Description:
*** As featured in Time Magazines, "Top Ten apps for Dads" *** Once you've exercised your body, exercise your mind and relax with Sleepmaker - Rain, Storms, Waves, Streams and Wildlife. On the appstore now! For a full body workout try the Twenty Chinups, Two Hundred Situps and Two Hundred Squats programs too. Don't be fooled by the impostors. This is the OFFICIAL, ORIGINAL AND SANCTIONED iPhone Application of the Hundred Pushups Program Support the HundredPushups.com program by buying this app! About the program: If you're serious about increasing your strength, follow this six week training program and you'll soon be on your way to completing 100 consecutive push ups! Think there's no way you could do this? I think you can! All you need is a good plan, plenty of discipline and about 30 minutes a week to achieve this goal! No doubt some of you can already do 50 consecutive push ups, but let's face it, you're in a big minority. Most of you reading this won't even be able to manage 20 pushups. Actually, I'm sure many of you can't even do 10. However, it really doesn't matter which group you fall into. If you follow the progressive push ups training program, I'm positive you'll soon be able to do 100 push ups! NOTE for iPod Touch users: The Facebook integration requires a network connection, and may crash the app if you try to update your status. If you are doing a set outside of range of wireless networks, choose not to update status to facebook in the Configuration Section under Facebook Login.

Reviews:
Great and soon to be better. By: Hands Dirtypants - Mar 6, 2009 Version: 1.1.1 I was looking at this one and the others. I shot the dev an email and got a response within an hour. I had questions about exporting data and progress reporting and graphing and a time element to those things and it sounds like all but the last are due for the upcoming version, which is out soon. I bought it immediately; the support was fantastic, and the website is terrific. I encountered no bugs that the other reviewers experienced. It was slick and stylish (although the movie of the pushup guy is cheesy), and worked perfectly. This must be a newer version.
I like it By: Sbudda - Mar 23, 2009 Version: 1.1.1 As a companion to the web site it does well. If you don't visit the site, it can be a bit sparse. I look forward to the new version to see if it makes it more standalone.I'd like to see these changes in the future...Final set should show (max). Rest time at the end seems odd. As another guy said, initial test input is awkward and doesn't seem to adjust to the best week. Would love for the program to be turned into an algorithym so one app be used for 200 situp, 20 pullup, and user exercises (I use 20 pullups for handstand pusups and it would be nice to track them as such). Plus, I assume that with an algorithym the workout could extend beyond 100. Also, tracking would be nice.Still it does what it says it does and I'm happy with that.
Love it! Got me motivated and I'm seeing the results already By: benny727 - Feb 10, 2009 Version: 1.1.1 Wow! This is a great app. I always was envious of men who could do this but struggled simply to do ten push ups. This app starts with several small sets and slowly builds you up. It even times your rest between sets. I can already feel the difference in my arms, chest and shoulders. I have to put my shirt sleeves above my biceps now because my shirt is too tight to go over them. That makes me feel great. I was getting physical at my doctor's office and two nurses were giving me the eye and flirting with me and I am a middle aged guy. Someone asked if I was a school coach. When I get to my goal, I am going to do 100 pushups three times a week for the rest of my life. A great way to get in shape in very little time.
Please Add Edit to Logs. By: montaukmonster - Apr 6, 2009 Version: 2.0 I love this app! (hence the 5 stars) I am on my third week of pushups and improving. HOWEVER, after the latest update weird stuff is happening. I love the new log feature but there is no ability to edit logs. If I mess up an entry then that's it. no going back. Please fix this. Also I tried putting in custom numbers and it crashed. ie, in week 3, day 2, I put in 20 pushups instead of the default 15 and it kept crashing. I have also hit the "fill log" button more than once and now I have double the logs. Great app. Please add the ability to edit and delete the logs. Thanks!
Great but Needs Improvement By: BigMooseRider - Apr 10, 2009 Version: 2.0.1 I have been using this app for a while now and my abilty to do pushups has greatly increased. This app is a life saver, for reasons I don't want to go into on a text. However, this app has many notable problems, even with the new update. First, even though it gives you the option to change the number of pushups you did in a rep, it either crashes or says invalid number when you try to. Second, if you fail a test it should have an option to tell it so that it will adjust itself to whatever you might need to do. Third, I would like the new logging feature to be able to add delete and edit the logs, after, of course, you fix the ability to change number of pushups in a rep too. I hope my ideas are heard for the next update and thanks or a great app! ~EDIT~ Thank you for hearing my, as well as others', concerns! What I would also like to see is the addition of a separate, exhaustion test log, so we can see how much we are improving with steady push ups as well as our push up reps
100 Pushups By: Monte 46580 - Oct 28, 2009 Version: 3.0.1 OK. They seem to have fixed the bugs in the initial 3.0 version. I tried it out this morning and my old data was there, the log/graph feature worked fine. Facebook update worked. Whats diferent? Well the screen display is re-done. Probably a matter of taste. I ws ok with the orignal and i'm ok with the new version. YOu may or may not like the oclor scheme, but that's really only for those of us who had the old. I do like the new countdown rest timer. Watching the second hand move around the closk is a good visual. I would like to see a maintenance feature to keep using once you've ocmpleted the program. Which I will do eventually!

Loving it!!!! By: I give up! - 02-Nov-2009 Version: 3.0.1 I love this App!! I'm really busy with work and childcare and this App means I don't have to think about anything, just put a reminder in my phone and follow the instructions.I'm at the end of week 4 now and it's just beginning to get a bit harder but my chest is GROWING!!!!. My wife is impressed with my Pec's new found prominence! :-) it's all good! After push ups I'm planning to do 200 sit ups and 20 pull ups on alternate days and once they're reached do the squats. Can't wait! :-)
A Quick Review By: Chris524 - 27-Oct-2009 Version: 3.0 Like others, I found the bugs in the new update frustrating, to say the least. But seeing as they are clearly doing their best to get the update released I won't moan about what is otherwise, a fantastic app.I've had A Hundred Pushups for about two weeks (I'm up to Week 2 day 2 - or 3...) and I definitaly feel stronger. The best thing about the app is that it allows you to force yourself to stick with the program, as apposed to just thinking about doing 10 push ups a night and then giving up.I'll admit I have little upper body strength but as I said before, as skeptical as I am about these things I am getting results. To begin with I struggled with 7 proper "good form" push ups and now, only two weeks in, I can do over 15 (might not sound impressive but at least I'm honest).Totally worth it. It does what it promises. I have also downloaded 200 sit ups which I plan to start soon.
Just the job By: Shaun Austin - 07-Jan-2009 Version: 1.1.1 My situation is almost the same as ManiacFive above. I started the programme last year and got to week 6, but an injury stopped me from completing. I've decided to start again in the new year and was aware that this app might be on the way so it's a no brainer to buy it as before then I was using the browser on the phone to refer to the reps tables. It's a perfect companion to the site based programme and the interval timer is a great idea. I've sent the dev some feedback which seems to have been taken on board so despite a couple of cosmetic issues I have no reservation in giving it a 5 star vote. Good stuff and easily worth a quid.

Superb application By: Paul Burns - 07-Sep-2009 Version: 2.2.1 If anyone is thinking of downloading this app, ignore some of the previous comments which describe it as "expensive" and even "extortionate". IT'S NOT - it costs less than a cup of tea in Starbucks! I admit that I was sceptical when I bought it, but after just a fortnight of using the programme, I have almost doubled my maximum number of consecutive push-ups. It works for me, and apart from increasing my stamina I have started to notice a slight increase in the size of my biceps. I'm confident that by the end of the six weeks I'll be able to do 100 push-ups (I struggled to do 21 at the initial assessment).

Nice app, good to add to workout By: Airtroop01 - Feb 9, 2009 Version: 1.1.1 I really like a lot of things about this app. For starters, the workout program is designed well to get your pushup reps higher as the weeks pass. Sure, you could do without the app and just follow the instructions on the website. However, if you are like me and need that extra little prompt, prod, poke.... Ahem.. Kick! in order to raise the bar on your workouts, then you'll like this app. Rest periods count down on the screen and somedays you need em. For the days you don't, you can just shake the iphone and it is time to knock em out again. The only thing I didn't like is the app is not a replacement for the website. When you do your max pushup tests, it does not auto set you to the right level. If you are in better health, you need to start in the later weeks so you can get a good workout. You have the capability of dialing that configuration in but, you have to refer to the website as to what week it should be.Overall, I'm glad to have the app.
good app By: zero to hundred - Aug 15, 2009 Version: 2.0.1 I really liked this. I had NO upper body strength and decided to work on pushups. My pushups are not full pushups, but I got to 100. At about week 5 it got buggy. I could not enter the data from my last set, which gives you a minimum you have to do. I didn't try with the first few sets because I was able to complete the sets. I will be starting over with real pushups. I'm totally proud of myself. I could not do a single full or half pushup when I started. I like the timer between sets, but the alarm is mildly annoying. I also think the instructions for use were not clear. I think I may have deleted my data about halfway through. This is still worth getting. The program will get you to 100 pushups in six weeks, even if, like me, your are starting at ground zero.
cool. it works again By: Dustin Diaz - Oct 29, 2009 Version: 3.0.1 alright. got the update. it no longer crashes, the graph works. and my 5 weeks of data has been restored. excellent. was it worth a redesign of the app? well, whatever. it was never about the graphics. it's not like it's a 3D video game app that will be played for hours. it's about the pushups. one thing I missed about the old app was the ability to view your next workout without doing it. it was nice as a mental note since it would help me prepare my mind before starting. other than that, things look fine. I'll continue to recommend this app to all my friends.
Thanks for the update By: Memenmemmemememe - Oct 28, 2009 Version: 3.0.1 The app is working fine now that has been fixed. Graph/log work fine, it doesn't crash, the splash screen is what you'd expect, and, more importantly, my data were not lost. Since now I am able to see my log again, I noticed that some days (done with the buggy v. 3) appeared more than once. I deleted the extra days, and now everything looks great. All my data entered before v. 3 is there. Original review: I am terribly disappointed. The new version crashes, the log/graphs are gone. I hope it is fixed soon. Like next week! I like this app. Unfortunately the developers released what should have been a beta (or alpha!) version. --- Is the "fixed" update under review by Apple? I don't think so. It took Apple no time to approve the buggy v. 3.0 and now they're taking their time? Just tell us the truth, WHEN is the update going to be available?

Very useful, but not good for people already midway through the program. By: Foiler84 - 12-Jan-2009 Version: 1.0 I found this app to be really useful in helping me with my pushup sets. It tracks which level of the program I'm on, and makes a sound and vibrates the phone when my rest break is almost over so I can prepare myself for the next set. The only problem I have with it is that I found the app when I was in week 2. The only way I could see to get the app up to my current level was to work my way through days 1, 2 and 3 in the app i.e. sitting there and tapping "done" and waiting for the rest breaks to be over, then pretending I'd done the next set already. If there was an easier way to configure what stage of the program you're through, this app would definitely be a 5 star app for me.
