If you have doodle jump, buy this app swell it's worth it, and they are goin to add levels to this one :) this app couldnt be free because it was too big too fit on the original so therefore they needed to create it's own app.. And they didn't want people to beable to play doodle jump for free. Basically Its worth the money and I'd pay, more than 59 p for the original anyways so buying this isn't a big ossue

This game is absolutely amazing. Stunning graphics. I can understand why it is a separate game, but it's not a rip-off! It's a very small price to pay for a wonderful game. I'd buy it just for the graphics. It's something that doesn't cost much but is worth it. So stop complaining and grow up!To below, do you think the original game is only 3mb? No. All the stats, and themes take up space as well as the actual game, and the gorgeous new graphics make the game well over 20mb. This game itself is already 17.2mb.

I agree to the fullest extent and I agree with ur argument. A wonderful company with an awesome app has it's ratings going down due to a bunch of kids crying over paying a dollar for the app. It feels as the these customers are the greedy ones due to the fact that they can't let go of a single dollar bill which u can find on the ground without complaining. Cmon people... Wake up... What else is that whole dollar gonna go for? A soda or something which once thats gone it's gone for good. I guess it's the concern of some people here that this app should have been a free update for the previous app, hold on a second, I will get to you.While I agree with other saying it could have been an in app purchase, it is also nice for Lima sky to have a secondary/spinoff app they can have and add content to. Don't forget angry birds has 3 apps, what are people losing their marbles for?Back to my greedy little piggies. For those of you who may not know. This studio has made a multitude of updates to doodle jump, of the which, included 7 additional themes for free. Simple fact is, when Lima sky does something like that, that means they care about their customers, contrary to what a couple of 12 year olds on here think.You see children, it takes 2 things to make an app/ and or updates. 1.time, 2.and money. Aside of-course, being able to meet with the technical aspect of making the actual app. Well they have devoted enough time for their customers to make several themes for the amazing price of ZERO dollars, which have all costed them some time and money to do so. So If they decided they wanted to offer another app for doodle jump and charge just one dollar most people throw away on junk food, I can say, no problem and give them the business of a happy and loyal customer, because they have treated my 1 dollar from the original doodle jump with respect and given me free themes. Now, I know some of you will not understand the simplicity of a business transaction, someone provides a good or service for a price, and someone buys that good or service. The interesting part is, the maker of this wonderful app has gone above and beyond their essential commitment to their product, they've extended their "warranty" for more then expected. Like I said before, I don't expect you greedy 12 year olds to understand. You probably don't have a job, so you have no concept of earning money and the value it's worth (apparently since you want everything for free) and being the teenage/ freeloaders that you are, mom and dad probably pay your phone bill, and still put food on the table for you. Do society a favor and get a job, know what it is to work, don't be cry babies because someone is asking for a well overdue dollar from you and your so stingy you cringe at the fact, since you expect everything for free. Wane up, you'll find reality is out their. Nothing is free...exit public announcement... THANK YOU, For the app.

Ok. So my only complaint is that it now takes up 2 icons.... That's it. That's my only complaint.I don't mine paying a dollar, especially considering all the free content we've gotten out of the original. What would have been awesome, is if, like pocked god, this update could have been an in game purchase update... Now I don't even know it it uses the same game engine and if it would have been possible... But it would have been great to have everything contained into 1 app.Thanks for the hard work and great value Lima sky.

This game makes me frustrated and sad at the same time. It's not the game (which is very well done), nor the price or the fact that it is a separate app than the original. It is simply the fact that people are complaining about this great app. I will list all the "hardships" people are complaining about:- Why do we have to pay a dollar?- Why is it a separate app? Why not a free update- Developers are greedy-Same game, different look- No respect for customersOkay, I will now destroy these complaints. First of all, the dollar. It's a dollar for God's sake! Find the change on the ground! Get a job! Beg for money on the street! I don't care! 200 of these things went into buying the iPod touch or the iPhone. It shouldn't be that hard to get a dollar! I mean if you simply can't afford it, I respect that fact and hold nothing against you. But for the people who can, are you out of your freaking minds!!?? You buy a game for a dollar (the same price as a chocolate bar), you love the game but think it is basically the same as the original, you then get hyped up about the dollar, and then waste a bunch of time complaining! What is the point!? Who cares if it is basically the same as the original, it is a fun game! Next two points. Humans as a whole are extremely ignorant. We can't see what is in front of our eyes! This app was not an update to the original Doodle Jump because the graphics could simply not fit into the download limit. The developers wanted to, but couldn't so they made it into a new app. You are probably like "oh, they never said that", but if you looked at the description, you would see it written across the bottom. Some people are saying that you should just download it in a wifi hotspot, but you want to play the game in more places than that, right? And even if it is an extra dollar, it is very fun and entertaining. I don't know why people fail to see that. To a completely different note, the developers are everything but greedy. Over the years they made over thirty updates to this game and haven't charged for them and now they make a spinoff of their old app, and everyone loses their mind. What people don't understand is the fact that most games charge a dollar for every new theme. The original Doodle Jump has 8 themes and 3 different passwords for 3 exciting extras, and yet they don't charge for them. So it is very selfish for the general population to complain over one paid spin off.Last two points (but not the end of my review.) Is Doodle Jump Christmas the same game with a couple better features and a different cover? Of course it is. But that is no reason to cry and scream and curse at the world! Get a hold of yourself! It may be the same game, but it is enhanced with better graphics and beautiful artwork. They also told you that there was also a Christmas version in the original game but of course you weren't looking at that, were you? They didn't try to hide it! You knew what you were getting! So don't cry over the hours of work the developers put into this game. My last point, "how the innocent people got robbed by the crooks at Lima Sky!" Let me start with a history of Doodle Jump's updates. Started out as a notepad theme with limited features. Then was updated with power-ups and moving platforms. Doodle Jump is now a fun, very well-done, and enticing app. They could have stopped there but they didn't. It would have sold just as well but they continued updating. They added themes about Halloween, Christmas, the rainforest, space, soccer, and even the ocean. They gave us anything we wanted! And that may have been the problem! We got so attached with the fact that they would defiantly give away free updates that we began to expect them. We loved them with our heart! But when they made Doodle Jump Christmas a paid app, we were heartbroken. We had expected a free update and we had gotten a paid one. It was like replacing Santa with Scrooge to us! We started to think of the generous Lima Sky, as some greedy corporation draining our money. And we forgot about all they ever gave us. If you still think you are true to your heart about hating Lima Sky, then I am afraid there is not much more to comment on the matter.Anyway, on a more cheery note, let's say why this is a good app to buy! First thing I could say is that if you loved the original Doodle Jump, you are going to love this app. All the old features you know and love (such as retina displays, game center, and leader boards) are all here as well as one other significant add-on. The graphics are amazing! They have done a very good job being creative and colourful with the different monsters and platforms! All aspects of the Christmas theme have been included! Our friend the Doodler is whereing a Santa outfit, the UFOs are shaped like ordements, and the monsters are even reindeer and Christmas trees! And contrary to popular belief, there is even snow! All you have to do is go to the options menu and turn the snow on. This was confusing many people and I hoped to fix it! This app looks absolutely beautiful and keeps all the elements of the original version. The wonderful add-on is simply the background. There is an extremely detailed back layer, which looks marvellous! There are also animated characters farther up that actually move! This is actually the first time the background is engaging! There are North Pole signs and Christmas trees moving all around! Great work guys!There are a few update ideas that would make people very happy:-Change it to Doodle Jump seasons and add themes such as Valentine's Day, April Fools, Easter, Halloween, St. Patrick's Day, etc.-Add power-ups specific to seasons. Ex: A trick in the April Fools may make a platform disappear or change game elements. A mask in the Halloween version may scare monsters and UFOs away.Anyway, great app! You have done a magnificent job. You know you will have me supporting you.

Just come out with Doodle Jump 2 already!

Obviously this is a great game. But now you have 2 Doodle Jumps out that are pretty much the exact same. It would be different if you called this one Doodle Jump 2 then add some new features that the old one didn't have. So now by people buying this one, are you updating this one AND the old one? Or just the old one and totally ignoring this one? This was a bad decision made on Lima Sky's part. Considering this will just confused people on what one to buy. I don't mind paying 99 cents for an amazing app. But common guys!

Doodle Jump is an extremely fun game, and I love the art style of this version. It's a little ludicrous to complain about paying for this version, you knew exactly what you were buying; Doodle Jump with a Christmas theme. The devs actually did intend to make this a free update, but all the new art would've greatly increased the size of the original Doodle Jump, and so we get a separate app. And seriously, it's one dollar.

I love doodle jump as a game, and I loved how it was updated on a weekly basis, and that was awesome. But then the updates started slowing down and got stupider. Now I have to PAY for another theme? What is this? They're just trying to make more money instead of developing a great game which has great and frequent and FREE updates.This is stupid. Don't make your customers pay AGAIN for the same game but a different theme

Doodlejump is cashing in some of their copious amounts of goodwill brought on by a low price, free updates, and good communication with gamers. I am one of many people who gushed to everyone they knew about indie developers like these guys taking on big studios and making a well-deserved fortune off of .99 apps. I would rather donate $2 to doodlejump than have to pay $1 for a skin that looks pretty similar to the existing christmas skin (that was free). Even though they deserve the extra cash, I would rather not have two separate doodlejump apps and I could only be satisfied with this purchase if they continued to update for each holiday (like angry birds seasons). I know there are a lot of people on here who treat a dollar like a million bucks, and don't get me wrong this is a great game for $1 and it gets 5 stars, but I'm just saying they are going back on what made people love them in the first place.

To all of the people complaining that this should be free, you all obviously can't read. It explains in the description why it isn't free. Stop being idiots and read something for a change. On the other hand, I love this app! Doodle jump was one of the first apps I had bought from the app store and it will always be a favorite! It's a simple concept, but it keeps me entertained for hours. (: Keep up the great work, Lima Sky.

This is brilliant. I would've been prepared to pay double the price, for this app, because it is worth every single hundredth of a penny, and is just so awesome!!!To start, the things you've been signed into, e.g. Facebook or gamecenter, keep you signed in.The graphics are also SO MUCH BETTER, and my device doesn't even have a retina display!!!The monsters, rockets, propellerhats, even the outfit of the doodle itself, are completely new, and, also, SO MUCH BETTER than the Christmas theme on the original.I mean, you just have to glance at the screenshots to get a tiny inkling of a feeling of how EPICALLY AWESOME this game actually is.I could, but cba, to go on.So thanks, Lima Sky, for an APOCALYPTICALLY AWESOME 'update' shall we say!!!=] =] =]

For all you people that are giving one star reviews because it wasn't an update to the original or wasn't in in-app purchase should stop complaining! This is one of my favorite apps on my iPod. I actually like it better then the original. Do you want to know why? Because the graphics are GORGEOUS!!! I like the original to but I love the quality on this one. If you didn't think it was a good deal then why did you buy it? That makes no sense. This should be at least a 4 1/2 star app because most of the reviews I have seen under 4 stars are people that are complaining because they had to pay a whole .99 cents for this app. WHAT?!!?! No WAY! .99??? I'm gonna bankrupt! No. .99 cents isn't gonna kill you. So if you don't have something nice to say about this app then don't say it at all. Unless of course it starts crashing. But Lima Sky has made a great app and it really deserves more then 3 1/2 stars. If you can't see that they made a very good, fun, and addicting app then you are blind! Did you people not even read why this wasn't an update? My guess is probably not. They are doing you a favor. They are giving you a nice and polished app for .99 cents rather then giving you a messy sloppy update to the original. Unless there is some technical problems then this app shouldn't have any more one star reviews. For anyone looking at buying this app, I say go for it! You won't be sorry you bought it. its a good game just like the original, but it says there is future themes for this one, so im ready for themesthere could be a -new years theme with lots of colors and stuff id like to see a theme with a rainbow of colors in it that just sounds cool-maybe like futuristic theme like similar stuff to halo or NOVA-what about a sports theme with football baseball basketball golf all that good jazz-maybe a heavan theme like jump on clouds see gold and stuff-mario theme would be cool but all that mario copyright may be a problem -4th of july would be sweet with fireworksoverall buy it if ur a fan of doole jump this one will be even better when they put more themes on it cant wait!

Great Festive Skin for an amazing game

This a great advanced skin for Doodle jump much more detailed than the others so I can see why it's a separately paid game. Lima Sky (the developers) have updated the original sooooo many times buy still people demand more. It was a great choice to release it like this and I look forward to the coming promised updates. :P If you truly support the development of doodle jump then you can spare a tiny 59p. Good work Lima! :D
