If you like this sort of game, you'll find getting the full version very hard to resist after trying the lite version. This isn't just some little game knocked up in a teenager's bedroom: it's a lavish piece of work that's full of depth in its development, from the stunning opening 3D world that unfolds when you start playing, to the music, to the utterly professional design of every bit of this game. It reeks quality. It has the same kind of immersive quality as ToyBot Story, so if you like that, you'll probably like this too. Very few lite apps make me go on to spend real money but this is one of 'em.

This is probably one of the best free games that has been released. It has plenty of levels in the main game, as well as a few really good, extra-long secret levels, and so has a lot more content than most lite games. The rolandos are cute and the gameplay is great, with the controls working perfectly for the ipod touch. I'm probably going to buy the full version and I recommend that everyone at least downloads the lite version to see how good it really is.

I was browsing the app store and found this "demo" for Rolando and decided why not give it a try. I've played lots of games for the iPhone and they all seem okay but there's really nothing that stood out, nothing that felt like a real platform game. Until Rolando! This is THE iPhone game to get. I'm about to hop over and buy the full version right now and I'm confidet a lot of people will after trying the demo. The controls are creative and easy to do, the sounds are adorable and halarious, the story is highly imaginative, the graphics are wonderful and very bright and colorful, this game is.... Dare I say... PERFECT! If you were to buy one iPhone game, this should be it!

The whining gets so annoying.

Seriously. This game could easily go for $20 dollars or more on a standard halfheld console. I was happy to pay the $10 it was when it came out. The incessant whining about the price of anything above "free" is so annoying and no one is taking note of your plea. The fact that someone would complain about measly $1-$5 prices on apps is crazy. It shows how many children these days are over privaleged and that their indulgent parents bought them a +$200 phone. Get a job and pay your own phone bill or iTunes account and then maybe you can litter review space with your bloody whining.

I just realized I have Emoji on my iPod Touch! ©® A must have... Perfect game... I have never seen something as addictive as this... The Rolando's are sooo funny... And one whole world that's 10 levels (out of four worlds in the full version) for the Lite version... Awesome... I love the iSave feature it makes you come back to the game and save the rest of them... Boy am I impressed!!! Wow!!

I'm amazed at just how generous ngmoco have been in offering up what is essentially a quarter of the game for nothing! And what a quarter-of-a-game it is. The Mr Scruff-centric soundtrack is inspired and it gives the whole experience the signature 21st century edgy coolness pioneered by De Blob, Little Big Planet and so on. I'm buying the full version with my next iTunes gift card, no questions asked. I've yet to see a naysayer of Rolando make a valid point on the matter, so prospective downloaders - ignore that aggregate score. It's misleading.

I almost didn't download this - bad choice! The game is challening and entertaining, and cute too c: It's one of the best lite versions of a game I've ever seen, as it really gives you enough levels to get the hang of it, and spend a while playing (and replaying for a higher score!). The one problem I found is that the tilt sensitivity is a little weird, sometimes I can't stop myself and other times I'm going incredibly slow. I personally now want to buy the full version, an for free this is a pretty good download - you have nothing to lose!

Good old-fashioned platformer

I just got through playing this demo of Rolando and frankly, I'm rather impressed. It brings to mind old-school platformers like Super Mario Brothers - the same type of pitfalls, enemies, and tokens to collect. The twist is you have several characters to play at once, some of which are more important than others (some can be lost and you can still complete the level, if you lose some of the others, the "royals", you'll have to restart the level.)
Extremely well crafted with a curious house-music like soundtrack, it's definitely worth the download. Is it worth upgrading to the full version? I think so.

Lite Version is nice and long!!

I bought my lil bro the full version for $9.99 when it first came out and just found out today that it's $5.99 now. I tried the lite version just now and it's definitely one of the longest if not THE longest demo I've ever played. It's a great game with a lot more cooler rolandos with different skills/attributes that pop up later on in the game. This is a really well-thought out game and I really recommend it to everyone. My only complaint is that an accelerometer control option would be nice. I feel like the rolandos accelerate too slowly and end up turning my iPhone practially upright to get them really rolling; however, this small "error" shouldn't hold anyone back from not only downloading this lite version, but also the full game!! :)

I've been excited about this game ever since I first saw a trailer for it -- which was before the App Store even came out. What really drew me to the game at first was the music. But now that I've tried the demo I can say it's a polished game all-around. Very fun! I've never paid for an iPhone app before but the full version of Rolando may be my first! Note: The game crashed for me every time I loaded the world map when starting a new game but rebooting my iPhone 3G fixed that problem permanently. I don't know why but some apps reportedly require this.

I was a bit hesitant about this game, couldn't quite see what the hype was about until I downloaded this amazing lite version! It has the right amount of levels to get a great taste of the full game (which I now have!) I really don't see how/why people don't like this game, is it too challenging for you? Obviously if you write a review without the use of any punctuation! And yes the Prince uncontrollably rolls around for a reason... That's the whole point if the game!!! Anyway, back to the game... The cartoon-type graphics are very smooth and pleasant to watch, I'm not a huge fan of puzzle games but this one is different. It's not just a "tilt" game, the intergration of touch controls work very well. I started playing Rolando as soon as I downloaded it, and was so addicted I played it until my battery died! The full game is a steal at £3.59, it was £5.99! So again, why are so many people moaning?! Would you all rather go out and buy a DS game for over £20?

Please can anyone answer my question? :)

Hi I have downloaded this app and its brill! After playing a few levels ive realised i'd like to buy the full version :) but can anyone tell me how many levels the lite version (or honeycup meadows) actually has in total since id like to save some of the fun for when ive got the full version!?
Note to publishers of this app.., you are giving too much of this game away! I suggest you do something like the monkeyball lite app and only include around 3 levels in the lite version!
All in all cant wait to get started on the full version! :D

This game is great i would get the full versions but the prices are too high A message to ngmoco: I know you guys have already started making a rolando 3 the one thing i want to see is a long 200-300 level story mode please i would pay $15 bucks for that and you would have the best app in the app store and with more than just 4 worlds to go to how about like 9 or 10 and please make the plot good to go with story Rember make a 200-300 level story maode please and lower the price for the other rolando games Good luck with rolando 3

Even though this game is inspired by Sony's LocoRoco but the smart used of touch screen and acceleometer makes this game shine and way better than LocoRoco. The don't let the cute graphics deceive you, it's very challenging after you pass the first few levels. The level design is very innovative you have to rotate your iPhone, slide the screen to jump, draw paths to let the rolando pass through, use many interesting items to move the mechanisms. This game has many interesting things that LocoRoco are lacking compare to Rolando.

This is the best game app I have for my iPhone! Everything is great about this game about the game from how the characters have their own little dialog to how everything looks. If I was forced to say something bad about it j would say that the story behind this awesome game could be improved (but that's just because I have the lite version). The only question now is do I go buy the first or the second game!

This game has it's own charm to, it has the same addictive power as mario games, you play a couple of level, baah what's so cool about it.. Then you realise you can't stop playing and that you just have to play the next level. The design is so creative, I really love this game, trying to get a 100% in a level adds a level of replay value, because I have to admit that w/ only 36 levels.. It doesn't sound much, so i'm trying to restrain myself from playing too often loll! If you like a good game to help you pass time, buy this game, if you're one of those hardcore players, you'll still enjoy this game! Must buy for anyone! worth 6$ ( i know this is the lite version, but i like this game so much I just had to leave my review about it so everyone can take advantage of this A+ game )

I have for years longed for a game as engaging as my old Miner 2049er that I had on my Atari 800 and this game is it and more. It's artistry and perfection - the music is hip and bizarre and cheezoid - the artwork and visual style is extraordinarily unique - there is a definite character to this game. I was reluctant to buy it based on the glowing reviews because there were other games in the app store that had glowing reviews that I bought and didn't like. Trism for example. Blech. I'm going to buy this and it would totally be worth 9.99 even though they reduced the price. I'm going on a long air trip and will play this until my eyes pop out. Thanks NGMOCO for making a lite version. I hope many more people buy it now.
