Great app but one suggestion...

This is a great app. After a pregnancy scare (I'm married but not ready for a baby and have an IUD) I decided to start keeping track of everything. Because I rarely ever have a period it is important to note when I actually do. Anyway, my suggestion would be to make it less obvious that it is a menstrual calendar. I have some people who like to play with my phone and don't need them knowing that it is a calendar for that. Although I have password protected it, when you click on the icon, a nice big "Menstrual Calendar" sign displays and then asks me for my password... Maybe you could change it from saying "Menstrual Calendar" to your company's name??

I always kept track of my period and other "things", even more after getting those "I'm late" scares, so this a useful and handy. My only fault with this app is the look and feel (the design/ apperance). Like other reviews state, need to allow custom opening/ background pic or color, ability to change calendar element colors and apply an overall Apple-like web 2.0 look and feel to it (shadows and dimension). I'll be will to help redesign it. But bottom line it, GREAT FREE PERIOD APP.

... I'd like for it to 1) add other categories / options within the "period" and "intercXXXXX" menus; 2) have an "add note" option to put extra notes for later reference
But all in all I love that I have this app and that it's free! Thank you!
Update 2/23/09: With this new update of add notes feature, I feel that this app is really truly complete and 100% awesome!!! Thank you so much!!!

Update screwed it all up

This is a very nice and educational app. The data entry proves to be good to have at hand when i find myself wondering about my cycle. However, when I updated it all of my data was screwed up and I see that I wasn't the only one that this happened to. I love how you are able to enter in "light", "normal", "heavy" and "spotting." But I think for some reason since I entered light for the start of my period, heavy through the middle of my period and light at the end again. I think it took the 'light' stage at the end of my period to mean a BEGINNING of a period again and my predicted ovulation days were wrong because of it. (18 days after the beginning of my period instead of 14). It later fixed that. But now my expected period day isn't showing. Please make this more like the website! I am in love with it other than the minor glitches and look forward to more updates! 3 stars for now with room for improvement hopefully :)

This is an amazing app!! It is just what I needed... There are only a few things that I think could be better; whenever I put something on a day it changes my period length! Which I just have to go back into setup and fix... But I don't know why it's doing it... And I also think it should have a place to write notes... So that you can keep track of your mood changes or headaches... And know that maybe your boyfriend didn't do anything wrong!! Thanks for a great app!!

By the grace of God and an iPhone app we are having a baby. My wife used to give me crap about playing with my iPhone everyday. Now she tells people that she has to like it. After trying for two years to have a baby we used this app and my wife told me the next week that it worked. Our baby is due July 23, 2009. What else is there to say? This app worked for me. My wife and I thank the developer from the bottom of our heart. God Bless you

Doesn't allow variation in cycles

I just wanted to keep track of my cycles, but it does not allow a variation of cycle length. I'm normally very regular, but when I need to input a new CD1, it changes all my previous cycles. Not good if you're the least bit irregular with your cycles. Update/edit: thanks for the update to this app! The very day I commented, the update came through. I've come back to change my rating from 2 stars to 5...

Can't believe somes of those app who charges to get them, when this incredible one is totally free. Since I got it, he never miss match a period day and I have been using it to avoid pregnancy. But I am so relying on it to get pregnant on dec when I'll be reunited with my husband and already know my most fertile days then. So I am so so grateful for this app. The best of the best out there. Try it and you wan't regret it. And it free

My wife and I have been trying to get pregnant for several years. I downloaded this app to help her keep track of her fertility. A few months ago this program said she was fertile on a day that we really weren't going to be intimate on. but since we had been tracking things using this program, we knew it was the best night to concieve. Well guess what? That night was the night that we concieved our baby. We are very excited to start our family. Thanks for the great FREE program. It's easy to use, and if you make sure to record your cycles accurately, it will help you to get your timing right.

It has an easy to use interface. The appearance is professional in design. Heavy days are displayed in darker red on the calendar and lighter days in lighter red. You can see at a glance your period history and you can view month to month quickly and easily. I found this extremely useful for documenting post menopausal period fluctuations. My doctor was highly impressed and told me to keep using it. I think she may go out and buy an iPhone herself now! LOL

only app I've ever given five stars to. and I rate ALOT of apps. it's so helpful and useful! privacy and you can expect when your period arrives! guys can even use it to track their girlfriends cycle, or to watch out for mood swings arriving in a sister or mother!! It is also informational and reliable. I love how you can record how heavy/light your flow was, include sidenotes, check your most fertile days, and click in if you've had protected/unprotected sex! GREATEST APPLICATION EVER, THANKS TAMTRIS!! much love! :)

This app really helped me to track my cycles/etc. I never used to do that since it was too much of a hassle but this app makes it simple and easy.
Also, the author has been updating it and has fixed multiple things that previous reviews complained about. For example, it now tracks actual data inputed and won't reset previous data if your cycle is irregular. There is also a privacy feature now. Thank you for responding to user input and providing a great app.

I like it and I don't let people snoop in my phone

I think its bizarre that people are giving this app a poor rating because their nosey friends look their phones. None of my friends would ever pick up my phone and start snooping. And even if they did I'm sure they would say "What's 'Cycles'" and I would say "that's private." That would be the end. That's it. Pretty simple. But getting to the app... I think it has done everything it's promised. I like it so far but its only been a month so I'm not sure how accurate the predictions are. Definitely worth downloading and checking out. Its free, what more could you ask for?

I'm happy that some kind soul finally created a free tracking calendar; It works just fine for those of us who appreciate the ability to plan ahead; I am eternally grateful; yadayadayada - BUT could we please make it less, um, "feminine"? I know that sounds like a contradiction considering, but I'd really like if the app didn't show up "big and bold" as Menstrual Calendar. I know it’s nothing to be ashamed of, yet I'd appreciate this app more if the name and icon were something more discreet.
Or cooler at least.

Does the same thing the one I paid $5 for and for and it's free! I would like to see someone come out with or add BBT tracking to a cycle app. I know fertilityfriend.com's site is capable of this, I would be great if they could add it to this app. It would also be awesome if the site and app were seamless, I'd pay for that! But if all you're looking for is a cycle calendar get this one, don't pay for one.

It's an ok app! This app wont disappoint you but I do prefer periodplus tho! Has better colors and records breast tenderness, also shows you reports of what your averages are on flow, cramp intensity and breat tenderness! And for you ppl saying you did or didn't get pregnant using this.. You are STUPID! It says it itself! These are estimates! These apps can't accurately predict exact fertile days! So I don't think it's fair to give bad ratings based on YOUR stupidity!

This app is really to use I like how it has a privacy code and I find it easy to use and how you can put how heavy or light your day was. I also like how the green means your ovulating and red is your period. It would be great if it could reset your cycle automatically because we all don't have regular cycles. I also enjoy how you can skip ahead months which is useful. Other than updating it to switch it automatically I really like this app and it's helpful to remember when your going to get your period
