Reviews:
great game By: Gshark - 4-Sep-2010 Version: 1.0.0 needs franchise mode!!! I own 2010 and wasn't going to buy this one but I am very glad I did I definite improvement over last year!! the graphics are beter and the gameplay is more complete it feels like a console version. -2010 there was a saving problem I haven't found any problems like that so far-2010 had a problem with simple screen passes being droped all the time that was inproved-I love after every scoring drive it tells you the yards the time and the pass/run plays/yards! I was very disapointed to see 2010 removed from iTunes I deleted it for space for the new one now i cant get it back but because of the amazing gameplay I wouldn't ever play the old one anyway
Awesome Football game! By: EricSam - Aug 16, 2010 Version: 1.0.0 This game is not perfect but it still deserves a 5 star rating the game play is solid plays out so well it's like playing on a console extremely smooth I am sure it helps being on the new iPhone 4.Don't panic: This game froze once on me in mid game but with a quick restart the game picked up exactly where I left off so the game saving works perfectly no matter the situation or upcoming calls.NFL 2011 yes has the better graphics but it's not all about looks had problems and glitches like passing that still needs to be resolved and no multiplayer. But it's not terrible.I definitely didn't regret buying this game price tag and all. Madden 11 is the winner!
I changed my mind By: Bliddack - Sep 10, 2010 Version: 1.0.0 I bought NFL 11 first and thought it no way madden can top it. The graphics n animations are incredible in NFL 11. When u play it for the first few games or so it amazes you. But after a while u begin to seethe mistakes and they really irritate u. It plays it self for most the game. Defense is impossible. Defenders just stand around lookin clueless. Theres cool diving catch animations. But u don't feel in control of them u end up feeling like ur just watching for most of it. Then I bought this once price went down to 5 dollars. And this is the real deal. It has a bigger playbook then nfl 11. NFL 11 still had way better animations especially when tackling. But this game just feels better and more real. U feel and are in control of ur player. User interceptions and deflections are possible and more accessible then gamelofts offering. Gameflow is great to quicken the game up a Lil. It works identically to console version of it. I like the speed of gameplay better than nfl11. It's faster. NFL 11 has better graphics when comes to player models and animations but the stadiums n lights n crowd look better on madden. Tdc is a cool feature but complicated in I fill a bit to much. Unrealistic to me as if this game ain't have enuff slo mo or pause features. But it is cool to b able to change any defensive players route on the fly. At the end of the day I give the nod to madden over NFL 11 its more real and authentic. NFL 11 just has a lot o wow factor moment because o its animations but really Is a poorly put together game after u spend time with it. Madden get five stars NFL 11 gets 3. Sorry I doubted u ea. Keep up good work. And wifi would be great. Forget Bluetooth that whack
Great Game!!! By: JoshuaJoffrion - Aug 15, 2010 Version: 1.0.0 The game finally downloaded after waiting a whole day. I got an error message saying that it would be available after I logged into iTunes on my PC but I clicked the "Retry" button and a short time later, I threw a touchdown to Devery Henderson in the Superdome.Worth the money, kinda reminds you of the earlier Nintendo DS versions of Madden except those were $30.00.Glad it finally works.Who Dat, Two Dat, Gesux Saints!!!Twitter.com/saintscenter
You Will Not Believe It Till You Buy It!!! By: AJAY!! - Aug 14, 2010 Version: 1.0.0 this game is seriously worth buying. Why go out and by the game for like PS3 for 60.00 bucks when you can basically get the same thing on your Iphone for only 6.99?? I thought it wouldn't be any good till i read the reviews and i believe them now cuz it ROCKS!! I have never played a football game like that in my life. Don't second guess it just go buy it and you'll see what i'm talking about lol. ;-)
Well done. By: Murph. E. Slaw - Aug 14, 2010 Version: 1.0.0 What you are holding in your hands is not an Xbox or Playstation, so, don't compare it to those versions. And don't give it a bad rating because it crashes or won't run. Reviews are meant for how the game PLAYS. If the game crashes, file a complaint. Or you could re-start your device, free up some memory, or upgrade your O.S. I have an older iPod touch, and it runs fine, so you gotta be doing something wrong. And if you think the price is too high, don't buy it. Stick with your $60.00 Playstation game. And for all you morons bragging about jailbraking your device and stealing the game, I hope you get a nasty rash. What goes around, comes around.
Love it, but still too easy By: rifnas - Sep 2, 2010 Version: 1.0.0 Great game, needs multiplayer via wifi though so you could really test your mettle against other players. When playing against the computer I would bring the ai up about 10 notches cause I've gone undefeated on the all madden level twice now, and don't see a difference between madden 10 and 11 in that regard. All in all though still a wonderful game, that I would recommend and kudos to ea for bringing this wonderful franchise to the iOS.
Best iPhone football out there By: Rogerfreakinrabbit - Aug 13, 2010 Version: 1.0.0 Way better than NCAA game, although I am a college football fan(go utes!!) over NFL because universities contribute something conducive to the progress of society but what the hell it's football and madden NFL 2011 is sure to deliver! I only wish matchmaking was available, maybe not full game match making but like one quarter at least. I give 5 stars because this is by far the best sports gameOn iPhone hands down!!!!!! Yeah it has issues but it's on a bloody phone!!! 5 years ago you were playing snake!!! So be a man and stop complaining about retarded glitches.
Excellent game with one annoying bug... By: Matt in Arkansas - Aug 29, 2010 Version: 1.0.0 Overall, a very good execution of a football game. Like some have said before, it's a bit annoying when a lineman catches your running back/receiver from behind, but I'll get over that. One noticed bug: when I receive a phone call during gameplay, the game loses sound and does not get it back until I restart the phone. Quite annoying, so hopefully an update will address it. The ability to use hot routes and manage the defense during a play is fantastic, and does add a bit of realism to the game. Overall, well worth the money.
Worth the $$ By: Havocnogbog - Aug 12, 2010 Version: 1.0.0 Sold my XBOX 360 because I was tired of shelling out $60 for false hopes and dreams with EA. But, this game delivers what is to be expected. The controls are going to take some getting used to. But, that's expected when switching "consoles."You can only ask so much from a game you download to your cellphone. But if possible, franchise mode would be nice someday. The game plays with the knowledge of the next gen games. But, to the accuracy of the ps2 installments. That's not exactly a bad thing. My decision to sell my XBOX but to consider this game pretty much goes like this: I'd rather drive a Pinto that never fails me than an Escalade that malfunctions intermittently.Like I said, I've only played one game. But, it ran smoothly. I was introduced to the controls. I threw touchdowns to Pierre Garçon and Reggie Wayne. And, if it wasn't for the noob confusion, it would have been fun.The lasting impressions of this game will rely on whether or not you can develop the ability to read the defense when dropping back. Because, right now all I'm doing is pressing when they're yellow or green (and red once or twice under pressure). All in all, this game delivers a football experience on the mobile phone. For the record, I lost my game. Not because I couldn't execute. Because the apposing team drove the field in the last minute and a half of the game. Not something you would have seen in the 360 version circa 8-10.(update)I've spent a lot of time playing this game now and my previous comments hold true. Two things this game needs that could be solved in an update.#1. Four minute games. 3 is too short and five can get a little long.#2. A more "classic" style camera angle. This game actually plays REALLY well. But, you can't usually make more than one read passing the ball because you can't see the whole field. An angle similar to that of which you create hot routes would be superb. Thanks, EA!

As good as the PSP Madden By: seanofthedead90 - Aug 24, 2010 Version: 1.0.0 I bought both NFL 2010 and Madden 10 last summer and...well...let's just say they didn't last too long on my phone. I was pretty hesitant about spending more money on Madden before I read the positive reviews, so I gave it a shot. Boy am I glad I did. Passing, running, controls, animations, stadiums, commentary--everything is improved and MUCH improved. I personally didn't enjoy Madden 10 at all, but this one is great. It has very impressive visuals on my iPhone 4, and controls well and is darn fun too. Highly recommended.
Awesome, but... By: Ninersean - Aug 12, 2010 Version: 1.0.0 Love the game and is an improvement on the 10 version, but in the All Madden mode too many pass interference calls are made. The jogging animations after the play are horrible. And why are the 49ers playing day games @ Candlestick Park at 9 in the morning? The players run to the wrong sideline after scoring. In the All Madden mode they need to move the scoreboard out of the left upper corner because every time i throw to the left I inadvertently hit the pause button. All Madden mode is too hard, but I was one of those that said Madden 10 was too easy and this is their answer!
Great By: Sanj52 - Aug 23, 2010 Version: 1.0.0 This is an amazing game. All of those bad reviews are bogus, this game is alot better than Madden 10.Graphics are alot better too, and the scoreboard has changed so the sreen is alot less crowded.Only 2 promblems:STILL no instant replay...that would be a huge upgrade.Needs “challenge play” featureOther than that, amazing game. Its argueably the best game ea sportd has made for Itouch/iphone/ipad
Well worth the wait (and the $7.99)! By: historyvoice - Aug 11, 2010 Version: 1.0.0 All the complainers in this forum must be out of their minds. It's a good thing Gameloft's NFL 11 got a week's jump on EA, because that game is pretty good, but Madden 11 is great! Graphics and gameplay are top-notch and a 100% improvement over Madden 10. I've been playing video football since Tecmo Bowl, so it takes a lot to impress me, and this game is extraordinary. I had no idea my iPhone could do this; playing this game is like having a console in your pocket. The options for depth of gameplay are incredible. You can play this as simply or as detailed as you want; as a pick-up-and-play arcade game or as a full-on simulation. For the folks having lag/crash problems, try updating/rebooting your device or uninstall/reinstall from your computer. This game runs flawlessly on my iPhone 3GS with iOS 4. I'd love to have seen NCAA 11 built with this engine rather than being just a clone of last year's Madden. Multiplayer would be nice, and it may be coming, but in the meantime, major kudos to EA!
The real deal... By: souljacker.night - Aug 10, 2010 Version: 1.0.0 Okay, sooo, I'm like a natural born skeptic. My buddy told me to down load this game, and I was like fine, but I already have Madden 10. Anyway, omg this game not only looks wicked reee-dic-u-lous on the iPhone four, sooo sweeet, but it plays even better. Love the authentic attention to detail. Totally pulls you in, the announcers, the players, the plays! Best eight bones plunked down this week. Happy about the buy!
I've been waiting a long time for this! By: DXbeeeeeezy - Aug 10, 2010 Version: 1.0.0 Finally EA Sports releases the highly anticipated Madden NFL 11 game! This game has a few improvements from it's last version, Madden NFL 10 as to the graphics, gameplay, and overall the replay value! I appreciate the new reactions from the crowd and announcers and the Madden Shop as well as the player graphics and detail put into it. The defense update adds slow-motion capability and allows players to quickly access each player on their team's attributes. I hope there are more updates in the future. But overall this game is slick! Rating: 9.5/10
Awesome !!!! But... By: Pitbull1980 - Aug 10, 2010 Version: 1.0.0 Great job by EA to bring this game to the app store same day as console launch! Do this more often will spell big success for EA and the app store. That said this game looks amazing, especially on the iPhone 4. The gameplay and ability to manipulate players before the play is perfect. One drawback is, though this game graphically looks amazing the collisions during tackles don't seem as smooth as game lofts NFL 11. Also when changing weather conditions to snow the frame rate seems to suffer. That aside this is the best football game for any phone period and is well worth the buy at 7.99. If you have an iPhone 4 this game seems to already be optimized as it looks great on the retina display. I really give this game like 4 1/2 stars until the frame rate is fixed during certain weather otherwise, Get this game you won't be sorry
Awesome Game But Needs PLAY CLOCK!!! By: squtternutbosh77 - Sep 14, 2010 Version: 1.0.0 Got the game on sale for $5 and its totally worth it. The regular price of $8 is a bit much even if what Im about to mention are added. To be a 5 star game, IMO, it needs a few things. Some major, some minor.1. Needs A Play Clock. This is a major need, I think. A play clock should be a stardard thing in the game. How could there be no play clock?2. Roster Update. The season has started and there's still no update for the 53 man rosters for Week 1.3. No Huddle. The CPU has the ability to do no huddle offense but the human cant? Maybe there is a way to do it and I just havent figured it out. If there isnt a way, there needs to be made a way.4. Alternate Jersey Additions. I like the option of chosing the throw back jerseys but the addition of alternate jerseys would be nice. An example being, the Denver Broncos have alternate orange jerseys. It is not available, only the old throw back orange jerseys are.5. WiFi Multiplayer. Bluetooth is nice but you cant play people across the US with it.6. Cut Down the Price. Im sorry but $8 is way to much, IMO. If there was never a sale on the game, Id never would have bought it. The sale price of $5 is great, even $6 would be acceptable.Other than those things, the game is awesome. One wouldnt think a game to be played on a mobile phone would have so much detail, but it does. EA once again shows why Madden is the best football game franchise out there, be it on a gaming console or a cell phone.
Not bad By: Crazy lad - Aug 16, 2010 Version: 1.0.0 Madden 11 is getting better every year! But the graphics always stay the same!! Sure NFL 2011 doesn't have multiplayer but with madden u have to be sitting right next to each other and sometimes that even doesn't work!! Madden also took a day to load! I bought it and it loaded half way fast but then I had to restart it four times before it loaded!! Anyway the gameflo's nice but NFL 2011's the better game.
Pretty good. By: Dmanboy - Aug 15, 2010 Version: 1.0.0 I love the gameplay and everything but I wish it had the create a player and the create a team and fans and stuff. That's what I thought was really cool bout da madden 4 da consoles. So when u add u get
