Suggestions By: byronint - Jan 25, 2009 Version: 1.1 This is my favorite app. Just some ideas that would make it even better.
1 small map like the www version.
2 items to pick up and return to base.
3 selectable engine power. I'd like a slower pace sometimes.
4 larger area to explore. Randomness in the locations of mountains would be nice.
5 less sensitive accerometer. It is difficult to hold the phone steady to be perched on a position while glancing away for a couple seconds. Double the degrees tilt from stopped red to full green. Or as a setting.
6 view stays forward longer rather than switch to backward when just starting to back up. Maybe the transition could be through overhead view.
7 generated world. Maybe a mirror image. Or make some of the ridges into deep canyons.
Overall this is really a well done simulation. Keep up the good work.
For those considering purchase, it seems to rank quite high on the playability scale.

The awesome widget IN MY POCKET! By: Tanimoti - Dec 12, 2008 Version: 1.0 First review! Ok, so about four months ago, I discovered Mars Xplr. Since then, It's been updated from a little mars roving game, To a whole community of mars-exploring battlers. I love this app because even without the multiplayer, there's something soothingly therapeutic about getting in my buggy and flying through the winding canyons and lavaflows. All I can say: THANKS AUBREY FOR MAKING THIS HAPPEN FROM THE VERY BEGINNING!
Wow! What an App. By: Vingg - Mar 5, 2009 Version: 1.2 First off, i'm so glad this is finally an ipod/iphone app. It's my favorite online game. Now Here comes the criticism: 1. Needs the glitches like in the computer version that allow you to get on top of the volcano and then into space. 2. The accelerometer controls can be a little bit smoother. 3. Definitely hope there is a bot/multiplayer option coming out. Otherwise, this is the perfect Iphone app. P.S. - The 1.1 update is a huge improvement. Definitely buy this app.
Some things By: Jakeup42 - Jan 4, 2009 Version: 1.1 One thing I had the mist trouble with is the controls. I wish there was a gas button because it hard to play the game while tilting the screen away from u. Every thing else besides that is great. MultiplAyer would be great maybe with chat along with it. Also increase the power of the dune buggy up hill I was going up to the top of the volcano and my back tires went on a steep hill and then I couldent even have a fighting chance of getting back up so I fell all the way you the bottom. Good game overall please take my suggestions in to cosideration
FINALY ITS HERE!!!!!!! My favorite online game! By: Alex. B - Dec 13, 2008 Version: 1.0 I was soooooooooo happy when I typed in "Mars" for the 50th time on the app store and saw the app was here!
First, on the app, and on the website, it shows a planet with a ring around it. But mars does not have a ring! Why is it that this ring is there? Two, I hope that 2.0 comes out so that you can add bots, play multi-player, etc. soon! One more thing the app needs is some way so that on the bottom, it will show you what your heading is (ie. 245, 314, etc.) so that you can find your way around with a little bit more ease. The "world" in the app seams to be new. Will this world be added to the desktop version in the next update? That would be cool! Lastly, it needs the mini-map!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Good news for all of you. By: Ferb12321 - Sep 27, 2009 Version: 1.2 This is a great app, and the controls can be hard at some times, but the developer aubrey said that he was making a way to contol accleration using on screen buttons/sliders. I hope this app gets to top 25 after the update.
