very impressed By: GadgetGuy247 - Sep 7, 2010 Version: 1.0 holy smokes, i never seen such a well done app like this that i just had to rate it, i never owned that stupid little sensor for your shoe, and i already run with my iphone, this is just great! looks beautiful on the iphone 4, everything falls into the app functionality wise in the simplest for keeping the runner in mind, the screen shots don't even tell you half of the story how great this app is. alot of respect to the developer(s) of this little wonder. if i would of seen this on a friends phone i would of paid 9.99$ for it with out blinking. so 2 bucks is worth it and if your just getting your diet on, think of it as 2 mcburgers that you wont have tomorrow :)
Great App!!!! By: Cionnn - Sep 7, 2010 Version: 1.0 I'm giving this app 5 stars because it really does what it says. It is more accurate than the Nike sportband/sensor combo in that it utilizes iPhones GPS. I tested it against the sportband and it read I ran 6:46/mi vs. Sportband reading 7:39/mi. I believe the adding of gps as well as iPhones accelerometer helped cause this level of accuracy. The only thing I could request in a future update is that they make it to where the app can sync with the Nike+ website and give us syncing on the home screen of the app rather than having to go through several pages. Thanks Nike!!
Awesome app, but drains battery too quickly By: Deej111 - Sep 28, 2010 Version: 1.0.2 I love this app. I bought my first iPod nano just to use with nike+ (so I've been running with it for a while). Very nice you no longer have to worry about the sensor in the shoe (was kind of hard to wear a sensor when I got to run on the beach barefoot) :-). I also love that you don't have sync with iTunes to send the data to Nike. It sends automatically after the run is completed....and of course the route mapping is a really nice touch. My only problem is after two hours of running I've used 60% of the battery. There needs to be a way to have the screen turn off while in use (if anyone knows of a way please tell me). I assume the screen being on constantly is causing an unnecessary strain on the battery. Would be nice if the screen would automatically turn off while in use (after a user selected time), and would come back on by either touching the screen or the home button.
Great Improvements!! By: bbatye - Sep 6, 2010 Version: 1.0 I was so disappointed the nike+ app originally on my iphone 3gs no longer worked well. I was irritated at it all the time. This update is EXACTLY what was needed (and it did work on the 3gs). I was worried you wouldn't be able to multi-task (check email, use another app at the same time) but it worked great! Once you sync from your phone into the Nike+ site, the GPS portion of it is really cool (both the view on your phone and on the computer). Really, this saved me the $400 I was going to pay for a Garmin that was really too expensive for a just jog for fun kind of person. THANK YOU!!! Great job (although now I worry more about other people cheating in the competitions...)
Previous Version was better! By: Insomniaeh - 11-Oct-2010 Version: 2.0 Even though the Nike+ GPS is accurate (outside use) you were able to calibrate your runs once you finished to record the exact distance. This calibrate function is now gone in Version 2.0. This is necessary for indoor treadmill use considering my distances were off by as much as .3 Kilometres more. I would like to give myself credit for the distances i run, not be subjected to better or worse distances depending on if I'm outside or inside.Facebook syncing is not correct either, stating I ran 5.33 Mi (which I ran 5.33 KM), with a time in KM. Please fixed this minor error.Overall all I'm extremely satisfied.
Great app By: Tommyg117 - Sep 11, 2010 Version: 1.0.2 I have been using the Nike plus program with my iPod nano for about a year now. I saw this come out and was shocked at how accurate it was compared to the nano one that I have been using. I just wish I had known before buying new Nike sneakers and a new chip to put in my shoe. I'll definitely recommend this to friends (none of them wanted to buy nike shoes, but now that it works with anything, It's worth it!). Great work Nike!
Awesome App By: CBR Dude 600 F4i - 5-Oct-2010 Version: 1.0.3 I love this app. I use it with every indoor and outdoor run. I compare it to the treadmill and it is bang on with what the treadmills are saying. Love it! It would be REALLY great if they cam out with a cycle app like this one (there's others out there, but none that track indoor bike or spin workouts). If they came out with a cycle app that used the accelerometer and GPS with music capability like this one I would buy it right away and track my spin classes with it!
Amazing By: JKD1982 - 10-Oct-2010 Version: 2.0 I've never left a review before because I really can't be bothered most of the time but felt that I had to with this one. I'm a regular long distance runner and already have 2 garmin forerunners one of which is gps and cost about £250. I have to say that this app is incredible and fantastic value for money. It located me in seconds (much quicker that my garmin watch) and the voice feedback tool is excellent motivation. The power song button is a great idea as the right song can really give you a massive boost when you most need it. I could go on forever about how good this is but there really is not much point - just buy it!
AWESOME! By: Hecto|2 - Sep 11, 2010 Version: 1.0.2 This application is must for all the runners out there simply 'timing' the run. This application uses the GPS in the iphone to calculate the run. Its super accurate and with a simple registration you can share your miles to nike plus and even on facebook. This application is worth more than 1.99. I strongly recommend this application! It definitely beats having to buy a pedometer and a specially designed shoe for it.5 stars!
One of the best apps I own! By: Snookis - Sep 27, 2010 Version: 1.0.2 I adore every single thing about this. It runs perfectly and is exactly what I was looking for to help keep my running information easily accessible and organized. The interface is beautiful and very easy to use. I love that I can set my own challenges and goals and get voice feedback on my distance and pace (which you can turn off in the settings if you don't want it that day). This app rocks and I would recommend it without reservation!!!

Super-duper-cooler-than-ever By: Purplemikey - 18-Sep-2010 Version: 1.0.2 This is an awesome apps that you all need if you wan to train, walk or run! The online race, contest and "friends thing" will help you to keep running everyday! The powersong is also a good feature and the training are well done!I am using an ipod touch and it seems like the gps system keep tracking me even if im offline... Dunno how... But when I come home it trace my race with a lack of precision but not too bad at all since im offline!5stars no doupt. Best running app for the ipodtouch for a low price!Cheap, useful, effective, perfect!Set your goal and RUN!
Good, needs some refinement By: Bigs4610 - Sep 11, 2010 Version: 1.0.2 Would be nice to see it work with the sensor, so you can use it as a pedometer. That way you can calibrate it and see just how far you've actually ran, as well as on a treadmill. Also would like it to see the app not close completely when a call comes in. Losing all data. Kinda critical in that regards.Has GREAT potential, and looking forward to future updates from an exceptional looking, and functioning app!
Best running app on store By: Daveytenheads - 07-Oct-2010 Version: 1.0.3 I've paid for quite a few running apps since getting my iPhone 18 months ago. This includes the highly rated runkeeper. I only downloaded nikes app as runkeeper was crashing this morning after the latest update. Despite thinking runkeeper was almost perfect I will only be using nikes app from now on. The front end is so user friendly, and polished that it is a joy to use. The price at just under £2 is a snip compared to runkeepers full version. Even though I turn off the voice updates, the summary at the end by a famous runner is a nice touch. All in all if you are a runner, treadmill, cross country or road, give this app a try, you Will not be disappointed.
:O amazing :D By: kewl kid - 15-Sep-2010 Version: 1.0.2 I don't really write reviews but I found it necessary for this app. I was just about to go buy a Nike shoe sensor thong when I stumbled across this app. For just a toonie, I can get amazing ability to track my running through gps and accelerometer pedometer. Even when I am amongst lots of trees, I can get very accurate readings. The app works even better when you sync with the website and login on your COMPUTER (not iPod/iPhone).BTW, I hold my iPhone when I run in my hand. It horizontal to the ground.
Itouch users!!! By: Runnin in afghan - Sep 10, 2010 Version: 1.0.2 Ok after reading most of the reviews I decided to try this new app out. I been using the sensor for almost a yr now but don't have my laptop at the moment. So I couldn't sync my runs and was bummed! After running the same route as I would with my sensor the Nike gps was accurate. Beware itouch users u have to Leave the app open or the distance won't record. Also I setup my profile before I went running and login in my username and password. The app saves ur info. When ur done with ur run u simply click on sync runs. That simple!! Sinuous users the does work we just don't get the google map part.Definitely a must
Works well on I-Pod Touch, but doesn By: RGWitham - Sep 10, 2010 Version: 1.0 This new App does work on the I-Pod Touch and is more reliable than the Nike+ sensor with Nike+ interface for the Touch. It also allows you to upload your workouts right from the Touch without having to sync with I-Tunes. Be sure to keep the Touch perpendicular to the ground (Not laying flat in your hand parallel to the ground) to get accurate logging. Having the Touch in an armband or the pocket of a pocket T-shirt works fine, and it doesn't matter if the Touch is kept upside down. GPS is not available on the Touch, so I think this App would be more functional on the I-Phone. There is a way to see the GPS map of your run on the Nike+ website, but it's inaccurate. I did see an option for editing the GPS map for the run on the website, but clicking on it took me to my settings window. This is something Nike will probably get around to fixing some day, but don't hold your breath. My experience with the Nike+ and Nikerunning websites is that they have a lot of bugs; many links are inactive or take you to the wrong pages, and Nike is excruciatingly slow in fixing these glitches. All said, this is a much better App than the Nike+ sensor with the I-Pod Touch interface.I'm still looking for an App from Nike that will let the user USE the information to create graphs, goals, etc. without having to use the Nike+ website. The reason for this is that the Nike+ website is limited as far as what the user can do with the workout logs and the website itself is frustrating because it freezes a lot and many of the on-site applications simply don't work.
awesome By: a82ndParatrooper - Sep 10, 2010 Version: 1.0.1 Lance armstrong said something to me after my run today, I forget what exactly he said but it was something like "you did a personal best for the 5K".pros and cons:+ extremely accurate GPS tracker with elevation.+ accurate route recording, playback on nikeplus website+ love how the app displays calories burned+ love how I don't have to manage music, Nike does a very good job with keeping the music flowing (shuffle).- app shows everyting in miles, but the website uses kilometer rubbish.Side note: My old iphone 3G suffered a catastrophic shortage due to sweat when working out. I had to buy a hydration belt by Amphipod to hold my iphone4 while running since Nike is slow at producing an armband for the new iphone4. All Nike has to offer is the V6 armband which is custom to the 3gs. Boo Nike!I hate apple for always being stingy on product details. Accessores like armbands should be available day 1. Its been months now and all we have are the cheezy iphone bumbers.
Runners paradise By: Report a Concern - Version: I was skeptical whether this would work with an Ipod Touch since the Touch, as I understand it, is not GPS capable. The description said it would do everything except the mapping but I wasn't sure if that meant it would track the miles without a sensor, which is what I wanted because I have had trouble with my sensor and Ipod communicating. I figured for only $2 I would take a chance, and I can report that it does work very well. I don't know how it does it (it even works indoors) but it has accurately recorded every mile I have run. It also has some nice new features, including automatic syncing and more info about records. So if you use an Ipod Touch and like to run, buy it.
Incredible! By: Shastagirlcat - Sep 10, 2010 Version: 1.0.2 I agree with other ratings - I have been a Nike sensor person since probably day 1 of availability. This simplifies all, saves the cost of a sensor, allows to buy shoes that don't require it and perfect for a four mile hike in hiking boots! Thanks for making an already great program even better. My hike and one jaunt were at 11,000 ft. elevation and without network (internet or phone) as soon as I came back in range, the maps populated and distance was accurate - I had my full fledge Garmin GPS with me and they were exact. The hike was even off road. LOVE it WORTH it! Thank you!!! On another note, I had two different pairs of shoes - one at work and one for home - I used my iTouch with one and iPhone with the other.....to avoid syncing sensors each time. This simplifies that too!
A+++ By: Dady'sAshleyGirl - Sep 23, 2010 Version: 1.0.2 I just got this app a few days ago and started using it right away. I found it to be very accurate and a great motivational tool. I really like the website as well, I used it to set up a training routine for a 5k run. I'm looking forward to that. Can anyone tell me if the "coach" tells you when to change run type, for example some of the scheduled runs call for you to do some tempo running at 2 miles for 1 mile. Does the "coach" give audio cues at that point?Any way, great app,Works great with bt headset for "hands free" operation
