Game dominates

Super addicting, could play it for hours. Far superior to the original PQ on the App Store; don't even bother comparing the two. If you like match-3 games AT ALL, i.e. Bejeweled, you must pick this up. Yes it adds the RPG element, but i'm not even an RPG fan and am pretty into it. Can pretty much play thru without having to modify weapons, armor, spells - which is great for folks like me who are lazy. But it allows for ridiculous customization if you're into that. DOPE!

The price seems a little steep at first glance, but this is a *huge* game with tons of story content, character development, itemization, and the match-3 style battles between you and each AI opponent has a lot of tactical decisions, so the gameplay stays fun and fresh. In total feel, this reminds me of Atlantica Online, in that it's a hybrid of a typical RPG game, but the battles are turn-based strategy decisions rather than simple auto-attack with cooldown timers on special abilities. It's hard to describe adequately, so go to the Developer's site through the link in the AppStore and watch their gameplay video. Pay special attention to the second battle (with the goblin) because that shows how the turn-based gameplay and "spells and weapons" work during battle. The UI and graphics are streamlined and attractive. Really, this is a great gameplay experience with many, many hours of content, so it's well worth the asking price.

Definitely a fun and interesting game, and a decent follow up to the original. However, the iPhone port has some problems. For starters, text is too small. Second, it's not entirely stable yet. I get pretty consistent crashes that force me to redraft the phone to clear up. A few glitches too; like the text for weapons when you use them doesn't display the full correct weapon name. Some of the descriptions on spells or buffs/debuffs are lacking as well. Also seems like it could have been retina display grade, but for some reason it isn't. If they can fix some of the bugs and interface issues I'll give more than four stars.

This is a very nice game. It has been worth the wait for the iPhone version.BUT, the buttons on the iPhone are just too darn small.The little status icon buttons are impossible to decipher, and impossible to click to understand what the icon represents, or get an effect's status. The buttons on the world map are also too small. AND the buttons to confim spell casting are too small as well, but at least those are clickable.Please increase the clarity of the status icons, and their clickable size.

I loved the first Puzzle Quest. Have it for iOS and Nintendo DS. This game decompresses to 1.20GB after installation because its universal. The load times can be long (5 seconds or more) and the dialog boxes are a bit small on the iphone...increasing the size wouldn't sacrifice any screen estate IMO. It really needs the multiplayer aspect though. PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE add multiplayer (Game Center enabled online) in a future update and if possible, more classes like in the first Puzzle Quest. I would even buy multiplayer as an IAP!

This game is going to eat all of my free time, just like the first one did on my DS. Love the new mini games and mechanics.However, something needs to be done about the insane loading times *between screens* because there's no good excuse for how long that tends to take. I would be shocked if anyone profiled this with Instruments prior to release. It's that bad.The only other performance issue I've seen is a slight pause when clearing jewels. Nothing major, but noticeable.The only reason this isn't a 5-star title is the loading performance issue. Otherwise, a great showing.

this game is very cool, but on my 3gen 32 ipod(and I believe this is true for 4Gen devices) it has several serious issues:- LOADING TIME between zones in quest mode, sometimes it is enough time for a cup of coffee(which is ridiculous because graphics is very simple and I think this happens because of dumb porting)- navigation through world is very slow and dumb and you can not skip some parts of the text,which also ruins experience - because those parts were meant to be quick - because puzzle battles are the main part of the game - who really cares about details of those "missions" ))- some MENUS are VERY VERY VERY SMALL for the fingers and eyes;- some visual elements on the screen are useless because you CAN NOT SEE anything;Overall this nice game was ported badly and it simply wants to ruin your eyes.This game isn't cheap for app store so I think it could have been done better than this.PS also while playing puzzle battle there was a glitch once - the words like "opponent starts the battle" or something like this where hanging frozen on the screen through entire battle.

I loved Puzzle Quest on the DS. It almost became my sole reason for owning one. Unfortunately this iPhone version has one or two things stopping it from being brilliant. Firstly, it looks a little rough on the Retina display. I guess they were struggling with file size, as it's a whopper. However, it wouldn't take much to improve the text and icon resolution, and it would help out a lot. Then there's the tiny, tiny icons. They're very easy to miss and very difficult to press. Again, sharper grahics might help this a little.But the gem game, it's brilliant. The gameplay has been finessed not bastardised like Galatrix. It's as wonderful as it ever was and I appreciate them giving up as much screen space as they could for the gem grid. It's a great puzzle game to play.Smarten up the adventure section guys, and I'll love you long time.

If you aren't familiar with the Puzzle Quest series, they are basically match-3 games with competitive and RPG elements. Puzzle Quest 2 provides a heck of a lot more gameplay than a lot of other apps and it has a quirky sense of humour throughout. The only real problems with the game are the occasional crash or freeze - and as with most of the more time intensive iOS games it would definitely benefit from ability to play your own music while you play.As it is though, Puzzle Quest 2 is one of the few big games I've bought which didn't leave me feeling disappointed - it's definitely worth the cash.

As expected from Puzzle Quest, the match-three gameplay is unparallel. Fans of PQ1 will definitely enjoy the core gameplay. You might miss a few of the elements from the old game but this is definitely more streamlined than PQ1. The iPhone version suffers from the the small screen and lack of support for the retina display. The game really shines on the iPad, probably because the game is made for the desktop. Loading between screens is pretty slow. And the game sometimes force you to wait a few seconds for messages to disappear before you can move. This drastically increase the waiting time between action. I guess the developers can and will fix this in the next version. All in all, if you like match-three games with a RPG twist, this is it.

All the joy of the xbox360 version and now I don't need to sit in front of the TV. The pace is a little slow in the adventure mode because you need to watch the quest complete updates but, other than that, I'm not seeing other peoples slowdown issues on iPad. Great game, lots of value, more fun than the first one.

This is Hands Down my Favorite Game on the IPad!!I also have the First version of this Title but this one blows it away!!Yes...it loads SLOW but it's totally worth it!!There is So much to this game it can't be described here.It's Like 5 games in one!Any negatives can be laid to rest now!I don't work for the company,I just play games.Get this game and enjoy!

Because I bought this game! It's fantastic. I've lost many hours already. Deep, engaging, thank you developers!I have one small pet peeve. I dont like those arrow hints during the match 3 battles. I turn them off, but every time I reopen the game, I have go do it again. Can you make this setting stable?Thank you again. This game was well worth the price of entry.

This game is a bit expensive, but the game is otherwise great. There are so e performance issues, but none that affect the game seriously. The game itself is an RPG with match-3 fights instead of your typical menus. The mashup is a lot of fun!

This is such a sick game. I read somewhere that this game takes about 50 hours to complete. This world is huge and there are so many good encounters with cool bosses. Don't be fooled, this game takes a lot of skill and is the most epic game you can get on your iPhone. Namco really can't do wrong when it comes to mobile phones.
