I think this is a really good port. It's great fun and reminds me of why I love MK so much. Only thing is I could do with alittle better joystick and maybe bigger buttons. Characters are the main thing. Would love cyrax and smoke. I know that will come with time. Thanks EA u have made a happy MK fan here.Oh also if we could get MK 1 and 2 I would seriously be in love. Thanks again guys awesome job.

I been dreaming of having mortal kombat on my ipod.But theres some downfalls.Combos dont work,like 2% of the time.Missing characters like smoke.The sound sometimes stops.The buttons should be a little bit bigger but TRANSPARENT..like in street fighter 4.Sometimes iam missing the buttons cuz there too small.In the sample pic the buttons are NOT laid out like that!! And motaro was SO hard to beat untill i found out that if i stand there most of the time and punch like crazy he walks up to it and you end up defeating him.Would be great if you could play online against other players.Other than that the game is fun but needs some good updates.

Game play is slow, some characters look funny, controls are ok but I just can't stop jumping! Motaros level is just WTF? He moves from side to side making the screen all blurry, he's too hard to hit let alone beat, and Shao Kahn was easier then him! Lacks response all together, when doing fatalitys, it just does them without screen turning black, there's no set up or that classic sound, Dun Dun Dun! Ahhhhhh! Lol, And when you beat shao kahn he just dissappers, the screen says you are the champ and then back to the home screen, WEAK!!! NEEDS MORE WORK! But it's mk3 and I'll still play it But NEEDS SERIOUS UPDATES ON MOST THINGS! UPDATE FIXING ISSUES AND THIS APP WILL BE PERFECT!When all else fails, jump kick! AND THAT DOESN'T APPLY TO THE MK!! glitches, stalls, crashes! It needs updates! Hope you guys are workin on that! Needs a handicaps and more options!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Better than I expected

While it doesn't require the skill of the original, I found the iPod port to be very user friendly and easy to learn. However I am disappointed by the condensed roster and occasionally choppy animations and small details such as the infamous screen darkening and ominous music when you perform a fatality. I hope that EA will seriously consider updates adding new characters and stages and correcting bugs.

No. This is not an exact port of the arcade or console version of Ultimate Mortal Kombat 3, however, it is likely the best handheld MK I've ever played.It might not have the original MK staple of mocap actors, but the animation and detail of the of the 3D models are nearly identical to their original sprites.The controls have been simplifed. Being a Mortal Kombat game, it'll seem a little bizarre at first. You do get used to it, but it does take away from that complex timing/button skill that MK fans are accustom to.While the simplified controls aren't exactly the highlight of the game, it certainly helps when pulling off fatalities. :) :)Overall, I really enjoy this version. At first, I was utterly appalled at the idea of recreating the game instead of porting the original, but I've changed my mind since playing it. Although Street Fighter IV still might be better, Ultimate Mortal Kombat 3 is a close second.

It plays well, though a number of moves are tricky in power player mode because of the number of buttons that need to pressed simultaneously. It definitely doesn't play like the old arcade game though. Not bad, just different. The move list is available if you hit the i button on the top left. I like how it changes when you switch between 5 and 6 button modes. This game really needs a practice mode to allow getting used to the control scheme. That and more characters. Finally the leaderboards are flakey. They frequently stop registering your score or updating with other peoples' scores unless you kill and restart the game.

Why isnt it on sale like all other EA games?

If you are going to redo an entire graphic engine, it would be nice if the same amount of effort went into the gameplay. There is a simplified control scheme, but the problem is someone decided to stick with the terrible single player AI. Simply put, the original Mortal Kombat 3 had some of the worst AI programming ever. Play one fight against Shau Kahn and it is clear the game is a total write off as a single player experience.Insult to injury, many characters are missing (I suspect they will be paid DLC in the future) and touch screen fighters are never responsive enough for fast paced fighting. All in all the flaws make this a novelty version of MK3 that is far from Ultimate.

This is a pretty awesome game but it needs all the characters from mortal kombat trilogy and all of the fatalties like the real brutalities another thing is we are all very pissed off because no CYRAX. RAIN. NOOB sibot REPTILE. Ninja SUBZERO. SMOKE. BARAKAIf you add these characters most of us will give the app 5 stars so you have to update it and put in all those characters and all of the brutalities and MORE BLOOD if you added those things this would be the best app ever so please add them. This app is really good but there are a few things that can use some fixing.for one thing needs more blood, 2 what happened to Shao kahns laughing and criticism in the background?? U should consider adding that.also when u win it dosent say scorpion wins it just moves on to the next stage tht could use fixing .also when performing fatalities the screen dosent darken itd be great if yall could fix this as well.3 combos don't always finish . Also u should add the option to add a special moves button to the advanced control scheme cuz let's be honest the joy stick is not all tht reliable when doing special moves , not to mention when playing with sub zero using advanced controls u cant perform his freeze slide , this in my opinion is a big problem when playin with sub zero cuz it's one of his best moves especially when performing combos, it would also make it a whole heck of a lot easier to perform fatalities.also it'd be great if y'all could add reptile smoke cyrax sector and classic sub zero . Great app , just needs the finishing touches added .

Why I like street fighter better

This is a good app don't get me wrong.Last time I played mortal kombat and street fighter was like 16 years ago.With that being said. In the street fighter app there is a 'how to section for each fighter'.Unfortunately I do not remember any of the fatalities or moves. I only know some moves for sub zero.The controls should be in the app. I am not looking this up on google or buying another "guide" app.The control sensitivity is better in the street fighter iPhone app. I feel I can pull off moves easier on the street fighter app.I do like the retna display graphics for mortal combat.I like how capcom has updated the street fighter app for free, I respect and appreciate that.I doubt ea will ever update this app without charging dollars. Well be lucky to purchase smoke for $1.99, 6 months from now guys.

Awesome Almost Perfect Game

I rarely buy over $2.99, but this game is SO WORTH IT! I love the graphics, gameplay, and my iPhone 4 has no lag! This is the only game I play now. But there a couple things, some mentioned already, that I would love in an update (ordered in most important)1. iPod music. I love the game music, but sometimes I want to hear a podcast, audiobook, or my own tunes. 2. Online Multiplayer: my friends don't have this app!!! I want to play against another human. Please help!3. GameCenter: I love the achievements, and I'd love to show them off on GameCenter. 4. More characters? More is always better.5. Easier than novice? Like a couple people, I find novice incredibly challenging. Laugh if you will, but an easier beginner level would be a treat. Don't get me wrong, I love a challenge. It's clear I'll be spending months getting through the tournament levels, which makes the game worth the money alone, but a simpler level to start off with would also be cool. But in the end, I love this game. Thank you for making it. EA is just awesome.

A great first step

I've been wanting some sort of Mortal Kombat app since I got my iPod Touch more than a year ago. So far, this game is promising. The controls are easy to handle, there's good replay-value thanks to different difficulty levels, achievements and leaderboards, and the new 3D graphics are pretty decent (stages look good, but animations and 3D models are lacking). What I would recommend to the developer in order for this to be a 5 star app is fix the random bugs, tweak the animations, and more importantely, add more content (stages, characters). An online vs mode would be great too,As it is now though, Mortal Kombat is a great first step. None of its issues had prevented me from enjoying it (and I very picky when it comes to bugs and flaws), so I'd definitely recommend this to any MK fan, or someone who's looking for an enjoyable, simple fighting game on the go.

It's great to have this game back in market on an iphone platform. I have been a big fan of Mortal kombat and street fighter since the 1990's and I am impressed to have it at the palm of my hand

One of my favorites ...i was waiting for this one,now i can have it on my phone...i know it's not perfect but it's better than some other games that tell you everything just by looking at the screenshots...it has good graphics and it's ideal for those REAL FANS of MK that don't want to carry a PSP or something like that...i'll be waiting for new versions
