Reviews:
So good that I would pay for it! By: The Iron_Throne - Oct 28, 2008 Version: 1.0.1 This is classic Risk on your iPhone! This game is great, it is very responsive to even my huge fingers, and runs quickly. I wish it was harder, but some of the bots show good strategic planning while other just rampage. It would be nice if you could set the reinforcement numbers lower so the end of the game isn't always just gobbling up weaker players to get their cards and sweeping the board.
Love it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! By: Stickmanjav - Apr 22, 2009 Version: 1.0.1 Ok here's what I think. 1. Make lux dlx cheaper!!! cheaper!!! cheaper!!!. 2. I think you should add more maps you play on in the dlx to the free version so you know what the full dlx. I'm not asking for all the maps just 1 or maybe even 2 maps.3. Add an option to the free version that allows us the people who want to buy and download your app to switch the difficulty when it gets too easy on easy.Thank you for reading this.
Amazing By: Bwherman - Oct 15, 2008 Version: 1.0.1 Stumbled across this the other day and installed it. I wasn't sure what to expect but this games rocks. To the developers, I would like the option for a short or long game. The version out now is the short game and I love it. Where else can you play a game of risk in 5 minutes? A long game should let you save your progress, place your initial armies, and see your cards. Multiplayer would obviously be nice as well. Thanks for the fun app!
Wow! Excellent By: Rolloc - 21-Dec-2008 Version: 1.0.1 Now THIS is an excellent implementation of the game I know as Risk. Gameplay works very smoothly and very well. It is everything that the other game like this isn't. That game, Virtual Conquest is an utter disaster.
This on the other hand is a delight to play. Easy to see who has what territory. Easy and intuitive to attack and fortify without the umpteen dialogs that the other game has. Easy to add and move armies and fortify them at the end of each turn.
My only criticism is that I can only switch off the sound by turning the volume off. I would like to tap the globe to access prefetences and be able to choose to switch off the sound. I don't really want the sound of gunfire echoing around the place if I'm playing it on a bus or train or in a coffee shop or airport lounge!
But that's a minor concern. This is a great game.
P.S. For those who don't realise it, you place large numbers of armies quickly just by keeping your finger engaged with the screen. Attacking works the same way too.
My favorite app! By: Bendy82 - 01-Dec-2008 Version: 1.0.1 I've had my iPhone a couple of months now and downloaded quite a few apps. Lux is easily the best out of all of them and the only one I have felt compelled to write a review for. Not without it's faults as people have mentioned. It would be nice to be able to save your game and a cap on how many armies you get per turn should make the game more competitve. If you're struggling with it then open safari and visit the website. There are detailed instructions on how to play. It's not hard but it can appear a little random until you read the rules.Looking forward to the deluxe but it's taking ages!!!
Fun Game By: nycman2533 - Oct 15, 2008 Version: 1.0 How To Play
Here's a quick rundown of how to play since I saw a few posts on people confused on what to do
The goal of the fame is to take over the whole world with the Blue Army
Take out one country each turn at the beginning of the game. You will get a card each turn if you do this. After collecting enough cards you will get an option to collect and beef up your army. See next step for this
Build up your army and do not waste your weapons at the beginning. You should save your army for battles later on. I like to build up my armies in multiple spots
In order to take over a country you need a higher number in your Army Unit and vice versa.
Australia is a nice continent to take over and puts you in good position to take over Europe and Asia
As the game progresses look for a Color Army that is weak and take them out. You will then get their army members
Also each continent you have secured at the begiinning of your turn gives you a bonus. Press the Bonus Key for the points that each continent gives you
When you are done with your turn press Fortify to lend Army members to help you guard other countries
Hopefully this helps some people out
Good luck
Love it! By: Frooggg - 18-Dec-2008 Version: 1.0.1 So addictive I love the way it keeps you hooked because it can go in anyones favour at anytime so you have to be ready and take chances. I always take over Europe Asia Africa and Australia first cause they are easiest to capture for me! Won twice played it loads of time! It's addictive yet always so unpredictable! The only thing it lacks is the option to save high scores. Oh well gets my vote cause I love it!
RULEZ!! By: Narthex - Feb 11, 2009 Version: 1.0.1 I like this game very much. At the time I am writing it doesn't save your game, and you do have to go to the website to get the instructions, but it's actually the best game on my iPhone right now. Monkeyball got boring fast. Cro-Mag and the Motorcycle game were 5 minute wonders for me (I'm a 34 year old guy looking for something a bit more engaging). This game is very fun. The only thing is that after a few times through I am beating it consistently. Looking forward to "Lux Delux" which is coming "before Christmas"!
$7.99? Are U Kidding Me? By: Loqutis - Apr 13, 2009 Version: 1.0.1 This FREE version is AWESOME! I play it EVERY DAY. I would LOVE to get the DLX, but R U kidding me? $7.99? Even Enigmo is only $3.99!DON'T YOU EVER READ YOUR REVIEWS? LOOK AT HOW MANY PEOPLE ARE LOOKING TO BUY THE FULL VERSION IF ONLY YOU LOWERED THE PRICE TO A REASONABLE PRICE POINT!!!I bet you would sell a LOT more units if you lowered the price point. You would easily make up in volume what you lose in lowering the price. Just look at how many reviews you have on this app vs. DLX! Why not convert them to buyers by lowering the price?! Think on it...Otherwise, this is a brilliant game. One of my all time favorites! GREAT JOB!!!I am rating this app 5 Stars with two enthusiastic thumbs WAAAAY up!I would love to see an update where you can save the game in progress in case if phone call, text or a much needed rest! Also, statistical records of wins, losses, number if rounds, etc. would be awesome!I did not think it fair to lower the rating of this app because of the price point of the DLX version, but I DID contemplate it...RESISTANCE IS FUTILE!
Little bit more.... By: Då®K LåMéñ† - 10-Dec-2008 Version: 1.0.1 This game is just amazing in the way that it eats up your time. Graphics are good, gameplay is good, there are just a few niggles. Firstly is the AI, which is... Easy at best. And the instructions which are...n't there. For a free version, you can't really expect anything TOO advanced like the AI, but some instructions would be nice. Knowing how the cards work would have been nice in the long run, as well. BUT! It's a fantastic little time waster that's really involving, if you like strategy. ^_^

UPDATE PLEASE!! By: Theperfectjez - 03-Feb-2009 Version: 1.0.1 Brilliant game, highly adictive, but needs some work. (1) The obvious, the game needs to save when you leave and give the option to resume when you come back in. (2) Different difficulties. (3) Tutorial or better instructions. (4) Multiplayer modes, online and on one phone. (5) Choose colour. (6) Different maps. (7) Quicker army movements when you have 100 units in one country it is slow to move/reinforce. (8) Menu system. (9) Endgame statistics. (10) A timer for how much of my life I have wasted playing this awesome app!
Get it.. Even without the update it is an AWESOME game!

Risk for the iPhone By: Elmyr - Oct 21, 2008 Version: 1.0.1 Highly polished (especially when compared with Virtual Conquest) and extremely addictive. Already one of the best iPhone games regardless of price. Obviously the save game feature and difficulty settings are reserved for Lux DLX, but better documentation for Lux neophytes would be nice, as would a tutorial mode. Otherwise a great showcase for Lux DLX -- now surely one of the most eagerly awaited games releases!
Great Game! By: Taylor3006 - Oct 29, 2008 Version: 1.0.1 I find myself playing this game all the time. As a fan of the game of Risk, Lux is a very good clone. I only have one real complaint about initial setup. I have no problem with random map distribution at the beginning. I do have a problem with random army distribution. This leads to some aggravating situations at the beginning of some games. I think some good updates to the game would be to allow picking of countries and allowing you to place your armies instead of the willy nilly distribution the AI decides. This is a minor thing and does not detract from the fun of the game. I have had no problems running the program, functions quite well. I do believe the AI cheats sometimes but that is neither here nor there. Great game and I look forward to any updates!
Best free app By: ~Jezza~ - 17-Jan-2009 Version: 1.0.1 This app is great until the full version comes out. But the could at least have different difficulties a tutorial and pause/restart ect menu. One thing I loved was the personalities of the colours. Like red always evens it's armies out and only move like once at a time, this does come with one flaw though. The AI can be really predictable depending on you colour.
Overall pretty much the best free itouch app out
A must have
PS some people will find it way too hard
If you like the board game "RISK" this is for you. By: sayantou - 08-Jan-2009 Version: 1.0.1 The game is fairly similar to what I know as the "RISK" board game. It's a lot of fun and as with the board game it takes a bit of a luck but a lot of brain to play. That's why I like it a lot. I think this version worth some proper money if the games are saveable and add a simple instruction to it for those lazy ones who doesn't wanna check out the website about how the game is actually set-up...
Fix this quick! By: CADaholic - Dec 10, 2008 Version: 1.0.1 I played this for about 20 mins. Then got a phone call- hey go figure a phone call -and it didn't save the game progress. Instead it just started over! That can be ok for some games but not a Risk style game that after 20-30 mins or more it just starts over due to a phone call!!! Other than that and the lack of instructions this is an ok game. But I would not have gotten it if it was not free and I will not play it again until I know that a phone call will not end a game.
Amazing!! By: Senor Beast - Feb 8, 2009 Version: 1.0.1 I love this app. This is my favorite app, and probably the most used one on my ipod touch, and i use a lot of apps. Fun Factor: 5- Lux Touch is simple, yet challenging, and very addictive. Ease of Use: 5- Lux Touch is very simple, yet challenging. Graphics: 5- Everything is smooth, nice fluid bright colors. Controls: 4.5- There's really no way to mess up the game so the controls are fine. Price to Game Greatness: 5- It's Free and Lux Touch is amazing! This game is amazing, I wish the delux version was free as well, but then Sillysoft Games probably couldn't make any more great games. Hopefully one day we'll see games similar to: monopoly, stratego, settlers of catan or some other great board games; and of course with thier free/lite versions.

Great By: [M]yth - 5-Jan-2009 Version: 1.0.1 The only flaw is the no saving option.
I've found out that the
Green is a protective fighter, likes to keep continents.
Yellow expands untill he cannot attack
Red kills one country per turn, uses same number of armies on each country he has when he can. When he thinks he can win, he attacks everyone untill he has 1 army per country sometimes in a 1-13 fight
Black gets all his armies in one country and when he's ready he attack like the green
These were my observations. I think everyone has found out the same. If this helped you win more, no problem! =D
Oh and this game owns.
Best Iphone Game By: Makara-san - 11-Nov-2008 Version: 1.0.1 I've had this for a couple of weeks and still play it daily, very addictive as it's so easy to pick up for a quick game. Starts off reasonably difficult but once you get the hang of it, it soon becomes much easier. One slight annoyance is the battle imbalance at the start of a game, you can sometimes lose a lot of armies when fighting a much smaller force. It balances slightly when it works in your favour, but I'd rather it was more predictable...Can't wait for the full version, as long as it's sensibly priced.
