Honestly this game surprised me a bit. I mean yeah it has some glitch issues and can be choppy, buts it's actually done very well. It definitely has a GTA feel to it. It took maybe 3 minutes to download on my iPod touch 4G. Theres always complaints about the game crashing and not downloading. Thats never once happened to me for any download. Anyway I thought I would give this game a review. Eventually this game with have an update and the little bugs will get fixed, but honestly I don't know how long that will take. Anyway, the action is great, you can get ontop of a building and snipe people which is awesome. You can blow up vehicles with any weapon of your choice. Graphics are nice, waaay better than the first. The environment itself is pretty BA. A lot of ground to cover. Umm I don't find this game difficult at all, I do wish you could have your own apartment or house to keep your vehicles saved; but other than that it's a solid game. I try not to be to nit picky when it comes to games on the IPhone/IPod. This was a good buy, looking forward to buying Modern Combat 2 Black Pegasus. A great FPS.

this is a well made game. it did crash twice but its doing fine now. also it did take a while to download. for those saying they deleted it cuz it took to long, i did mine at night and i went to sleep. when i woke up it was ready. just be patient and its worth the wait. it would be nice if there were more weapons and cars. if we could modify them that wpul be cool too. my top request is for houses/apartments we could buy and garages to keep cars. above all that, its a great game.

This is truly an awesome game. I own grand theft auto: Vice City for ps2 and this is a lot like it. This is a great game for an iPhone or iPod touch. Overall, this game is a HUGE improvement over it's successor, gangstar: west coast hustle. Because it's jam packed with new, better, more realistic-looking, light reflecting cars, new characters, new music, new weapons, bigger map, bikes, helicopters, boats, animals (for example crocodiles), jet-skis, and the ability to run faster which gangstar 1 lacked poorly, and lastly but not least you can see very far out when driving or flying a heli. Great advance on the last gangstar! Keep up the good work!

After seeing things like the Epic Citadel demo and Rage demo for iphone 4, things have been looking promising. This game adds to that and proves it is possible to get great substantial gaming with storyline and longevity on the iphone format.The gameplay is the most important aspect, and is essentially exactly the same as a GTA game. You run, shoot, pick up weapons, steal cars etc. The missions are the same too: follow cars undetected, gang shoot outs, delivery missions etc. It's a great little package that the iphone has been in desperate need of.The limitations on things like graphics and animations are still evident, and pop up is rather crazy at times, but the game is so addictive and the environment feels so solid, they aren't that much of an issue.At 381 megs, I personally wouldn't mind seeing bigger games around the 700 - 1gb mark if it meant great gaming with more potential.

For you pathetic "where are the jetskis people, u have to find all the surfboards! Anyways, game is amazing, managed to keep me busy for about 5 hours before I beat the game. Overall, this game is 4.7 stars, it randomly glitches, all my money was taken away when I switched people, so I lost 100 grand, also, I think it was a bit overpriced, $6 at most, and one last bad thing, it was too awesome. I totally recommend this game. :)

When hearing about all the hype this game was getting, I was puzzle because the first one wasn't all that great I stop playing it 3 days after purchase, so of course when I seen this released I was hesitant to buy. I decided to get it so I had something new to do at work, boy was that the right decision, it is nothing like the first one but more like gta vice city stories, I can't believe something like this is on a phone. There's motocycles, boats, cars, helicopters, nice guns, rpg, molotovs, and the free roam is as good as vice city stories. Working train in the game, can no climb over things, even the dialogue and music is pretty good. Overall if your like me and still debating on whether to buy based on the first gangstar, wait no longer and just buy

This Game is so much fun! and alot better than the first Gangstar...but im Tired of people saying "It wont download"...its not apples fault...its your internets fault...and im also tired of people saying "add more missions and make it so we can play online"....LET ME REMIND U PEOPLE....THIS ISNT A XBOX...your [Ipad,ipod touch,or iphone can hold but so much memory......so please calm ur selfs down and rate this 5 stars :)

West coast hustle was a great game and this is definatly betterThe map is larger and more varied than the last one - now featuring aligator infested swampsVechiles are now more varied with several boats, bikes ,helicopters and even a hovercraftLonger story and more side missionsBetter graphicsThe only thing it misses from West Coast Hustle is that there are a strange lack of normal (i.e. the hatchback and the coupe) everyone in this game tends to drive large cars or sports cars or working vechiles(ie taxi,ambulence,delivery car) or the new vechiles.

The story line is just amazing and the content of the game is amazing. I finished it today (2 days after it came out), and it took me a whole 13 hours to finish the campaign without free roaming! This is a huge improvement to the 1st Gangstar in many ways. It is true that it is a little choppy and not super smooth, but it doesn't bother a whole lot. Once you're playing the game and really into it, you won't mind the choppiness. They could have added a lot more polish to it though. I say it's a certain buy for the money. Congratulations Gameloft, this game was one of your top hits, can't wait for Modern Combat Black Pegasus!

Of course there's swearing, idiots. Great game!

First to those complaining about all the swearing. REALLY? You're upset about the swearing, not the constant killing, violence and crime? You are by far some of the stupidest reviewers on the planet. Get your misguided priorities in order people! Of course there's swearing, it's a crime sim/game. What did you think that a car jacker would talk like a kindergarten teacher? Would you prefer that while shooting people in the face the characters said " oh no, you doody head, you made a boo boo on my face"Or " don't be a meany, that's my car you poo poo head" while being shot or jacked!? Morons worried about the language are deeply detached from reality, clearly have no idea what this game is. But that ignorance is just laughable, and should be the least of their concerns. That all said, this is an awesome GTA clone. It's bright, cheesy, funny, action packed, and huge fun. So enjoy playing as a violent criminal in a sprawling Miami area.The cars are shinier, the graphics are greatly improved, and the draw distance is better than the last Gangstar. Worth every penny. And the swearing is totally appropriate considering the games genre. This isn't for kids. So don't be a jag off and complain or rate low because of F carpet bombs. What did you expect? Mario Cart? Great game. Really well done. I really hope there is never any function added to turn the swearing off, that's just so dumb it's beyond comprehension.

Finished the game was too small and easy wish it was longer otherwise amazing, love the graphics on iPhone 4!!!!!:)Update1: no one should be complaining about this game, it's amazing and it's mature rated so def not for you little kids that are crying about coarse language I'm sure you all have played GTA series on PS3 and that's way crazier then this, I hope they update this game with more levels!!!! And ofcourse increase the city size!!!

I hated the first game. You had to either dedicate serious time into the game or have patience to do any of the cool stuff (weapons, rides). With Miami, I get all the things I love about these type of games. The weapons are EASY to acquire (though no cheats) and the open map lets you roam around and find incredibly fun stuff. After stealing a boat, I beached it at some swap with a bunch of rednecks and was eaten by a crocodile.... in the first five minutes of playing the game! That's not following the story... just roaming around. 8 years ago this game would have been GOTY contender for PS2. So much fun and things to do, I truly can't believe I picked up this game on my phone for under ten bucks. It's a great value, and assuming you're a morally depraved gamer like I am, you can't lose with this gem. AWESOME! With this game, Spiderman and a few other recent additions, iPhone is becoming a very respectable gaming platform. Makes me happy to also be a developer.

Okay, so we all know that west coast hustle is poo compared to this. Therefore it's a good game! The story line is great and ( spoiler alert ) the helicopter with the mini gun is AMAZING!!!!!! So far there have been no software problems because it hasn't crashed but a little laggy when a lot of stuff happens at once. but I have a 3gen iPod touch with ISO4 software installed on and the game will and has run fine. So I recommend installing that. (sorry it's so long)

I really love this game! At first I had glitching issues but I put my iPod in recovery mode and rebooted and ever since then it has run fine. Some suggestions though, PLEASE add a HORN and SIREN button to all the vehicles along with police lights so we can use them. Also were can u find the hidden cars such as the hearse, swat truck, and police helicopter after you have finished the game? Anyways this Is a great game and u should definitely buy it!

But WOW I'm pretty glad I bought this game! At first I was like meh at the price and decided to wait. But now I thought about it and might as well give it a try and here I am, writing this review on this awesome game! I only played like a few minutes in the story and I'm already having a lot of fun!! There's just a lot more things to do compared to the first gangstar, and it's one step closer to a good GTA game on the iPod!

I've been waiting for this app patiently for about 3 months now and it finally came out! I was browsing on the app store today and this popped up and I really couldn't believe my eyes.. I thought it was a game guide for another console or something but I clicked on it and it was the official thing from Gameloft :P awesome game love it keep up the good work. And may I suggest a jump button? U can still jump over things by walking into them but a jump button would be fun too :D thanks Gameloft

This game is freakin awesome compared to West Coast Hustle (which should be upgraded to have the graphics level and added features of this game) but it often has severe errors in tallying money correctly, and an error popped up with the guns where you on one gun it permalocked me out of the setting where you have 2 of them firing simultaneously... also needs mods where you can blow up the monorail car/track, and blow up or at least hijack the passenger jets at the airport. Which brings up another thing: there should be features where you can buy SWAT gear like the SWAT team that comes after you have when 5 badges are after you and there should be a 6th level of cops after SWAT you where Homeland Security is after you...there should also be intermittent games being played in the football stadium where you can unleash the grenades, RPGs and flamethrowers on the teams playing and on the spectators...needs more types of people to interact with as well... Latin gangs, gay people, children, elderly people...so it looks like a complete and real area you're playing thru. Some K-9 units for the cops would rule, too. Wish the game creators wouldve opened up some of Miami proper as well...ehh, whatcha gonna do... GREAT game...fix the errors and it'd be cool to attach this game to iOS's Game Center so you can play with or against other real players too. Aside from that this game is like 100x better than West Coast Hustle:)
