I had lost all my equipments after erasing the game from the device.
And I had given up to play the game completely as I couldn't compete in the channels with my winpoint and without my gears.
Got my favorite game back!!
$0.99 items I think is enough to compete even with the expensive gears.
I see a lot of the users complaining about expensive updates...
Come on, the expensive items are not worth the bucks for competition.
Anyways, Good update guys!!

This is a great app! Awesome graphics, good controls and sounds. Very addictive. Couple suggestions: Add more venues and achievements (distance, moving objects, targets, etc.)...more features like the cool 'Crash' on the signs...refined accuracy - balls that are hit out of the park are only 425 feet? Center field should be at least 410! And the pole hits are ALWAYS off - sound doesn't synch with the ball actually hitting the poles. Keep the updates coming!!!

Insanely addicting game... I've managed to get myself into the top 100 in ranked play but am very frustrated in the fact that my friend (when I first got the game) thought it would be funny to make my name "smallpen1s"... I deleted and redownloaded the game, tried to refresh my apps, restart the phone... and still cannot change my name.
cons:
The ball isn't always where it says it is, especially when it has the glow around it (it will seem higher then it really is or farther left/right).
The iron ball is way OP as well as the 2x/3x ball in ranked mode. Get an iron ball and there is no way your opponent can continue his streak or get a 2x/3x ball and go from 10% bar to 60% bar (both of which are random events).
Very frustrating when the pitcher is throwing 74 mph fastballs and then throws 3 102 mph sinkers in a row that appear higher then they really are.
Limited gear to buy. Once you get the blue/red/knight gear it's game over and nothing differentiates you from anyone else.
No unranked multiplayer mode.
No rename character feature.
Incoming calls RUIN online play.
Online rank handicap is way to strong. (Rank 100 losing to a rank 500 drop to 270... seems right until you're searching and you can't find 1 of the 100 people online that won't destroy your rank when you take a loss and you win 5 matches in a row to go up 12 ranks only to lose 1 because opponent gets the 3x ball and hits a sign and you lose 200 ranks).

This is an amazing app. I loved Baseball Superstars, but this app is just awesome. Very nice 3D graphics and animations for cell phone. The hitting mechanics make the game simple, addictive and accessible. The only thing that I would love to see is an extension on the HR Derby basis. The arcade mode is cool and the "fair poles" in RCF & LCF are also nice, but I'd like to see the arcade mode just blown out of proportion. It may not be possible to look like The Bigs' "Pinball Derby" on X360 but hopefully more things will be added in and off the field such as Electronic Arts' earlier MVP Baseball 2005's take on arcade derby with cars and buses behind the fences and tractors, ramps and vortexes on the field. That would be the next step. Other than that, for a couple bucks this game is absolutely worth it.

To the people who are complaining about losing even though the other guy finished after you; Look at your gold balls compared to his. Whoever has more gold balls wins the game. Also you are geting dissxomnected because you have a week 3g/Edge signal. Quit giving the game a bad rating because you are mentally incompentant. This is the BEST game so far in the App store. Please add more complexity to the game to keep us interested though. Love it!!! Buy it NOW!!!

Not much I can add that hasn't been already been said here. Was shopping for an actual baseball sim, but picked this up based on the great reviews and .99 pricetag. Don't regret it for a second. VERY fun. Always satisfying...especially the animations when you really crush one deep. The online element is the best I've seen in an iPhone game, guaranteeing the experience never gets old. No bug problems on my 1st gen iPhone. "Looser" spelling aside...I definitely recommend:)

Slugger, is the ultimate achievement in home-run-derby genera for the devices. There is a reason why you do not see more of this style of game for the iPhone or Touch because no one can top this title. I love this game, playing others online or trying to complete the offline achievements. Everyone I have ever showed this game to absolutely loves it and wants to play head to head. The graphics are a step above the rest and far more polished than other competing baseball titles. The customization features are superb and I am looking forward to any and all future updates made by Com2us. I would like to say my thanks to the developers for producing such a fantastic game with hours of enjoyable replayability.

I just spent most of a Sunday afternoon playing this. My wife finally made me stop! The "leveling up" of your slugger really makes this game work. Now that my alter ego is better equipped I am quickly raising my rank.. I am often saying "just one more game." Controls are smartly implemented and recalibrate automatically before each pitch. Incredibly well done. If you are even remotely interested in baseball you're going to love this one. It's a home run :).

I have hundreds of apps and I can say by far this is one of the most fun games I have played to date! It's a homerun derby you can play arcade style[by yourself] or online aganist other iphoners. You can get rewarded coins for beating various challenges and spend them on gear to beef up dude! FUN FUN FUN! Developer PLEASE ADD A CHAT FUNCTION! Maybe even more challenges to unlock more stuff! Nuff Said! 10/10

I bought this game yesterday and have hardly stooped playing it since! This game should be way more expensive than it is. I bought it for 2.99 but I would have payed 10$ for it. One thing that would make it better though would be if there were a couple of more stadiums to choose from and possibly some of the major league parks like fenway or yankee stadium. That would make this game the best in the app store. Great game if you don't have it you should get it soon.

This game is so tight. I work like crazy and still find time everyday (at least an hour) to rank up my slugger and try to beat it 100%. It's addicting especially when you start upgrading your guy and you see that its easier to hit homeruns. The online function is awesome and is crazy addicting. With wifi its so easy to connect with other players and it never has an error message or problems. The only thing that bothers me is that it uses your battery up hella quick. About 2 hours of straight gameplay, the battery is down to 20% from a full charge. But its all good, and I highly recommend this game to anyone with an Iphone (especially a 3GS)

What a gem this is! very addicting pick up and play type game. Many upgrades to unlock, cool camera angles and awesome multiplayer of 3g. No lag at all and you get a picture in picture view of your opponent. It's really cool! A couple suggestions for future updates, I'd like to be able to change my online name as i made a typo when in entered it, and maybe a chat feature in the online waiting area. I had some great battles with people, but no way to tell them how much fun it was, other than adding them to my rivals. So chat would be cool!

It's still my favorite.

I have to admit that this update has been disappointing. But just because you don't purchase the new updated items, doesn't mean you can't win. I played with couple of users wearing updated items but they couldn't stop me from winning. I don't think updated items matter your winning scores. It's just whether you decorate your character or not. This game IS still my fav. but I hope next update won't be this much disappointing.

I am a big fan of baseball games and I have played a lot of them. Baseball Slugger is a phenomenon. The best out for mobile games.
The 3D graphics is just marvellous and when you make the contact at the ball the feeling of slugging the ball over the fence is just great.
This game is not difficult easy to get used to and great for releiving stress by hitting homeruns.
If you enjoy a bit of challenge join the matchup mode and play with oponents online.
A game I will enjoy for a long time

At first I thought it was mad about the additional gear for purchase. but then I played a few of these players who bought their equipment. let's just say that money can't buy success. it does add another layer of fun for those who practiced and got the gold balls. although better equipment helps, it is no substitute for hard work. earning the gold balls to get the better equipment also makes you a better player in the process. ultimately, at the highest levels, you just can't miss the ball if you want to win. equipment can only do so much.

At how addicting this really is. The arcade mode adds a competative element that keeps you trying to get on the global leaderboard. My only wish is that there was a extra second to prepare between pitches.Update 12/4Been playing for 6 months and still addicted. Quite amazing how realistic the experience is in trying to time/adjust in a split second to hit a baseball coming 100 mph heater one pitch and 85 mps slop the next. Just like the real thing.

This game has forever changed the way I go to the bathroom.

I've bought and downloaded several games since the app store first opened and I've enjoyed playing many of them but Baseball Slugger is the first game that really has me hooked. Both the classic and arcade modes are great (which would make the game worth the price of admission alone) but what really makes this game shine is the online multiplayer mode. It's just so quick, easy and seamless to play against an online opponent I find myself squeezing in a game whenever I find the chance. Highly recommended!

Simply the best game app on the iPhone.

If you are someone who spent more time in the home run derby mode of whatever baseball video game had such a mode (sports jam for dreamcast I am calling you out) or I guess for someone who is more interested in the hr derby contest before the real all-star game (a facebook friend mentioned it would be interesting if it was small market vs. large market teams rather than AL vs NL that that might be a fun experiment and I tend to agree, but I digress) or even for those who remember the b&w match-ups of The Mick and Ralph Kiner, et al. then this is the easiest purchase ever.

Got a little spare time and like multiplayer games? This game is perfect. There is no real end to the game. You just keep improving your ranking by beating opponents in one to two minute games. You can play by yourself in arcade or classic mode, but playing against someone is so much more fun. It can be frustrating when you get beat by someone and drop a thousand spots in rank. It is all point based, an you end up having the same number of points as a a couple hundred other people. When you lose a few points, the swing can be rather large at times. I love this game. It is a go to game when I don't know what I want to play. $.99?!? How can you go wrong. If you can get a return of a dollar an hour for a game, you are doing good. Each hour of enjoyment on this game is now down to the $.10 range. Compare that to going to a movie that runs you $5/hour of entertainment at a minimum!

This app exactly knows how to make people addictied with such kind of iPhone app. It smartly stirs up your emotions like show-off or competing with others. You start off with some gold balls which is game points to unlock baseball equipments. This items make you look and play better. There are like hundreds of items you can play with. But to try them you need enough gold balls. Big amount of gold balls are given at a point when you reach higher levels. With better items you are at better position to defeat rivals and get more winning points.
