Reviews:
Such a cool app By: Techtoys - 04-Jan-2009 Version: 1.0.0 This is simply great. I bought it today and immediately found it fun and engaging to use. The interface is very good, the method for measuring and getting fit seems to be as good and any and it sets good goals to work towards. My only gripe is that you cannot tell it to play music or a podcast whilst using the pedometer, so I have another application for that and then enter the steps later. The challenges are really motivating and the food entry is basic but efficient (I've tracked calories and fretted over the odd 50, the mecahnism in this software removes that and let's you enter rough foods, which it assigns energy values to). If you are a tried and tested follower of Weight Watchers or similar you may feel a little control has gone, but I think it works well for those who accept that every calaorie cannot be counted. All in all a really fun application that I hope to use every day.
Life Changer By: pjoseph - Mar 20, 2009 Version: 1.0.0 This has turned out to be a life changing App for me. I have lost 25 pounds in the 10 weeks I've been using it so far. The "game" is charming and compelling, turning something that could be considered drudgery into something fun and exciting. I am very pleased to have lost half my goal weight so sensibly and easily. The only negative feedback I have is that the pedometer, as noted elsewhere, does kill the iPod functionality. Fortunately once you set up a variety of common of likely walking routes you can just enter the recorded walks. Also, the more you use it the better you will get at estimating how many steps you walk for certain times and distances.
Really cool little app. Music would be nice. By: El Kabong - Mar 8, 2009 Version: 1.0.0 First of all the price is right, $5 is awesome. The program is very encouraging and honestly if it gets you to go walk a little more and pay just a little more attention to what you eat then it's paid for itself. If you have a regular walk then it's easy to get around the iPod functionality thing because you don't even have to start the app, you just plug in the "blocks" that you created for your different walking patterns. There are some games, and other fund little things to keep you poking around and to keep you thinking about your health. Can't be beat for the money.
Love It! By: All You Need Is Luv - Jan 20, 2009 Version: 1.0.0 Unlike other weight loss programs this one I always have with me on my phone. With the challenges it keeps me motivated, especially when it rewards you with "miles". I've never been one to keep up with a weight loss program for a day, let alone the week I've had it. The physical challenges are things that you can actually do, and the food challenges has gotten me to avoid fast food and pay closer attention (I already pay a bit of attention, since I don't eat meat and I don't want meat products, especially gelatin, in my food) to what goes into my food. It's a good program for a regular person that wants to get healthy, without all the gym/weight watchers/etc fees. It gives you advice that you will keep for life. When I complete six challenges I just can't wait to do them for the next day, the sense of accomplishment keeps me coming back.
Best Fitness tool for the iPhone! By: tariqari - Jan 6, 2009 Version: 1.0.0 This tool is the best. I bought it for the awesome price of 4.99 and it was worth every penny! The app presents you with a fitness program built for you. After quizzing you on your age, sex, weight and height, the program creates a very simple excercie program. The app also contains challenges for you to acomplish (such as the one I am doing now which requires me to not put salt on anything!). The app is soooo easy to use, a toddler could opperate it. It is very much like a game so gamers will easily find fun in the app. I recommend this app to anyone seriously considering losing weight and being healthy!
Very Motivating and Fun By: HRichards - Jan 5, 2009 Version: 1.0.0 Just an idea... What about the options to calculate inches as well and have a person that you can see that represents your measurements and they get smaller as your measurements get smaller. Maybe have a first weigh in person to compare to current? That would be a lot of fun!!
I love how there are little envelopes with fun challenges for you to complete each day! It keeps motivation going with information, challenges, and games that lead you toward new goals. Very fun! I also have already seen a change in the way I think throughout the day; as in, how can I complete a current challenge or this would make a great challenge, or let me walk here instead of drive. Buy it! You'll like it!
Very well down personal coach By: MrIcee - Dec 8, 2008 Version: 1.0.0 Aloha! I was reluctant to purchase this at the introductory $9.99 price - which seemed rather expensive. However, I just took it out for it's first walk - and I am already totally in love with this app. If you are looking for personal motivation - a personal coach to give you inspiration, goals, and rewards - this is the perfect app. The interface is VERY WELL thought out and very cute in the approach. Your coach is a simple stick figure - with loads of personality and plenty of moves. The screens are very well done and have a consistent flow. The messages and reinforcements are well thought out and presented in an engaging (and somewhat NLP structured) format. I did my first walk with the app today - a walk that I do daily that is measured to 1.1 miles - and the device pedometer accurately stated, at the end, 1.1 miles, which I was rather astonished at (considering the many GPS apps I have that do this poorly). Anyway, so far I love this app (havn't tried all the screens yet) - well worth the $9.99 as far as I'm concerned. If you are looking for motivation and someone to encourage you to move more, this is the perfect solution!
Cool app! By: lfrohling - 20-Jan-2009 Version: 1.0.0 Although it starts simple there is a wealth of stuff below the surface. Fun and addictive, it keeps me coming back every day to log my progress and make myself fitter. If the sound annoys you turn it off; if the character annoys you then you obviously prefer a grumpier/stricter coach (hey- whatever works for you) and this app certainly won't change it's cheery attitude to match your darker mood. There are plenty of health apps out there which are stricter (and perhaps more detailed) but I like the lighter approach- it motivates me more to get out of the house and MAKE time for sports/gym/whatever. It's a direct port from the Nintendo DS game (which I had but my pedometer broke so I can't use it anymore)- warts and all. It's more portable and efficient this way so I had no problem with "starting again". Good value!
Cute, fun and functional By: G.String - 07-Jan-2009 Version: 1.0.0 This has got to be one of the best apps out there. Turning a nintendo ds game into a brilliant iPhone app. The iPhone innards all help make this even more functional! Eg. The gyro works like a pedometer.
The cute dude that guides you through everything is so great! And the app is so easy to use, so much easier than carrying around your ds.
If I haven't already convinced you this is worth every cent just take a look at the file size to see how much has gone into this!
Very helpful By: Paul 366 - 18-Jan-2009 Version: 1.0.0 I started out with the lite version and it is really satisfying so I bought the full version and I've been using it ever since. It's very practical for day to day use and you get to keep track of what you eat and your workout as well as any other activity. There are many challenges that keep you motivated throughout the program. The graphics are nice and there are several daily challenges to keep you motivated. Overall worth the money and I think you can get results by using this app.
P.S it puts the lock on cause you choose to wrap the day at the end of your session. If you don't wrap the day it wouldn't lock it.

★★ A MUST HAVE !!! ★★ By: Babe Booth - 10-Jan-2009 Version: 1.0.0 EXACTLY LIKE THE NINTENDO DS VERSION RELEASED JUNE 2008.
I saw this and had to get it. I paid $40.00 for the N-DS version this is a steal for only $ 4.99.
I ACTUALLY LOST WEIGHT with this it keeps me motivated and on track
~ The pedometer works with ur iPhone
~ calculates for u ur daily food consumpsion in calories
~ Gives u ur BMI (body mass index)
PLUS A "TON" more incredibly creative highly motivating things.
♥Love It♥
Zoe141296 By: Zozo14 - 12-Jan-2009 Version: 1.0.0 Fantastic! Just installed this and am SO pleased. It is brilliant fun and they ask you to do lots of little exercises that really help yet are fun at the same time.I don't take my iPod to school so I wonndered whether I could get full potential of the pedemoter but you can add it later which was fab. It helps you keep track of what you're eating and really is like your very own personal trainer but fun at the same time.I highly reccommend this game and I was a bit hesitant about the price but trust me it is so worth it.Everything you could ever want and thinking about the quality of the game, the price now is nothing compared to some games.magnificent!
Great and motivAting: read for info By: dogdude111 - Aug 20, 2009 Version: 1.0.0 Great application: very useful.
Here is what you need to know before purchase:
1. TIME CONSUMING SET UP- the set up requires time for 2x 50 steps and a daily walk. Also you must create a profile as well as challenges. Takes about an hour.
2. MORE MOTIVATIONAL SUGGESTIONS THAN STRICT WORKOUT- does not offer work outs but does allow you to track progress
3. NEED A COMITMENT- you need to dedicate time to use product for the full value. If you want a more WORKOUT ORIENTED or LESS TIME CONSUMING try spending your money on iFitness.(1.99$$)
Otherwise, great motivational and fun to use.
Great Little App, But Some Fixes Needed By: hoodrat91910 - Feb 1, 2009 Version: 1.0.0 This is a very entertaining, light-hearted way to lose some weight and embark on a healthier lifestyle. However, the only complaint I have is that is very difficult to erase your profile and start over if you have not completed all the "preliminary screens". There should be a way to re-set the program so that one can start over from the very beginning without having to scroll through all the screens during the long introduction.
Good! By: N317386 - Jan 29, 2009 Version: 1.0.0 After the great experience I had with the quit smoking app from ubisoft, I decided to purchase this very similar designed program.
I'm happy with it so far but while the amount of "silliness" of the quit smoking app was just right, this one is just too much! It makes me feel like I'm 12.
Other than that annoyance, programs designed this way seem to work very well for types of people like me. If it becomes another success I would be glad to change my rating to five stars.
Good but not my taste By: IlBLisSlI - Jan 19, 2009 Version: 1.0.0 I downloaded this and many other fitness apps last month and I have to say this is probably worth the $5 to the right person.
It personally wasn't for me due to the following reasons.
1. Recording your food intake is way too genaric and innacurate (you'll just have to download it to seewhat I mean)
2. It takes forever to set up and go through the tutorial
3. It's really not very good for recording any excercise other than walking. Again just too generic.
4. Takes far too many steps to record anything
5. Just too "cute" felt like I was being treated like a 5 year old
That all being said this is still very well done and would be great to keep kids or people like my mom active and ingaged with their fitness.
If you want to just accurately record your stats at the gym I suggest iFitness and to record food/nutrition info I suggest looseit
Fun app for beginners By: phoofy - Jan 18, 2009 Version: 1.0.0 This is a cute app that makes getting healthier a bit more fun. I don't know how much use or interest this has on serious gym rats that need to track specific exercises and reps, but for someone just getting back into the swing of things (after a bit of a hiatus due to pregnancy & birth), this helps keep me interested in keeping my daily goals of eating right and exercise. Works very smoothly and would appeal to those who like CUTE things.
Cute approach..but.. By: Duhneeet - Jan 16, 2009 Version: 1.0.0 It's not all that useful.
iShape is good for tracking your calories and excercise!
This is more fun to look at when you wanna watch the stick figure talk.
But I prefer real excercise.. Not walks around the block..
So I don't see how this will help me.
Maybe it's useful for someone else but for 5 bucks it should have more features like setting goals and imputting progress!
Good start though looking forward to updates.
I like it, but... By: tboot - Jan 9, 2009 Version: 1.0.0 Boy, the set-up/intro takes a LONG time, and it really ought to warn you about this. Expect to spend like a half hour setting this up. But the intro is clever and thorough and, now that I've gotten past it, the program is indeed very helpful. I'll also agree, though, that they need to allow music to be played while walking -- music is almost the only thing that KEEPS me walking. Overall, the program is well worth a try.
Really Cute and Fun! By: KillashandraSingsOpera - Jan 6, 2009 Version: 1.0.0 It's a little limited, but it really is motivational. I recommend using it along with another fitness tracker, like Lose it. The little stick figure is SO cute, and makes me laugh. I dont think the pedometer part of it is as useful, although I'm not really sure exactly how it works yet. If anything, it would be nice if the application were slightly easier to figure out - especially since, if you enter a mistake, you can't undo it. Overall - REALLY fun, and well worth the 5 bucks!
