This game is kinda fun. When u look at it from here at the store it looks like a game based mainly on aim. But that is only partly true. It actually has a LOT to do with timing. The boats/ships scroll from side to side at a fixed range but their speed varies and gets faster later and the range gets farther and the obstacles get more in the way. Your aim adjusts only left and right not up and down. But that isn't as bad as it sounds. It works well and is controlled by the accelerometer. You have infinite ammo as long as you keep hitting targets but you aren't allowed to fire too rapidly. I believe the ammo replenishes still if you don't hit anything but at a slower rate.
NOW FOR THE CRITICISM.......Edit: FIXED!!!

I'm over 55+ and have a hard time playing some of the games. This one is exceptional ! I give it 6 stars. Even an old guy like me can play and win. One note to the developers. Please reward us on our point play. Promote us through the Naval ranks. First seaman - petty officer - chief petty officer - ensign etc.. all the way to sub captain. Send us a morse code message after each successful round with the upgrade and the insignia before starting the next round and this will be the most fantastic game ever ! ! I will recomended it to all of my older buddies who have iphones. Thanks in advance.

this is a very nice game and the graphics are sweet. I think it would be nice to have a more mix of screens to keep it fresh. different places not the same layout with a morning look, the day, evening and night. but even within that change the clouds, sun angles, rain, snow falling, rocks in the ocean to make it harder? what about them shooting back and we have to move so we don't get hit too. just so ideas. this is a very nice game and worth the buck reminds me of a old game I had and believe it or not I still have it and now my boys play with it. anyways can't wait to see any future updates.

Love the graphics - love the gameplay - just about perfect really. There is one issue I have been having (don't know if anyone else has experienced this yet) and one BIG REQUEST. First, when I reenter the game (and sometimes even on a new startup) the accelerometer doesn't always engage - I pause the game, restart it from within the game, but no tilt ability. If I exit the game completely and start fresh, usually this solves the issue - the problem here is that there seems to be no option to RESUME the game. I get to level 6 or so and then am interrupted let's say - I go to resume the game but it is back to Level 1. Other than the tilt getting disabled once in awhile and needing a resume to continue this great game - IT IS A GREAT GAME!!! $3 is peanuts for this much fun - totally recommend it - just waiting for an update to fix these small issues (and I know Rashid will not let us down! :) ) Thanks Skywardgames.

Fun and easy

The game is fun and easy, but gets harder as you move up levels. The same tune just keeps playing so you will want to mute after a few minutes. The developer needs to add a save feature. You have to start back at level one after you quit. The graphics are good. A fun game to play when you have a few minutes to spare. You don't steer or anything, just push the fire button at the right times and hit the correct ships, but miss the sail boats and medical ships. Decent game for the price.

This is an excellent, compelling game. I can play it for hours. The people who find it boring are doing something wrong. This game requires both a sense of timing and a sence of distance. The graphics are excellent, and if you turn off the Doom style music, the torpedo sounds are excellent.
Some upgrades are definitely in order. The tilt feature, which is necessary for aiming your periscope, sometimes doesn't work. There should be different ships to sink. Get rid of the sailboats. Whoever torpedoed a sailboat?

Decent game for 99 cents, it's a very polished recreation of all the ol' coin-op submarine arcade games that we've played over the years( I'm old enough to remember the MECHANICAL ones!). You move your periscope back and forth by tilting your iPod and fire torpedoes at ships crossing the screen.Excellent graphics and sound, the controls work smoothly. Occasionally the periscope becomes "stuck" and won't respond, exiting and re-entering the game always fixes it easily. Other than this rare glitch it plays flawlessly on my 1st Gen Touch.Game does exactly what it's supposed to, it's an arcade game sim, not a sub sim. It'd be cool if there were options to make it look like some of the older LCD & LED arcade versions!Minor gripe: A few more backgrounds would big improvement, "night" & "day" get old after awhile. It would really help make the game seem less repetitive.

It is simple but fun to play.
It takes 7 to 8 seconds to load to 'Main' menu and further 7 seconds to start the game.
The aim of the game is to tilt the iPhone left or right and aim the torpedo, then tap the red button on the screen to fire torpedos. You only have 3 torpedos you can shoot at one time... so if you fired 3, you have to wait until they go out of range or hit something before you can shoot more. You shoot anything that has a machine gun on the ship and avoid shooting 'friendly' ships (eg. red cross and yachts). As you clear levels, boats start to move faster so you make mistakes and shoot the friendly ships... when you hit too many friendly ships, game over.
Simple but a fun game! Never crashed either!!

Solid, fun App. Well worth a buck!!

i love this game. it is definitely one of my favorites. it is better than any of those big name games, like monkey ball or crash and i know because3 i have them all.
you will not regret spending 2 bucks on a game of this quality.
