other knock-offs, comes DDR. Yeah its with your fingers. Yeah the music is mostly japanese. But this game plays smoother than Tap Tap Revenge, features the same crisp and entertaining graphics and sound from the arcade games, and is a must download for music game fans. I don't even care if disrespectful American morons dismiss it as "ghey" or "a Guitar Hero ripoff", this is the original and still the best! Can't wait for full version.
Excellent Start By: Brianxstatic - Jan 23, 2009 Version: 1.0.1 I have been an avid DDR player for many years. This port has been long awaited. It's been ashame all the negative views that have been flooding in. The game is a good start. Hopefully there will be an option to change the controls. They block too much I'd the play area. Arrows layer along the bottom would suffice. And hopefully settings for the arrows and such will be included like coloring the arrows for note count etc. Great start. Looking forward to the official release.
It's called LITE for a REASON By: zeroxhour - 17-Apr-2009 Version: 1.0.2 It has one song so that you get a taste of what the full version is like. That way if you like how the first song feels like, then you buy the full version. And if you don't like "Chinese" songs then please be aware that DDR is Japanese and whoever said that the song is Chinese has never played real DDR...I still enjoy playing the lite version. It is challenging on basic, but now that they have added beginner, there shouldn't be a problem.
Just awaiting the full game By: Tenshia - Jan 26, 2009 Version: 1.0.1 Great music: I was a bit frightened that it was going to be like the DDR games for cell phones, but it more like a arcade port. Great interface: It's DDR for your fingers! I can't think of a better place to make a DDR game than the iPhone and iPod touch. Great graphics: True to the DDR games. Colorful, eyecatching video and a dancer to shake their stuff to the tunes. I can't wait till the full release. Thank you, Konami!
Omg By: Magicthief - Jan 20, 2009 Version: 1.0.1 This is a awesome game, the software is very polished and runs very smoothly. Can't wait for the full version. I swear... To those who gas this a 3 or a 2 I have one thing to say to you. IT IS A DEMO do u expect it to have all the songs???? That's a lame reason to give it such low score for such a high quailty game. Thing before you review or don't even do it at all. Overall great game, hope the full version will be better!! - Magicthief
Why people why? D: By: Shadow_Fox - Mar 10, 2009 Version: 1.0.1 Sigh... I wish people would rate stuff more appropriately =.=;And don't rate this by the difficulty of the song =/---This game is going to be awesome! ^_^I don't mind how much it will cost, and I am positive they are not going to give an awesome game for free (whoever thought that one up... lol). And personally I don't want them to add a bunch of American songs in the games D: Their music is so much better for this game. =]I hope they add a lot of their original songs too ^__^
Lots of fun By: Ernie Thomason - Feb 7, 2009 Version: 1.0.1 This game is a lot of fun. I like it better than the other free tap-tap game. The music and graphics are top-notch. (I'm surprised I started anjoying the J-pop song as much as I did, as I'm definately not a dance music fan.) After playing about 10 times, I finally got a grade of C (after by many Ds). It's not easy, but it's challanging and fun. I too am looking forward to the full version, which says something since I've only purchased two games so far.
True to the original By: Tran senpai - Jan 20, 2009 Version: 1.0.2 This demo has exceeded my expectations! Really translates well on the iPhone. Any ddr fan will love this demo. Only one song but if the full version offers downloadable songs then I will definitely buy this. I immediately loved the responsiveness and accuracy of the controls. Also, excellent job on the model. Very cute and I hope you offer more models as cute as the one in the demo. Suprisingly fluid!! The game never lags and is very crisp. One final note, if Konami sticks to jpop then I think this will act as a great gateway to Japanese pop music similar to older iterations of DDR!Great job, as good as I remember! Without the loud stomping and sweat!
Pretty Sweet By: HiddenTruth - Jan 26, 2009 Version: 1.0.3 The game is pretty cool. Been a fan of DDR games for a long time. I have all three for the Xbox 360. This game is a bit difficult, esp. for newcomers, even I horribly failed the demo the first time, but don't give up, that's the easy way out. Keep trying, I did and fully enjoyed it. Give it a chance, it is a demo after all. I suspect the full game will be great. Oh and btw, the game is not in Chinese. The song is in Japanese however, whitch is common. DDR games use many j-pop songs due to there fast pace. Lastly, the company website has not opened the English mobile page yet. Chillax people.
Make Full version ASAP! By: Omgish it's rose - Jan 20, 2009 Version: 1.0.1 Who can't love this game it's like the best thing ever invented! Yea there's only one song but that song rulez! I love the songs by tërra like the one in DDR super nova doll. And this is easy I don't know how ppl complain it's hard but please put a lv changer thing u know like expert mode beginner , etc. Anyways again... THIS APP RULEZ!!!Update: FYI to the people that are complaining Why the heck are you saying it's hard and only one song duh it's lite version and if u don't like then delete it and there I bet you guys complain about all the free stuff c.cUpdate 2: to djdan200: I beat ur score try beating 219.055 with a 211 combo n.n

Seriously... By: ErionHashimoto - Mar 10, 2009 Version: 1.0.1 Don't take it out on the app because you're too dumb to play the game. It's not hard, it's basic DDR. And if you don't have any notion of the value that this video game series has on the entertainament industry, just don't write bad reviews pretending like you know. Also, this is only the demo version. Stop complaining about the lack of songs. As for my review... it's DDR, 5/5. It really feels like DDR, even though it's played by tapping the arrows on the screen. Even the song featured in this demo is from previous DDR installments (the SUPERNOVA editions). Please release the full version soon!P.S.: For anyone who's hoping for it, I really don't think it'll be free.
A good start By: White__Rice - Mar 10, 2009 Version: 1.0.1 Short review:This looks like it should be a good DDR port for the iPhone.Longer review:I've been an avid DDR player for 8+ years, played quite a bit of damcemania (DDR clone on computer) and have enjoyed Tap Tap Revenge on the iPhone here. The audio on this demo sounds good, it's a song from DDR Supernova, so it isn't unknown to me. The graphics are clean; quite colorful and bright, as the graphics in DDR games always are. The control is a little odd, having the "pad" only visable when you touch it (though doing so keeps the play area clear and readable) The scoring system looks as it should, the random cheering is where it should be, and so long as you don't have your phone packed to capacity with data, there shouldn't be much/any lag. So long as the price is reasonable, I'll be buying this app upon release.
Thank you for the trial... can't wait for the full version! By: frozen01 - Jan 17, 2009 Version: 1.0.1 I figured I'd try this out just for the fun of it (it is free, after all). Never thought in a million years it would actually make me want the full version, but now I can't wait for it to come out! This has the look and feel of a real DDR game in the palm of your hand. Fun music, challenging gameplay, beautiful graphics... A+ all around! The only complaint is that my iPhone tends to slip around a little bit while I'm trying to play, but that's not Konami's fault. I should probably get a case for this thing... One thing I don't understand is how this game only has a 2.5 star rating. Almost all the reviews are 4 and 5 stars! There's only a handfull of 1 star reviews, and almost every single one of them include the words "great game" in them (if it's so great, why are you only giving it one star?) This rating system is pretty screwed up.
Great By: lolomgwtfbbq - 22-Mar-2009 Version: 1.0.1 Sometimes my thumbs forget where the buttons are and I miss, but I guess that's my fault. Other than that, very loyal to the arcade and console versions. Can't wait for full version, hope it won't be too expensive.EDIT: Full version is out now. And just a note: you gotta love the idiots who say this game needs more tracks, and pointlessly give this app one star. IT'S A FREE DEMO VERSION TO SHOW HOW THE FULL VERSION WILL BE PLAYED. Wow.EDIT 2: Are you serious? even after the full version comes out, there are STILL people giving this trial version a bad rating, saying it "needs more tracks." Rediculous.EDIT 3: "ipodlover036" and "deviledcheese666" are both idiots. STOP COMPLAINING THAT THIS GAME HAS ONE SONG. It isn't meant to be a full game! That's why it has "Lite" in the title. Search "ddr" in the app store search bar, and the full version is there. If you want more songs and a choice of difficulties, download that one. PLEASE stop giving this app a lower rating than it deserves.
Stupid idiots By: jomanto - Feb 21, 2009 Version: 1.0.1 Little kids who can't even try or think by yourself shouldn't own a iPhone or itouch. If you can't keep up then keep practicing. Before I kept getting200-300k but now I get 700-800! And don't lower the rating just because you want the full version free... People need to earn money, not fullfill your selfish needs. Anyways a fame of this calibre is good enough to have a range of 6-9$ anything over 10 people will call it too expensive, so ready your pockets!
I can't get enough of it By: DDR rocks - Jan 30, 2009 Version: 1.0.2 To all these people that keeps complaining of how fast this game is, easy just don't play it. This game was made for people who love Dance Dance Revolution and not for people who are just trying to play it and master it in one day, it's about dedication and pasion for it. I'll definatly get the full version it doesn't matter How much it cost, so please hurry with the full version and make it as hard as possible !!!!
Awesome! (may take practice) By: fred1234567 - 10-Mar-2009 Version: 1.0.1 This game is awesome! Not only does it run smoothly with no crashes, it's very addicting even with only one song! Lots of comments say that the game is too hard, but like anything new, it just takes practice. The first time i played i failed right away. the 2nd time, I only got a D. But if you just keep practicing you will learn the song and the pattens, and now I can get A every time. (my highest score is 880,000). Again, awesome game and can't wait for the full ver. 5/5
Thank You Konami! By: JRS423 - Nov 11, 2009 Version: 2.1.0 Thank You Konami for making a sequel (sort of) of DDR S. You put great choices of songs. I have a Challenge. You put all songs on shake mode. Better than S. If all of you people hate it all I have to say is... You're missing the fun. What I want in this game is make the game Icon the same as DDR S With a Blue Plus in the bottom right corner. And Fix rating for songs... I was expecting the X2 Theme but it's okay. You should Also add these Packs to the DDR Store. Go dance dance! By: Lady Fire - Feb 20, 2009 Version: 1.0.1 I love this game!At first I had trouble now I am getting repeated b's and now A!I love the demo song it's fun to tap my fingers to! My right hand is getting a workout! LolThe graphics are beautiful audio quality great and I love the speed and crowd cheers!Just one thing; as you already know by now... WE WANT THE FULL VERSIONI swear, once you release that it'll be the best game on apps!! (I only wish I owned it with you guys and got some of the profit from this amazing app)Ignore bad commments. It's just because the demo is just that; a demo. And only an appetizer! Hurry and make full version I don't want to get tired of this song. (oh and I wanna show off my skills to my friends)Thanks!
I love it By: Twilight Nights - 7-Mar-2009 Version: 1.0.1 When the full version comes out, it just might end up as my very first bought app (assuming it's under $10). I just hope that if I'm not able to buy it that there will be more songs and choice of levels in the Lite version. Good work, though, I am crazy for this game!Edit: @ not 'asisian,' just because one isn't Asian, it doesn't mean he can't be good at these games, vice versa. You don't like the game, the music, fine; but please don't make racist comments for the very simple fact that you may not be the best at this game.In other news, I've played the full version, and I'm pretty impressed so far! Although because of its price I may be a little hesitant, I'm definitely considering buying it.
