Reviews:
Brilliant, Unique, Delightful By: spudfish - Dec 12, 2008 Version: 1.1 Much of the charm in this game is that such simple, child-like, primitive graphics belie the thoughtful precision and clever problem-solving needed to succeed. The combination of graphics and challenge and really unique input required makes it a DELIGHTFUL game. It is my favorite game and I just wish there were more levels. I sometimes laugh out loud at the genius of each new level and at the way the "Chalk World" hurls dangerous words at my little protagonist. I am not the most dexterous of game players, not speedy and slow to learn the best key combinations in video games. I am usually out tasked at the beginning stages. BUT here, only part of the challenge lies in exacting key combinations. Accurate tapping is helpful only after the early levels teach you about the best moves. And all of it involves spatial reasoning. There are multiple ways to deliver Little Stick to safety. When I finish all the levels, I'm going to go back and improve my times. I'll be playing this game for months to come. But one day I will want to pay $15 for "Trace Redux" or some other sequel. I think there could be a "Cake" world. And a "Desk World" and more. Who is this Kevin Calderone!? Thank him if you know him.
Reviewed 4 a reason By: dastarrkid - Jan 24, 2009 Version: 1.1 I'm a fan of problem solving games. This is very much like "touch physics" which is a $.99 game I love that has been recently made longer in an update. It's about mental stimulation; get object A to point B. These games are challenging, but not so much so that they make you not want to play. Good game addiction leads to level completion quickly. I can see how "trace" could go pretty fast for this reason. Big ups to the developers. I'll be looking for your work in the future.
Something Different By: Ben Crazy - Jun 7, 2009 Version: 1.1 My favorite app so far! It's a different approach to a game. I like not having to stress out on points or time constraints. Enough levels and interaction to make this either a nice relaxation time, or a game of serious challenges. You can draw to suit your mood as far as difficulty. I like the background music, it's somewhat soothing for me (it can be turned off if you want). It has pre-configured screens, just add your own lines to jump or walk onto, in order to get to the target while avoiding some moving obstacles. Thanks for a great game Kevin!
Simply Perfect. By: bazzy MC - 26-Oct-2008 Version: 1.1 This game is absolutely magnificent. I'm not one to write reviews but this game needs to be praised. I've found more joy and fun in Trace than I have in any other iPhone game I've played - and I have paid games such as crashbandicoot. Anyone considering this game be sure to download it, it's a must! To the developer(s), congradulations, I know the effort that goes into making games - don't think your effort has gone in vain!Could you maybe consider making a sequal, with more difficult levels? I wouldn't mind paying a few bucks :)Thanks for the great game!
Trace By: eat-sleep-ipod - Jan 1, 2009 Version: 1.1 This quirky, fun, and easy to play game is a great new addition to my growing collection of ipod touch apps. It really gets you to think sometimes, because it can be more difficult to play than it looks. Trace is probably one of the fullest and most complete free apps; as most free apps are "lite" and only go half the mile. There are so many levels, and even when you finally beat them all, it's still fun to play again and again.
Best Game for the iPhone, Free or Paid By: shmur - Nov 23, 2008 Version: 1.1 This is without a doubt the most engrossing game I have yet to find for the iPhone. It's the only game for the iPhone where i find myself playing it not just when I have some downtime, but whenever I can. The simple graphics are very charming and the music is a good fit as well. You can pick up and play with no learning curve, but the flow of levels is very well thought out. The later levels get progressively more difficult and you will find yourself watching and planning much more than you would expect for a "simple" game, and that's a good thing. Highly recommended.
So awesome... By: Benny Ling - 09-Oct-2008 Version: 1.0 Trace is the one of the best applications I currently have on my iPhone. As a free time-waster, it's does it's job excellently - massive amounts of levels, engaging gameplay, and thought provoking. Play it level at a time, three levels at a time, or even more - the puzzles will not get old! Sure, the graphics leave a little to be desired, but all in all - this is an excellent game. Well done to the developer.
Excellent Game Design By: Bloodstriker - 3-Nov-2008 Version: 1.1 Don't be fooled by the simple graphics of this game. This game is brilliantly executed. The only wish I have is that there be more levels. I was able to finish this game in a few days. One the odd things, however minor, is that in some of the levels, you don't spawn on a safe-point. Very strange, but it doesn't hurt the overall experience at all.To the devs - great work. I hope that well see more of this level of creativeness and playability from yiuvin the future.
Surprisingly fantastic By: Reid M M - Mar 23, 2009 Version: 1.1 I'm 15 years old and a find myself playing a game that looks like it was drawn by a 6 year old for two hours until I beat all 120 levels. It requires skill, luck, and the ability to think outside of the box. I do not think any levels are impossible, but some extremely difficult ones require looking at it a "different" angle. I give my props to the creator and sound producer. It has the 3 traits of a perfect app: fun, addicting, and FREE
Best free game - ADD MORE LEVELS PLEASE! By: kosmo russ - Dec 22, 2008 Version: 1.1 This game is the best free game app I have. The graphics are simple, but don't let that fool you as many reviewers have already mentioned. Using your imagination to get through each level is design simplicity at its best. Replay value is also great as many levels offer you different ways as solutions. I am not a fan of tilt games, and this is perfect as you just use your finger to draw yourself paths to get to the next level. I plead with the developer to update with more levels! This game is worth paying for... but it's free!

Ithis game!!! By: Ana16 - Sep 3, 2009 Version: 1.3 This has to be the greatest game in the app store that is free. This game is addicting and you cant put it down until you have beaten it all. I only wish it had updates that added more levels or that they had a Trace2. This game should not be free because it is amazing!! If you are reading this..follow my advice and download it now before they start selling it at the price it deserves. Its free, if you dont like it whats the worse that can happen u have to delete it? You have nothing to loose!!! Give it a chance...you will not regret it.Round of applause to the makers!!And btw this game is ssooooo much better than its crappy copycat iDork.
WHOA By: Mollllly - 16-Jan-2009 Version: 1.1 I only just got my iPod and I have been searching around for the past few days trying to find games that are big and will keep me entertained for hours. But every game that looked good was too expensive. Then I saw this game and I just thought it would be lame and boring but it had good reviews, so I got it. Suprising enough.. I LOVE IT. It's an exciting game. It;s starts of slow but once you get furthur on it's challenging. It's also free which is a HUGE bonus!
Why is this free? By: Russell6 - Nov 26, 2008 Version: 1.1 I would've payed a lot to get this. This is truly an excellent addition to the app store. This defines what an iPhone game should be:-Great idea for a game-Good controls-Basic and simple-Very friendly interface-Tons of levels-Challenging!-Awesome, original soundtrack!-Free!This game stretches my mind to think of new ways and methods to try things, and to explore new paths without the fear of losing health or running out of lives. THANK YOU!!
I can't believe this is FREE! By: frozen01 - Nov 16, 2008 Version: 1.1 Trace is a very creative and challenging game. The first few levels, just to warn you, are incredibly simple, but once you get past the learning curve it becomes incredibly complex and requires a great deal of imagination to get your stick figure out of the predicaments he's found himself in :) Kudos for such a creativity-driven game! I would have paid $5 for this (possibly more, had I been able to preview it) so it's pretty amazing that it's FREE!
Huge Fan By: Judimum - 05-Nov-2008 Version: 1.1 I have just completed this game. For the last couple of days I have been obsessed. Couldn't put it down. My poor little man was having a meltdown in the final level. Then he wouldn't stop, just kept walking constantly. So I had to battle that as well as some of the hardest stages. But what you think is hard is sometimes the easiest of all. Levels I worked on for ten of fifteen minutes, could have been done in seconds if I had taken a minute to just stop and look. Wickedly deceptive, never predictable, and oh so addictive...ask my family! Hey where is everyone? I'm back...
Simple but clever and loads of fun By: Snow Mani - 01-Nov-2008 Version: 1.1 Fantastic game. I love the different levels. You really have to think about how you are going to draw your path to the sun. Starts easy and gets harder as you go. Lots of fun and a must have game. I am looking forward to seeing what else this developer can come up with. What are you waiting for? Why are you still reading this review?! Go and get this game NOW. I reviewed this game 1st Nov 2008.
Incredible By: clstbk - Jan 4, 2009 Version: 1.1 I was babysitting last night, and I was playing this game but couldn't get off of it. This game is fun and very addicting. Well I got fired bc I wasn't paying attention 2 the kids (oops) bc I was playing this. I suddenly looked up and saw that it was 12:00 and the kids were. Running around eating chocolate cake!!!!???? Then ofcourse the parents walked in...... But anyway it's pretty addicting if I'm up babysitting with some little kids screaming and didn't notice themtil my battery ran out!!!!
Great By: Steven1000000000000000001 - 13-Oct-2009 Version: 1.3 This game is fantastic! Can't believe it is free should be same price as touch physics at least.Initial levels are easy, mid ones often quite easy too but some great ones where you have to draw the correct route and get the timing spot on. Would happily pay for this. Much better than 99% of paid games. I am kinda stuck on level 92 anyone? One more thing - the graphics. I like the simple graphics as it is all about gameplay. I think it puts a lot of people off getting though as looks childish if you don't remember some of the great puzzle platformers of the spectrum. For trace 2 spend a bit on the graphics and i think it can be well up there in the app store.
Buy this app. By: Swesomegame9228484 - Jul 1, 2009 Version: 1.1 This is the first app I have ever reviewed, and that's because it's the only one worth it. I have many games on my iPod, and when I finished each one my thought was, "Yes! I finally finished the game!" But for this one, my feeling was, "Man. I wish there were more levels." Yes, I was sad when I finished this game. Get this game. Trust me. I have never written a review before, but I am for this one because this is a great game.GREAT GAME!BUY THIS APP!
Great free game By: girlhackley - Nov 2, 2008 Version: 1.1 I live by my free apps only rule to keep out of trouble. This game is definately not a dissapointment. Some say it's too easy but that's part of the appeal. For a non video gamer like me this is great! Challenging enough to keep me interested, yet not so hard that u want to throw the towel in. If it gets too tough u can simply back out and go to another board. Then you can come back later and have a fresh outlook and maybe think your way past the obsticles. For those that say it's too easy, this may not be for you. Definately worth your time...especially if u need to kill some.
